Is it wise for me to save up justice points for the Immolation set which came with cata or are there some other better Pve gear I should try to get? @JokkeBorge Get the 2pc from JP, neck, relic, ring and bracers, still run the random hour of twilight dungeons to fill other slots to replace your pvp, run LFR and if you're lucky you might get 384 T13.

Ret dps is very viable and has been since patch 4.0.6 pulling high teens - 25k dps in 359 gear on every fight. The fact the rotation is fueled by RNG procs is not fun and work needs to be done to the scaling with haste but it is a viable and fun spec and far from "terribad" save that word for dps druids or shaman

you didnt mention the absolute most important part, guardian of ancient kings lasting 30 sec and wings lasting 20 with guardian being a ramp up and burst at the end you want to have wings up for the end, basically pop guardian and wait just over ten seconds and pop wings to get the wings 20% bonus added to the final burst from guardian popping off, also it works the other way and the strength from guardian will boost the damage from hammer while using wings., boss fight zealotry then GoAk/wings
@Rotukaproductions Tauren have more health and have a AOE stun. Belf has a silence and with the same skill they use to silent they gain back a small amount of mana/rage/energy
i play my pally at dps spec that gets better every time i look at a tutorial i can use as tank or a healer specs where tanking is only defind by a good healer behind it and the dps too and can make more than 30pc of damage! so its down to learning the talents in the best order asap when their ready!
How did you get a second bar on top of all your spells/abilities? I only have one out a time and always have to use the up and down arrows during battles, quests etc.
Do this and look up your best is slot etc and you will have no problem with your dps ...well until Next patch cause mastery is getting completely revamped including Talents so and so forth but as of right now this things i have listed are what every pally needs to be Doing ..Glyphs i would not worry about glyph of Seal of Truth Get Exorcism 20% CS 5% crit and +15% damage to Templars other glyphs are of your own choosing being they do not effect your dps
And lastly @Muspk1 225 Mastery is Worst stat for Retribution pallys at this point After your hit capped obviously and have as much exp as possible being i say that because i tried to cap out Exp and its impossible at this point without Tgear and i dont currently have all mine but anyways after your hit capped and etc Haste is number one Secondary stat over everything else Str>haste>Crit and you wont have much crit ill tell you that now anwayz Soft cap for haste is 1200 without any procs
With the macro i just typed out you can do all of that at once and have a large CD every 2 mins i also have Gaurdian of Kings macro together with it aswell along with a Golemblood potion and a trinket for maximum amount of Burst DPS which has always been what Ret pallys are Burst machines ok Sustained Large amounts of burst the reg rotation is completely fubar to begin with Being proc based but as Priority based Rotaion its CS,Judge,CS,HW,CS TV Exorcisms on proc with Priority over the others
You are correct in some instances about the rotation at 85 with all Heroic and some epic gear i sustain 14k dps 17-19 spike with CD's one of the things you are wrong about is stacking Zeal and Wings together as of right now Inq consumes all holy power but Zeal takes 3 but doesnt take it off so the macro i use it in this order /cast Zeal>Inqu>AV>start the rotation with Hammer that way its on it 4 sec CD then CS TV Hammer CS TV etc and also if you are fast enough you can also get off Exor aswell

hmm in my rotation its pop wings judgement crusader strike then when full it has a special talent i think mastery that makes ur templar verdict a free spell and what i noticed on that spec is that its the same dmg as a 3 holy power templar verdict and plus another spec that makes your excorcism a free cast. and another spec which makes ur seal of truth a double dps so it basically doing the seal of truth dmg but its doing it more

You forgot to talk about reforging, hit cap, haste, expertise you talked about a little bit, current good crit and haste% as well. I am a ret pally i currently run 14k dps in heroics and in raids im running roughly 16k+. Yes ret pallys right now are one of the low dps class inless you know how to play it. We are getting a slight buff come patch 4.0.6 but atm mastery doesnt do anything for us. All your gear that has mastery and what not on it you want to reforge it to either haste or crit.
Btw about video, the two dmg thingies, Seal of Truth and Censure(DOT) r not the same, dot is dot from seal and SoT is the dmg wep output which pluses to every wepswing(white dmg) after u hit 5 stacks of the seal on target. Last one is extremely useful if u got a 3.8speed wep ^^
Was testing Ret dps in some raid start ups, gotta say, no way they get chance in a raid group before they get a huge buff to talents to rise the crit. Why->TV needs it badly cuz CS and other abs work on TV and it should never fail.
In Heroic Dung gear u get 5.4%, when hit%exp capped u can go reforge some exp for crit cuz its the DPS maker for retardins now. Also very important to stay on haste and due to low crit gem ONLY in Str.
After these messy experiments i got a bit better numbers.
My wotlk dps as a retadin was way higher than the shitty crap-dps I'm doing now.. Good thing I switched holy for MS.. Untill they boost the dmg on paladins..

