In October 1972, my family and I rode the Clinchfield steam excursion from Spartanburg, SC to Erwin, TN. I loaded up on ham and cheese sandwiches that day. Two of my cousins loaded up on candy apples and got sick as dogs from it. Ah, the good ol' days. Sadly, one of them is no longer with us as she died on Dec. 27, 2007 from Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Train master Croft (I believe it was), from Bostic. There is a shot of the engineer in the video, but don't know his name, nor do I the train crew in the caboose, but I remember everyone was extremely friendly and accomodating. Wish I knew them to give them credit. Looking back on it, I'm sure it was a bit of a high-profile day for them because the other names who made it happen were Mr. Lonen and the President of the railroad Mr. Tom Moore. I consider myself extremely lucky!
Glad you appreciate the residual footage. As time goes on, anything that remains is a treasure. Remember this, what we today perceive to be just everyday, is tomorrow a only memory. Thanks for your comments.
