  • Thanks for watching everyone! I have some videos I think may be cool to make coming up soon, but if you have anything in particular you'd like to see, send me a message, or leave a comment. Thanks!

  • cool!good job on that!

  • @balhanna thanks!

  • Where did u get the torx?

  • @sfgiants33doude you can likely find them at an electronics store, or order them off of Amazon. Maybe even a local hardware store.

  • put the tape in the bottom of the contrller

  • is it normal if i take of my Lt Rt buttons or are they stuck there

  • @ymeer1 yea, you can take them off, we did in this video. If you're not sure how to take them off, or how to put them back on, i made a video response to this video explaining how to do it.

  • @fbeetleson I am painting my xbox 360 controller purple, just one color no masking or design, just a purple. I did my three coats applied my primer, and I just need to do my clear coat how long to you suggest I wait until I spray it with clear coat.

  • Can I ask: can you paint on a black controller.?

  • @horill123 you can, but my guess is that you will need more paint.

  • @horill123 if you want a base coat of black then you're set if not then sand it and use what ever

  • @xSOUNDWAVE56x so, i have to sand the whole controller if for example i wanna paint it blue?

  • @horill123 i believe so, not that difficult though... that rhymed

  • Do you wet sand the clear?

  • @Mattertron1979 no, don't sand the clear coat.

  • i used montana gold

  • Ok thanks man i appreciate it.

  • I cant seem to find one in my house, but what exact kind of screw driver do you use to take apart the controller? Please message me back as soon as you can. Thanks.

  • @FilmPrideHD it's a torx t8 security bit. They are hard to find, and purposefully so. You will have to order one online, or, if you get lucky, find one at radioshack or home depot or something.

  • Good tutorial but i think that the controller looks horrible

  • Great tutorial :D

  • Looks absolutely rubish

  • its a bit off topic, I want to paint my car's plastic interior trim piece with krylon fusion along with primer and clear coat, but do i necessarily need to sand it? Because the krylon fusion details says no sanding required, and my trim piece does not have scratches or etc, it's a silver trim piece that I want to repaint because it's got some scuff marks and stains I can't remove.

  • @bludika No, i wouldn't sand it.

  • how much does the sand paper or krylon paint and clear coat cost

  • if u guys r having trouble with the paint and it cracks its because u have to buy special paint for xbox controllers the material on an xbox controller cannot take just any spray paint

  • Help every time i try to paint the paint cracks. I use regular plastic spray paint i prime it with 2 layers of adhesion promoter spray paint it with 2 layers of paint and the paint cracks!!!

  • @LETHALCLANGAMERZx this can happen with poor quality paints, or if the paint is drying under poor conditions. Assuming you are spray painting in an area not directly hit by sunlight, or unusually hot/cold, i would try using krylon fusion.

  • @fbeetleson Thanks Im using kind of crappy paint ill use krylon next time

  • did u not take out the dpad i noticed its red ?

  • @jbroz19 no, we took it out, then spray painted it red separately.

  • @fbeetleson thanks

  • @jbroz19 wat type of paint do you recommened?

  • @jbroz19 hahha srry posted before u said it

  • if you want to make an emblem on your contoller take a sheet of sticker paper that you would print on, print on your emblem and cut it out :D

  • Im Subscribing For The Sexy Controller.

  • Is it that simple to put the everything together because im about to do somthing like that to mine nd im kinda scared that i might mess it up any advice?

  • @mexican9831 yes, it actually is rather simple to put it together again. Don't be worried you will break it, just be careful and you won't. Follow the steps in my video and you should be fine.

  • how do you paint the logo on the controller

  • @SuperNirvana33 i cut out an outline of the skullcandy emblem that i printed out, taped it on with small pieces of tape on the back (behind the emblem), then just spray painted orange paint on that beyotch.

  • @fbeetleson thanx man but how did you not get the paint on the rest of the controller? just asking because i want to put my favorite bands logo on mine

  • @SuperNirvana33 there is some paint around the emblem, which gives it a nice fade effect.

  • @fbeetleson thanx man btw ur video is the best man. thanx

  • @SuperNirvana33 thank you for watching.

  • 2:44 thats what she said lol

  • if you're having trouble with the triggers on your controller, check out my detailed video on how to remove / insert them.

  • i know its krylon fusion but what type of paint is it?

  • @467sabian well Krylon is the brand name, Krylon fusion is the type that is designated for use in plastics. What exactly do you mean, "what type"?

  • @fbeetleson well is it a acrylic paint or what?

  • @467sabian sorry for the late reply. I really don't know much about paint, all i know is that this is pretty much the best paint to use on plastic. They have a website you can go to for more info.