@joemomma824 you get word of glory and when you get that you get holy power whenever you hit with crusader strike you get 1 thing of holy power you can get 3 bars max and when you use word of glory it heals you for all your holy power you have gained

Most comments are based on 4,01, but in 4,03 and then you're 85lvl dps is MUCH smaller than it was in 4,01 then you were 80 lvl + pve gear. Now my pally is 85lvl (6,7k GS) and I'm doing ~6k DPS with good rotation (mixing zelo + avengin and stuff). I also have DK, average dps in dun - ~9 -12K DPS, so make conclusions
@MrKainon well my dps is better then clearing trash, more enemies - more DPS I say. Now my GS is 7,2k, and iLvl 388, my got bigger about 2k (now it's 7-8k) and sometimes i'm doing 10k :)

Just been holy paldin, decided to change my guy to ret, sick of no damage. Holy is still a great healer though.

How did you get a second bar on top of all your spells/abilities? I only have one out a time and always have to use the up and down arrows during battles, quests etc.

You didnt read selfless healer talent right.. it increases damage! :) so its nice talent if you throw a heal on another guy in a raid

Do this and look up your best is slot etc and you will have no problem with your dps ...well until Next patch cause mastery is getting completely revamped including Talents so and so forth but as of right now this things i have listed are what every pally needs to be Doing ..Glyphs i would not worry about glyph of Seal of Truth Get Exorcism 20% CS 5% crit and +15% damage to Templars other glyphs are of your own choosing being they do not effect your dps

And lastly @Muspk1 225 Mastery is Worst stat for Retribution pallys at this point After your hit capped obviously and have as much exp as possible being i say that because i tried to cap out Exp and its impossible at this point without Tgear and i dont currently have all mine but anyways after your hit capped and etc Haste is number one Secondary stat over everything else Str>haste>Crit and you wont have much crit ill tell you that now anwayz Soft cap for haste is 1200 without any procs

With the macro i just typed out you can do all of that at once and have a large CD every 2 mins i also have Gaurdian of Kings macro together with it aswell along with a Golemblood potion and a trinket for maximum amount of Burst DPS which has always been what Ret pallys are Burst machines ok Sustained Large amounts of burst the reg rotation is completely fubar to begin with Being proc based but as Priority based Rotaion its CS,Judge,CS,HW,CS TV Exorcisms on proc with Priority over the others

You are correct in some instances about the rotation at 85 with all Heroic and some epic gear i sustain 14k dps 17-19 spike with CD's one of the things you are wrong about is stacking Zeal and Wings together as of right now Inq consumes all holy power but Zeal takes 3 but doesnt take it off so the macro i use it in this order /cast Zeal>Inqu>AV>start the rotation with Hammer that way its on it 4 sec CD then CS TV Hammer CS TV etc and also if you are fast enough you can also get off Exor aswell

@chnl97mta Depends, prot is more like pve wise, but it can be alright for pvp, however, i prefer ret, good for pvp and pve. and holy, dont like it at all =/

hmm in my rotation its pop wings judgement crusader strike then when full it has a special talent i think mastery that makes ur templar verdict a free spell and what i noticed on that spec is that its the same dmg as a 3 holy power templar verdict and plus another spec that makes your excorcism a free cast. and another spec which makes ur seal of truth a double dps so it basically doing the seal of truth dmg but its doing it more

You forgot to talk about reforging, hit cap, haste, expertise you talked about a little bit, current good crit and haste% as well. I am a ret pally i currently run 14k dps in heroics and in raids im running roughly 16k+. Yes ret pallys right now are one of the low dps class inless you know how to play it. We are getting a slight buff come patch 4.0.6 but atm mastery doesnt do anything for us. All your gear that has mastery and what not on it you want to reforge it to either haste or crit.

You didnt use Guardian of the Ancient kings. They recently buffed it to affect MAX strength...thats a ridiculous dps upgrade.

Btw about video, the two dmg thingies, Seal of Truth and Censure(DOT) r not the same, dot is dot from seal and SoT is the dmg wep output which pluses to every wepswing(white dmg) after u hit 5 stacks of the seal on target. Last one is extremely useful if u got a 3.8speed wep ^^

Was testing Ret dps in some raid start ups, gotta say, no way they get chance in a raid group before they get a huge buff to talents to rise the crit. Why->TV needs it badly cuz CS and other abs work on TV and it should never fail.
In Heroic Dung gear u get 5.4%, when hit%exp capped u can go reforge some exp for crit cuz its the DPS maker for retardins now. Also very important to stay on haste and due to low crit gem ONLY in Str.
After these messy experiments i got a bit better numbers.

@joemomma824 you get word of glory and when you get that you get holy power whenever you hit with crusader strike you get 1 thing of holy power you can get 3 bars max and when you use word of glory it heals you for all your holy power you have gained

Most comments are based on 4,01, but in 4,03 and then you're 85lvl dps is MUCH smaller than it was in 4,01 then you were 80 lvl + pve gear. Now my pally is 85lvl (6,7k GS) and I'm doing ~6k DPS with good rotation (mixing zelo + avengin and stuff). I also have DK, average dps in dun - ~9 -12K DPS, so make conclusions

@MrKainon well my dps is better then clearing trash, more enemies - more DPS I say. Now my GS is 7,2k, and iLvl 388, my got bigger about 2k (now it's 7-8k) and sometimes i'm doing 10k :)
