i think for some women (and men) facial hair plays a key part in an alpha male's status. not a huge one, but one none the less. for example, i find that a guy with an alpha male persona is much more attractive with facial hair like in the picture on 1:47 then an alpha male without it. but, i do agree. the act is what makes an alpha an alpha. the facial hair is just a little bonus. ;)