  • i like 8:28

  • krylon fusion sucks, sand the controller then clean it and then use auto primer or adhesion promoter and duplicolor auto paints then use valspar hi gloss lacquer clear coat

  • @GretchentheAlligator too many layers, pal. trust me, I tried this on my first controller and it turned out bad. Then i wised up and got krylon fusion like everyones saying. Theres a reason all the pros say to use it. BTW never sand the controller unless you know what youre doing. ever, ever ever

  • Please tell me how you were able to paint th SC emblem without any paint leaking, it always gets a little through and messes it up

  • @UNFORGIVABLExGAMING well to be honest, I think it would be a waste of time to try and get the emblem perfect. This video makes the emblem look that way, but it is far from perfect, itself.

  • i dont know what clear coat i should use, a white one by rustoleum for plastic or a clear gloss one by rust oleum which work on wood, metal and ceramics. THOSE ARE THE ONLY OPTIONS I HAVE BECAUSE IM FROM UK

  • @TazIsAFifaGeek well out of those, i would use the one intended for plastic.

  • @fbeetleson thanks man btw ur channels sik

  • @TazIsAFifaGeek thank you. By the way, if you have any video suggestions, please send them to me in a message, otherwise i will just be making videos on basically random ideas that i think will still be interesting.

  • @fbeetleson also do you use the clear coat before or after, i need to know this because if i use the coat intended for plastic, the coat is white so my colour is basically gone.

  • @TazIsAFifaGeek you use the clear coat after you're done with all the layers of color.

  • @fbeetleson but mycustomxbox put a layer of coat before as well. so to be clear but the clear coat on after you paint the controller

  • @TazIsAFifaGeek well we just put it on after, but i guess it couldn't hurt to put on a layer before hand, as well.

Just be careful not to overdo the preparation and priming, because this may make your controller very noticeably thick.

  • @fbeetleson i was thining 1-2 light coats before and 3 coats at the end with the last coat being wet

  • @TazIsAFifaGeek that should be okay, just be careful to make those light coats.

  • @fbeetleson also can you visit the amazon uk version of the website and type in plastidip clear, i was thinking about using this as my coat and just wanted to make sure its safe

  • @TazIsAFifaGeek to be clear, im not an expert or anything, but just so long as the product says it can be used effectively on plastic, you shouldn't have a problem.

  • i put cig butts for the small holes

  • Nice

  • Did the paint eventually wear off onto your hands?

  • @teddywoods72 actually no, that is the advantage of using the clear coat.

  • @fbeetleson thats what I thought the clear was used for, thank you

  • just so everyone know messing with the barcode to get at the final screw voids your waurante

  • How do u put the triggers in please make

    A video

  • @tygunther1 they are kind of tricky, but yes, i will make a video in a few days or so.

  • @tygunther1 i made a video for that, and it is now a video response to this one.

  • ok all you guys if you get paint inside the holes for the buttons take a que tip and put alcohol rup on it and rub the hole

  • does the controller feel ok? would it feel the same as before it was painted?

  • @09keithmac you will notice a difference, and that is that the controller is larger than it was before, as well as small rough spots where the coating may have been uneven. It may take a day or so to get used to the feel.

  • @fbeetleson cheers!

  • Will the controller be sticky?

  • @YoYoYoJTGFan if it is at all, very little.

  • can you do one coat to the controller why do you need to put more coats on?

  • @ThePonUAdrian because while the controller looks great when the paint is wet, you'll find that when it dries, the paint will not look as good with only one coat.

  • Please check out our channel! we have controller vids too

  • so you wash the grease of the controller while holding the controller with your hands? your hands are what getes it greasy, dyumbass.

  • @w0rdthat you call me a "dyumbass" but you go around posting dumb comments on youtube videos?

  • @fbeetleson wow man it came out great great job

  • @MultiChillar that's the skull candy emblem

  • well umm i bought a torx t8 bit and it wont fit far enough down to get the bottom screws but it gets the rest of the screws so what do i do and nice controller

  • @lilfro1997 wow that is a bummer. I don't know what to tell you except get a longer one.

  • what´s the emblem names? i'm gonna spray my controller and want that emblem =P please answer xD

  • @MultiChillar just search "skull candy emblem" on google and you'll find it.

  • @fbeetleson Thank´s i find it =D

  • Awesome Video, Thanks alot. How did you get the decal on there without it getting on the rest of the controller though? DId you just tape all the other controller off?

  • @MrSillywilly98 well it's hard to see on the video, but there is a bit of orange paint around the emblem, as well. We didn't want to spend the time taping the rest of the controller, and figured it would look nice to have a bit of a fade around the decal, too.

  • y didnt you just use a black conntroler u dumb ass

  • Wouldve been easier to keep it assembled... U couldve just fit pieces of tape over the buttons nd the joysticks

  • how much is it?

  • you noob why you no wear gloves? and why do you spray in little goes?

  • howto put pro buttons onp

  • @TightDman1 what?

  • @Wishucouldbeatme38 i think under 20 dollars, but i dont remember exactly.

  • You didn't show you painting the buttons?

  • @MrSnakey14 yes, well painting the buttons is fairly easy, just make sure you dont get paint on the sides of those, too.

  • Do you have to sand it? What happens if you don't sand it?

