I can't see how could I even order something there if I can't speak Japanese or being with a Japanese speaker friend... OK... I think it's better to start learning Japanese.
i was thier last year at the ramen shop. i could not eat the meat bc i had my wisdom teeth pulled out 3 days befor i went to japan with my famly but the ramen was good.
Wow, in America, if you brought a camera and started taping the inside of a kitchen, they'll yell "GET DA FUCK OUT!" and come at you with a butcher knife.
Todd, good thing there is a Japanese supermarket less than 1KM from my house. After watching your video I had to have some fresh ramen from Japan. Best Ramen shop I've been to is in Hadano Shi, Chihiro took me there last April and June. Her hometown also has some great Izakaya. Hope to see you next month for beer and yakitori.
We watched that movie "Ramen Girl" that recently came out on DVD. Made us wish we were back in Tokyo ordering ramen, and then you have a vlog about it. Nice bowl by the way. Spot-on Todd.
The Boston trip was "o.k." My head was still in Japan wile I was there. Just got into the grove here and then went home. Reverse culture shock at its best but I wanted to visit some close relatives to ease my mind. I am very glad to be back in Japan.
always enjoy all your videos...especially all the details on everything from the local food, street seen, to tourist attractions and the detail explanation on them...really appreciate all your work...keep up the great stuff ^o^
great vid dude love ramen,, hey I don't know if they have the chain up there but if they do,, and I usually try to stay away from chain restaurants but this one really does stand out from the crowd,,it's called "Ippudo" they do have a web site, WOW the ramen is fantastic their at least the one here in Nagoya is, I here that they opened one in NewYork as well.
What does the naruto kamaboko taste like? I know it's a teamed fish or some like that. But it always helps to know what I'm in for. OH! I 'm making curry tonight for the first time!
I was kidding.. they do not live there but the last still image says it all. Old tables and chairs fron the 70's I guess and that modern/rustic atmosphere like a truck stop in the US.
try Fuji ramen.. Near Richmond hotel

It's just a simple observation, but you still eat ramen like an American on a visit to Japan. Let go of all your inhibitions and SLURRRRRP!!!

Its a fish paste like a very firm gelitan. Not so much a fish taste as much as what ever spice is used.

Japanese movie directors love this kind of restaurants. American counterparts love old and dirty diners. Maybe it's very universal.
