@cheeseball247 Ford and chevy use essentially the same manual transmissions, t-5 in both mustangs and f bodys back in the 80s and early 90s. t-56 in a 93-02 Camaro or Firebird also in a 03-04 Cobra and Dodge viper.

@cheeseball247 In 1998 the Camaro's out performed the Mustang power-wise. I no longer have this car, I have a 2000 Pontiac Formula Firebird.

Currently (fact, not opinion), the new 2011 Mustang GT out does the 2011 Camaro SS at just about everything. It will spank a Camaro in a straight line or in the twisties. The current Mustang is a phenomenal car. Not saying the Camaro isn't, but its not even in the same league.

@mxt2s Yup the T56 and T5 are both borg-warner but the T5 sucks balls compared to a T56. If you have a hot rod SN95, this is to anyone pretty much replace it with a T56 because the T5 will break once you get over 350tq if you hot rod your stang. You can get the G-Force T5 rebuild kit, BUT imo still the T56 is a better tranny.

I'm not a fan of Prelude's nor the engine, But for wat it's worth, The H22's are decent engines. It's just that there are too many morons that get a simple swap or by a stock car, slap on an Off-brand muffler and think their 4 is tha shit. I'll admit that there are sum decent builds and respected 4's out there, but seriously, the K20 Fan boy''s needed GTFO. Stock for stock, that block is NOTHING extraordinary. @JT18260 I heard that the svo mustang was comin back with the 4 cyl turbo. probly not the old 2.3 but possibly that new mazda disi 2.3 turbo. those old 4 cyl turbo stangs were damn fast. i got embarrassed pretty bad ny one when i had my supra, but it was just an 87 n/a 7m-ge.

Made about 40 passes this summer in that car and at a 131,000 miles the transmission and engine is still fine. The reason you're so worried is you are used to that shit 3rd gear honda has in those k20 trannys.