  • @polakdude28 well personally, i think that sanding would be eccentric, but some professionals will tell you otherwise. When i sanded my first controller, it turned out very badly, and it had a horrible rough texture. Practice does make perfect, and i'm sure there is a way to do it right, i just dont know it haha.

  • scullcandy :)

  • 8:26 Make sure your "satified" LOL.

  • if i were to order some controllers from you how much would they be?

  • @naruto90121 i do not sell controllers, sorry. Go to mycustomxbox (dot) com to buy your own.

  • you guys are such noobs. check out my channel

  • Did he paint the thumb sticks too?

  • @BluJay0522 yes i did, but i am regretting it... the paint is peeling off.

  • U suk dude

  • On a scale of 1-10, where 10 is the hardest, what's the difficulty, and is there a chance a button won't work when I put it back together?

  • @Basketballfreak90 eh probably like a 6 or 7, but i would tell you that if you're careful, you probably won't fuck your controller up.

  • @fbeetleson How did you paint the XBLG buttom without painting the X inside it?

  • @99RMRM that is a good question. We put a piece of tape over the whole button, then, with an exacto knife, cut off all the tape except the tape covering the "X" itself.

  • @fbeetleson Ok , Thanks. =)

  • @Basketballfreak90 im , 12 and i havent messed up a controller ive done about 10 , im guessing you will be all good

  • Thanks guys great video, but do I put on the clear coat before or after i paint?

  • @kittygus after. Sorry it was unclear.

  • can u make me one? :D

  • Do u have to use spraypaint or can u just use normal paint? And paint it on with a paint brush

  • @joejoe9632 well, normal paint should be fine, as long as it's paint used for plastic.

  • Controller looks sick. Good job!

  • sooo wait how did u put the skull candy emblem on there??? like i dnt get how u did that

  • @ThaGamerBoi It's basically just a mold to put on the controller. Like, if you have a white controller, and you put a piece of tape on it, and then spray paint the whole thing black, once you take the piece of tape off, you'll have a white spot where the tape used to be.

  • dude orange is my favorite color and this vid made me sooo happy and the controller looks awsome with that emblem,,its gunna be difficult for me to do this because i've never really done this before,,any advise??Please Message back

  • @ThaGamerBoi The best advice I could give you is to take everything slowly, and carefully. We all know that once you paint everything, it's basically permanent. So just follow these steps carefully, and message me if you have any questions.

  • I think I will do that win I my 360 back

  • Sell it

  • that was a skull candy emblem that you but on it

  • crappy video, you should sand it down first, and then use a fat remover and prime and sand again, and then paint even layers and so use a clear coat

  • @Shabadubi We did sand first, but we didn't put it in the video because it looked like crap, and scratched the controller.

  • The very first step for me was to pause the damn video for an hour because my shity computer buffered every two secs

  • @fbeetleson this might be a dumb question but is it possible mod a transforming dpad into a standard 360 controller or wired controller?

  • @Master45503 transforming how?

  • @Master45503 oh, I'm not sure. To be honest, that's a very new feature, and you would have to buy specific parts to make that work.

  • Can i use any other spray paint, or can I only use Krylon, Or can someone give me the link to a UK shipping krylon store?

  • @blade3337 really, any paint advertised as sticking to plastic works.

  • "...the actual surface of the actual controller."

    WE GET IT, OKAY?!?

  • @GreyWolfProductions1 eh shut up

  • @fbeetleson Hey. Just playing. Sweet tutorial though bro. Helped me out a lot. :D

  • can u do it with wired controlers?

  • @DarkKnigt102 yes you can, as far as i know.

  • How do you get the triggers out?

  • @Cornwall1298 it's hard to explain, but you basically just need to twist them out.

  • i have krylon workable fixative for artwork and ect it helps to prevent smudging and ect do you think itll work the same as the other krylon clear coat spray

  • @uniden202 i am by no means a krylon expert, but if it does what you say, then give it a try!

  • looks like my nutsack...

  • not that good of a painter

  • Where did you get the decal

  • @TheGuyWhoCodes I made it myself by cutting out the outline of the skull online.

  • @fbeetleson Thanks

  • @TheGuyWhoCodes

buy a pair of skullcandy headphones

  • Paint + Battery Compartment = Hell To Pay When Taking The Battery Pack Out

  • SUCKS

  • @Sven3ST Lol shut u troll This is awsome Bet u cant even paint a toaster

  • How much would a normal can of Krylon clear coat be?

    Thanks

  • @ablivion i can't remember exactly, but I would guess somewhere in the 5 dollar area.

  • @ablivion $4?

  • Do you reckon that, if I got my controller, sprayed a bit of spray paint at the top and let it drip down, it would be a nice effect?

  • @iMBennxD it could turn out well, but my only worry is that the paint dripping will leave paint bubbles, and dry unevenly. That would be my only concern.

  • @fbeetleson Ok, thanks (:

  • Where do u buy the paint and where do u buy the scratch free coat of paint

  • @themaxbailey That's in the description.

  • One last thing, could you tell me exactly what kind of clear coat u used?
