People, the problems we face were created by BOTH Democrats and Republicans over the last 100 years. Clinging to partisan snipping isn't solving anything. We can't keep borrowing/taxing Trillions of dollars, and we can't keep making transfers by Force - whether to individuals or corporations. If you think you can make a better world by beating someone else over the head with a book of fantasies or with actuarial tables assembled by eggheads - you can't. Force only gets Force.
God I remember the Summer of 2009, 2 years ago. Satelite TV, watching the weekend Independence Day Twilight Zone marathon. This was the best year as they showed the black and white and 80's series'. Watching this while looking forward to the fireworks and my nephew being born, camping the next night in the tent. Nothing like childhood summer.
Notice how the mom was getting a workout loading the wagon. And that tailgate must weigh 200 lbs on its own. This is before we had auto opening hatchbacks and luggage with rollers and.....I might add....a lot fewer overweight people.
What an awful man. He loves his shelter and his guns more than his family. And as for "I want everyone to protect themselves!", why is he only teaching his son and ignoring his wife and daughter? They're better off without him. =/
@ProfessorMoriartyx And did you notice when he calls her, he only says to put his son in the taxi, he doesn't say one word about sending his daughter back. Seems he has a problem with women, he doesn't seem to like them much at all.
Holy shit I haven't seen this episode since I was a little boy. This one always stuck out in my mind. Damn, even the 80's Twilight Zone's were good. The one's from the 2000's weren't that great. But the Outer Limits from the 90's had some good shows. Tanks for posting man, brings back memories.
You are awesome! I have wanted to see this FOR YEARS! It really freaked me out as a kid and I had terrible nightmares about it. I thought I was just dreaming it up!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fuck, 90's tv was the fucking shit. Now we got snookie from jersery shore, and those rich ass spoiled kids in teen cribs, that make you wanna cry. cause you dont have as much money as them.
I agree with Joe in this episode. I wish the same thing and as a misanthrope I really hope the whole world blows away rather than let the scum of the earth eat it alive.
Drugs...Pornography...so unwholesome. What's the world coming to? What happened to those good old days when you could say "honey i'm taking these beers and going down to the basement with our 7 year old son, and don't you dare tell anyone what we're doing down there! Coz I WILL find you, and I WILL kill you and mount your head on the wall with antlers"
We read the transcript of this episode in 8th Grade English class. I've never actually seen this until today. I still find it hard to believe they put the Twilight Zone label on this. It's good, but I never thought *Twilight Zone* good.
wow....quite a cast in this episode...Joe Mantegna, Joan Allen, Jonathan Gries (from Real Genius and Napolean Dynamite) and the girl from Wonder Years.
@taledarkside Well, at least we don't have middle-east crises today, like we did in the awful 80s. The more things change, the more they stay the same. In my life-time, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, another Bush, and Obama have all wrestled with the problem. Obama seems to be making progress. But it think it may be a "Good Cop, Bad Cop" effect from 8 years of Bush being so unbelievably (and counterproductively) provocative. Why can't they just get along? Religion.
But the 80s is a very unique decade. Computers are starting to be affordable, atari, tv shows, the car styles, music etc.... Also, I believe, the 80s was the last of the "andy griffith" type society. The decor of the houses had just a certain style.
@sbergman27 Unemployment is at a record low since the Great Depression and communist Obama failed to deliver his much needed "shovel-ready jobs". So what does he try to do? Spend more money and push our nation further in debt. It's a one step forward, three steps back kind of progress.
@TypeOLuigi420 We're still suffering from the collapse of the banking industry, which Bush's lax policies allowed. Do you find it surprising that it would take years to recover from such an implosion under any circumstances? I don't. A stitch in time saves a trillion. We should have voted Bush out at least 4 years previously. Or better yet, never have elected the Laissez-faire lunatic at all. The impending crisis was evident, but in a fit of unbelievable negligence, he declined to act.
@TypeOLuigi420 -- Aren't you the SLIGHTEST bit embarrassed at being so confused? You don't know the difference between Neoliberalism and Socialism, or between Fascism and Communism. Obama works for the very same elite special interests, Banksters, Corporations, Military Industrialists, Globalist Gangsters, Mafia Conmen, Organized Criminal Cartels, corrupt pols & assorted riffraff technocrats, thugs, thieves, murderers & faux-Conservative 'Christians' that Bush, Clinton, Reagan, etc. fronted for.
