Amazing, reminds me a bit of music from where I come from, Turkey. It's so nice to listen to music from all different cultures and respect it for what it is, regardless of where you're from. Beautiful.
where do you come from, where are you going, as for my input from western media, you people are "hunted" down in china ? i guess thats where you reside now, but from where and how did you ppl end up in china
The turkic people and other asian, tajiks, farsi and afghans have lived in central asia for a long time, the province called xingjian in chinese is called east turkestan in other central asian "books" or whatever, the meaning is that that was the most easter part where the ughur have lived.
There is some unrest there now, but it is the same as all non han majority provinces in china. The major being recent unrest where close to 200 people died.
these people are in western china in the province of xinjiang which is on the border of kyrgyzstan and pakistan.
as you can tell, these people are closer to central asians than they are to those from eastern China, like the Han.
China came in and claimed ownership to this land and is now giving benefits to Han Chinese to move in and start businesses in a land that isn't theirs (especially culturally).
In the future there will probably be less Uyghurs in Xinjiang and more and more Han.

Just as an instrumentalist he would deserve great accolades, but when you consider what a great singer he is also, it's simply mind-blowing.

Ain't it funny how the two largest Chinese-controlled regions don't even have a Chinese-majority population?

Absolutely bloody insane! Westerners could never possibly touch this man's skill with such an instrument. I'm definitely impressed.
