Yes. It's just plain horrible. If these versions of cave story had some way of turning on the original music, I would get them. But this just breaks the deal. Cave Story 3DS looks like it has much better music then this.

@BoxinShrimp What? Dude, they do have that option. The Wii version has it in the options on the main menu and the DSi version doesn't come with any changed tracks at all, just enhanced copies of the old music, for better listening.

Underneath Kazuma and the dragon there is a hidden walkway and door. Go in the door and talk to the very small people to find out her husband is missing. In Mimiga Graveyard there is another tiny person next to the orange thing with a knife. Talk to him and pick him up, and then take him back to his wife. Talk to him again to trade your Blade for the Nemesis.

IT'S THE SAME DAMN GAME. QUIT TALKING CRAP. If you don't like the new graphics, you CAN set it back to the originals. Plus, they added new modes the original didn't have.

Some of you guys are acting like this game has been completely warped. I guess you haven't seen the La Mulana Wii videos then. That game's not even going to be able to do an old school mode, w/ graphics or music, because it has to be changed so much.

I think the nitpicking needs to be reserved for games that deserve it, like Sonic 4 and Other M. I don't agree with all of the changes either, but this remake is still really faithful to its source. Cave Story fans are lucky, imo.

@g0t3nks For the record, the only thing that has changed on the Wii version is the fact you can do alternate graphics and music and 2 other difficulties (easy for people who want a easier challenge and hard for super pro players), which you can change right back. Well that and additional modes (Time Attack for pro players, and boss attack for pro players, as well as curly story). If you don't like the Wii version, don't play it. know that it is the same game, just different modes IF YOU CHOOSE!

Yes you can change to original music. I also read somewhere that you could mix between new and original in case you have preferences from both sides, but if it's there it's probably unlockable because I haven't found it yet.

under the music and sound effect volume controls are the graphics and music switches, and you can mix the 2 if you want, like old music with new graphics (at least that's the way i do it...).

@TheDutchGhost It's pretty much like the regular mode, only switching Curly with Quote. There are some script changes (mainly to refer to the player as "she" rather than "he") and Curly has some lines here and there, but it's the exact same thing.

I had hoped there would have been some additional segments for the player to explore, or perhaps some sort of prologue.

Perhaps a segment that unlocks after you finish the main game, taking place during the original robot invasion during which you have to confront Miakid.

I like the remix of Moonsong that they made as an easy-listening song, but I think the original song works a lot better when actually playing on the Outer Wall. With enemies all around stopping at nothing to kill you as you make your way to a plantation where all the Mimigas have been brainwashed, it really shouldn't be as peaceful as it is.

There will be an option of playing with the original music though so I guess it doesn't matter too much =P
