James Carter KNOWS THE SAXOPHONE. I see him every year at NAMM at the P. Mauriat display this guy has me totally convinced he can do anything with a saxophone. He really is a amazing talent.
Great player. Saw JC at the Saxophone Congress when it was in Minneapolis a few years back. The guy can do anything with a saxophone ...short of eating it! Do not know him personally however, after some brief conversation, he did not seem very approachable.

He played that one before he was playing on the bass. For whatever reason it wasn't recorded in the video. He may be back this year. It should be around the end of November or beginning of December.

Of course the bass sax has a low "A" on it. You just play the lowest "A" & that's the low "A", wtf you talkin' 'bout????

Idk but that low note @ 0:22 sounds like a low A. It might be the camera quality.

the low notes between 1:39 to like 1:45 sounds like a low A. lol and some of the ending notes

Check out Orsi, an Italian sax maker. They are the only ones to produce the really big horns.
Or check out Eppelsheim, a german manufacturer who builds several horns (called Tubax) below the bass sax.
