The black berry storm isn't bad , it's good. It has many features of the black berry torch and it's much cheaper but on the other hand , it's very slow , very laggy and totally uncomfortable. It's touchscreen is very annoying. The black berry torch is much better in my opinion but I also respect all other opinions :D

This phone is a piece of shit unless you restart it every 6 hours or so. Lag, freezes, vauge button "click" to let you know that you actually pressed a button, unreliabel gyro function for screen swivel, and more. The bb RIM software is extremely glitchy on any bb. I refuse to buy another BB. Can't wait to smash this one when it gets replaced.

This phone is half-baked, worst pos i owned. An epic failed ambition to go head to head with iphone. Falls short on everything you wanted for a smart phone. Too much software and design failure. Please save yourself from misery and get an iphone or anything else instead. But I tell you, it's tough, I must have thrown it on the floor at least three times by the end of my contract but not a crack.....and yes, the experience was that bad!!!!

i bought the piece of shit the first day it was released. after a few months i couldn't stand paying for a shiny metal object to throw around all the time when it decided to lock up so i decided id go for the storm2 and it was slightly better..

a few months ago i threw in the rag and got a shiny droid x and im now a happy camper now until the iphone5 is released :)

...this was done on the old OS...a update to OS 5 boosted the performance immensely on this phone. I did the update a week after I bought my Storm and it was a world of difference...

...most of the issues (if not all) that he mentioned, were more or less fixed by the OS 5 update (was available within 3-4 weeks after I bought my Storm) there is absolutely no screen lag (portrait to landscape) the auto correct works flawlessly (when I need it) and typing on it is a breeze (landscape is my preference) I have had zero issues with mine over the year and change that I have owned it, and I will be getting a S3 or S4 for sure.

Blackberries are overrated. They're good for business. But too damn expensive. You gotta pay a helluva lot of money just to use the Internet and on it, and whatnot. And the software is slow and clumsy and tends to freeze and malfunction! iPhone or Droid all the way!

@ArchangelExile The Storm 1 had many problems. BlackBerry acknowledged this and made changes when it released the Storm 2. the Storm 2 solved most of the problems with the original Storm. the Storm 2 doesn't freeze.

@ArchangelExile all black berryes freeze up you have to set it up to flush every time the phone is locked or put it on a timer. thats what i do. do a weekly reset and you are good. i had my tour for over a year and it started freezing up i followed those tips and now it doesn't freeze up. its pretty fluid. it freezes more as you go along before you are doing more and all that built info is just setting there.

The camera is sooo slow and it has frustrated me since i got mine in '08. The big "button screen", balancing on one little button was not a good idea(RIM!!) and i had "squidgy" corners (a little paper under the battery fixed that problem nicely). I did have to replace the screen last year when parts of it stopped detecting touch. The only other thing i've had a problem with was that the battery finally needed replacing this month. OTHERWISE this phone does it's job fantastically (imo)!!
