Somehow, this looks like the kind of game that works better on a widescreen, or HD, resolution. I constantly got the feeling that the visible area was too small, which allows for easy falling into traps / bumping into enemies / etcetera. (Make a tribute game, hint hint ;) )

All in all, a very interesting demo. Incredibly smooth. Too bad it never actually got released. I'm sure the Saturn would have done a lot better, had this game been here.

looks...interesting. the fish eye view is a bit annoying, but it really grabs my attention, still needs sound effects. i dont think this would save the saturn, but it still looks tempting to play

@Ryanmetalmatthew Dude, it's a fucking BETA. What part of that can't you comprehend? It's not finished. Had everything gone smoothly, the final could have been awesome. Had it been released on time it could have been a classic like SM64. Sonic might actualy have been good nowadays. Why is it that people judge the final product by the beta? I bet if a game like OOT or COD was cancelled and had videos posted all overthe internet idiots would say, "I'm glad it was canceled"

I remember buying a Sega Saturn Demo, and it had Sonic 3d on it and Tomb Raider...

I was like 'I'm think I'm too old for Sonic now..' But HAD they released an amazing Sonic game (they still haven't, Sonic 4 is good, but..not amazing)

Absolutely amazing. Even today, this would look great on a handheld, and for it's time this made similiar genre games look very slow and blocky. This is just.... wow.

You can watch it again and again and it seems to pull you inside. The fish-eye lens engine really makes it play more like a dream...

Fuck SoJ and the morons that screwed Chris Senn and Ofer Alon's awesome idea.

We live in a sad age. I'd play this anyday over any of these new pitiful "next-generation" Sonic games anyday.

@Fairlazy Not to burst your bubble, but the fish-eye lens just makes the speed extremely confusing, and the fact that it makes levels look like "spheres" when they aren't makes the whole thing all the more dizzying.

I'll take Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 and Unleashed's daytime stages any day over this.

@Rukumouru And that's why Sonic games have gotten steadily worse and worse since SA/SA2, Unleashed doesn't count because only half of it is decent.

I've got high hopes for the generations title coming up, but again they're doing a half and half game, to please both classic fans and people like you lol. And it's because they try to keep this 'hybrid' that everything falls into the shitter repeatedly.

And let's not even bring up Sonic 4. :/

Whoever it was, fuck them. As amazing as it was back in the day, sonic adventure makes for a piss poor consolation.

It was the starting point of the franchises slide into convolution, "furfaggotry" and eventual ruin.

Too bad Chris Senn never just said "fuck you" to his previous employers and just dump the game online. Oh well.
