2 REASONS why this show is better than galactica: 1: This show was 5 times better than galactica, why? because when I watch a frucking SF I wanna see action not fucking soap drama like galactica... SEMPER FI!!!!!!!! :D
2: this were our earth falks, not some fucking humans from another part of galaxy
This series always struck me as "Top Gun in Space", and there is nothing wrong with that. It was well written, didn't treat the audiance as though they are idiots and had good emotional payoffs.
Pacing was good and they kept the overall tone of each episode consistant. It was solid, formuliac space adventure with enough overall arch to keep it midly interesting. I like this approach. Could have done with a TV Movie to resolve it after it was canned.
@FionnMarr I think in many ways it's like a spiritual predecessor to the re-imagined BSG series. Very similiar atmosphere and design, especially the militaristic side of things. Too bad it got canned after 1 season: the last few episodes were really good.
@ancalites actually i read that the guy who made BSG was inspired by this series and wanted to remake it, instead he was offered BSG so he took a lot from this show. This show is a prefect balance between drama and action, you have enough to feel for the peeps and get emotion when a cretin few die but not too much it gets over done.
this was around before halo this was the best show i agree and they really could have finished it in 3 or 5 episodes just so it was a complete series. When they cut it i thought they would make a movie to finish it such a shame is the most realistic and im sick of humans fighting robots. Like star trek it did not quite have the following but if they would have just finished it would have a huge following.
Hawkes, West and Vansen, were such Hollywood military seterotypes, (though Vansen was hot as a mo fo). Wang and Foos were the only ones who seemed real to me. Still, one hell of a show, great music, great effects, good writing, and in general good acting. Seems like it's a no brainer where the talent from the X-Files went when Wong and Morgan left.
This show was great...I loved it. So they canceled it.
