i hate what they did when they changed the drawing style of the cartoon, it spoiled it for me and my sister now we dont watch it because the drawing style has gotten crap. The new version doesnt have the 3d feel to it and the characters and backgrounds looked rushed and flat.Where as the 1st season's backgrounds are painted and more better.The characters dont seem flat on the 1st season.To me they ruined it when they changed the style, i cant even take it seriously anymore.

Note that this is merely my opinion on American animation today.

Season 2 is the result of what's plauging American animation today. Animators today don't seem to bother to draw halfway decent characters and seem to pump out episodes too quickly, bringing to notice a lack of quality in the show.

I miss shows like Gargoyles that had great animation, an actual storyline (a great one at that) and even taught life lessons.

i think it was better like this because it showed a difference between local interpretations of dragons, like asian/chinese dragons are long and slender like grandpa but modern american dragons are often shown as bulky and tough like jake. i also like the other dragons like the australian dragon had designs akin to aboriginal art.

The reason they made the animation look different in the second season was so they could make new episodes faster. They wanted to make more new episodes faster, so they had to cut down on the thorough animation. I preferred the old animation myself.
