To vote, or not, to vote for any "qualified candidate" due to their race, gender or religion is short-sighted, bigoted and un-American. God bless America. E pluribus unum!

@Evangelicals4Mitt thank you I think many people are becoming more educated and less willing to simply vote with the group or the flavor of the month. It is important to educate yourself about all the issues and not vote with only superficial movitations. I agree Governor Romney is truly one of those rarities in politics a man, not perfect, but not only a man capable of actually leading this nation successfully but with integrity.

Race and gender don't hint at the quality of one's mind, that’s prejudice. Religious choice does reveal the quality of one’s mind, it’s a conscious choice, and is relevant to a voting decision.

@wagzel actually to discriminate against a candidate despite how qualified they may be for a position due to their religion is just as prejudiced. It was very clearly established by the founding fathers that there is no endorsement for, nor discrimination against, any particular faith when a candidate runs for the office of President of the United States of America. Also the civil right to freedom of religious faith and speech is included in the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

@wagzel If it's important to you to take into account a person's religion when voting, then I encourage you to do so. A person's faith does have an affect on them, and I think helps to guide their principles. With this in mind, what do you think of Romney, his principles and religion, and in the same, what do you think of Obama's? Will you do the study required to answer with an educated response?
