Sorry I've had both. I've blown up more LT1's and LT4's than you can imagine. 4 in one race season in 2003 alone! My LS2 is practically indestructible. It's a way better motor, revs to the moon, made much better with better parts. I still love my 396 LT1 but my LS2 kicks it's ass!

an hour on it from the time i opend the hood 2 the time i closed it got another stock pushrod for it and the lifter was still good idk how but it was and i showed the people who build race engines her localy, where i purchased the parts. the only guy i talked to that has some kind of knowledge about engines said he's never seen the stud break off in the head. but anything can happen motor is now a 396 and have never drove it easy. need a new cage i got thrown out of the track only time it hooked

Yeah I am no fan of burnouts in the middle of the crowd. The only thing I can see that sort of justifies it is that the people are very aware and are even pushing the quarter panels to keep the car straight. But in general it's not the smartest thing. Either way I just love the flat out abuse of the car and the tires. That last burnout is just awesome!
