At 2:00 to 2:02, the blond girl with the grey coat is Susan (Lusk) Stephens. She brought me a note that says, "Harvey-here I am-or was-in 1958ish. I think I saw TrudySchell skating with a boy-tall guy (maybe Bert Lamens or Bernie Coffin). She had a striped scarf on & although the film is grainy, I think it is her."
Susan (Lusk) Stephens.
Thanks Susan, for that comment. Maybe it will jog someone's memory.
Great stuff Harvey - thanks for sharing. What about Vince Guaraldi's "Skating" from the Charlie Brown Christmas special. I would think people would get a kick out of seeing this looping in your window - especially at this time of year! What a contrast on so many levels. Thanks again.
The woman sitting in the black coat with white scarf at 1:33 is Carol Sandsbury (Fillman). We think that's David Barrett who skates over and sits next to her with the black and white checkered hat on. 1:35.
The Mom in red with scarf and the little girl sitting with red hat at 2:24 are Jane Mooney (Richmond) and her daughter Susan Mooney (Clay). Susan was in the bike shop recently and says she was about 4 years old in this video.
Tom Larrabee says the three men are Al Brock, Charles Flanagan and might be Walter Glidden. We also think that the boy who skates from left to right and ends up by a man in a brown coat is Pieter Huyser. I also think I can see Alise Frame wearing a short belted white jacket and black pants. She was a good skater in her teens. - Karen Gibbs
Thanks Karen and Tom, I have others who also say Albert G Brock is the man standing on the right at 1:35. Not confirmed by anyone in the Brock family yet. Is that Alise at 1:48 ?
I have a vague recollection of this being a major happening, and have a memory of your Dad offering skates.I remember the yacht club's courts being flooded after rains, then skated on as a kid. Then, Charles Flanagan the NYC manager ,shutting it down citing "liability potential' Music should be period specific-Bing Crosby Nat King Cole,or Danny Kaye David Glidden
David, thanks for the comments. Do you mean the yacht club courts on the "Cooks" side of the street? Is that your Dad, Walter, standing in long coat at 1 minute, 38 seconds?
Is this the Susan Stephens that lived in Seagoville Texas back in the early 70's?

James Greider told me via YackOn,
"The boy in red at 1:26 is almost certainly my father."
and his father, William "Billy" Greider Jr., confirmed it.
