You can run out and get a 1 man 6x4 tent at Wlamart for $19.99 and it's so small you can just strap it to your pack or bars. Last year there was a lot of WIND early in the morning, if you don't mind sand .... I had the $19.99 tent and found it perfect for the price. You'll be fine with the stock tank, maybe you fill up once along the route and at Niland again, just in case you get the urge to explore the local area or want to be ready to jet in the morning without worrying about gas filling.
I got a stock tank on my nightster, (3.3 gal) so guess I am safe filling up at every other stop as well!! See you all tomorrow!!!! Finally the ride is here!!! OH, I noticed last year people had tents, this being my first year and only have a sleeping bag, ya think that will be enough. Sorry for such a rookie question? I just got my first motorcycle last year and want to take part in anything and everything that looks cool, but wanna be prepared as well.

About that. My tank gets about 80, so I'll be filling up at every other stop probably.
