  • The great thing is: you don1t even have to teach them to be atheist. I wasn't brought up as an atheist, still I became one, becaue that seemed rational.

  • I saw your post in 2010 about God sending you a sign..."smiting you"...now you are posting you had an ulcer in 2011...Am I the only one seeing the correlation here? I hope you don't ask for any other signs. Although you have not posted for awhile. I hope you are ok?

  • "forcing kids to believe things they don't understand." I have my children go on a plane to visit family in New York. They don't need to know how the plane works. They just hop on and end up at point B. It is the ride on the plane that matters. It seems like you insist on "driving" to New York just for the sake of being a rebel. Where has that gotten you? You have an ulcer at a young age and a young child out of wedlock? No offense, just saying your child is better to know Jesus.

  • @kyweaver lol. Yeah, an imaginary friend always helps to solve real problems.

  • I am non religious, non christian and totally against Church. My 12 year old son attends church weekly . I dont have a problem with it at all. Its his decision.

  • anti theist??? Explain please.

  • There's something wrong with people bringing up their children to follow a certain religion and have faith? You call that "indoctrination"? Take a look at North Korea- where the government forced people to mourn the "loss" of their "Dear Leader". Now THAT is indoctrination. Parents need to raise their children and guide them through life. That's what parenting is all about- growing and guiding. Also, take a look at what society is turning kids into. It's sick.

  • So not allowing your kid to sing a song that mentions heaven seems to me that you are indoctrinating him into your own beliefs. Sounds like your brainwashing your kid to be an atheist. Just as guilty as religious indoctrination!

  • @xtroxtro1 Did you even watch the video? :/ She won't allow him to sing songs regarding niether religious concepts NOR atheistic concepts until he's old enough to *form his own opinion* and discuss the arguments for and against each. And that's indoctrination? Sounds like smart parenting to me.

  • @xtroxtro1 idiot

  • @xtroxtro1 Not really since a child is born atheist

  • Comment removed

  • @xtroxtro1 I know lol

  • I agree . This is why I flipped out when someone gave my 4 yr old a children's bible.

  • Just thought I would Add that i don't infer you are an ignorant person, but i do suggest you are wilflully ignorant of the details of Evolution because it contradicts your beliefs. I've seen this all around me all my life even from otherwise very intelligent people and i know it well for what it is. I have also learned the futility of debate with someone who refuses to educate themselves on the subject of debate

  • I'll just add that as an non theist I could spend the next million years discussing science with you or the merits of Evolution, all of which you will refute as unproven without eve making any effort to understand what Evolution is and how it works or what the evidence is. Incredibly at the same time you champion a cause that provides absolutely no evidence whatsoever. Intelligent Design? Wheres your evidence? Yours is a FAITH position so carries the burden of Evidence

  • C14 is one dating technique and it fails if you analyze the wrong material, It is one of very many from which consensus is gained. Seriously we got go through this on youtube comments, you have to go and educate yourself. Your half ape half man argument is ridiculous as is amimals with 80 year life cycles like humans changing into other things before your eyes. You have no understanding of Evolution whatsoever, very typical of creationists. I don't have time to teach you, go and learn. PEACE

  • aren't ulcers caused from worrying... or shit in your mouth? just sayin!

  • Angie, having heard your "Godless Bitches" podcast interview yesterday, I want to express my deep admiration for you. I had it so much easier. It is inspiring to hear stories of redemption and escape such as your escape from your grandma's deadly nut-job cult. Congratulations. I used to be a passive atheist, but stories like yours and Dan Barker's (ffrf.org) have turned me to anti-theism too. As Dan's mother observed, the greatest benefit of escape from a cult is not having to hate anymore.

  • I disagree that either song is wrong. In both cases, the parent and child are having fun with each other. What's wrong is insisting the child go or not go to church and denying them the opportunity to choose with whom to hang out. What's wrong is restricting what books or TV shows, or YouTube videos the kid gets to read or watch. It is natural for parents of all ideological stripes to share their favorite child oriented songs with their kids.

  • How is this even a video? My teeth hurt after seeing your stupid face spew out stupid words.

  • Maybe you should see a dentist! :)

  • This kind of personal integrity really impresses me.

  • You are Inspirational Angie and I agree with your comments in this Video. I dont want my Children Indoctrinated. They can learn right from wrong and to love their fellow humans and all animal relations without the ludicrous indoctrination of ignorant stone age myths.

Whoever in the comments below stating that children are indoctrinated in Evolution, seriously are you for real? Teaching proven facts, supported by evidence is not indoctrination. It is Enlightenment [Born Again Anti-Theist]

  • This argument is the stupidest one that atheists make. Even when I was an atheist I could see that. It's your job as a parent to "indoctrinate" your children and the most indoctrinating you will do will be the stuff you aren't doing on purpose. In the olden days it was called teaching, or training. And from the nonsense I hear from atheists, apparently more parents should be teaching about God because a lot of atheists don't even know what they claim to not believe in.

  • @WirtyDord It is NOT your job as a parent to 'indoctrinate' children. Thats mad! It is your Job to teach them how to think, not what to think. Let me guess: Your kids believe all the same Myths you do? Years from now you will try to kid us it was their choice and deny it is an unfortunate accident of birth Geography for them. I hope that years from now your kids find the enlightenment and the courage that Angie did to break free. And yes I had a religious upbringing, not so extreme as angie's

  • You mean indoctrination in things they dont understand like....evolution? Or just ideas you dont agree with. "Try not to indoctrinate your children" That is the most irresponsible, and incoherent sentence I have ever heard anyone make. You have a right to make it...and I dont hate you...Im not going to march in the street to end your right to say what you want to say...but that is pretty stupid.

  • @PastorEaster Look up Indoctrination on Wikipedia or in a dictionary. Educate yourself before calling others stupid. Some of the stupid comments on this video are astounding

  • @XabiAlonsosCousin So the theory of evolution is taught in schools WITH an opposing view? NOT! It's taught as FACT with no room for argument. That's the definition of indoctrination. At least President Bush tried to get Intelligent Design taught alongside the theory of evolution. Everything you believe and I believe is based on faith. Your faith is in what man has written. My faith is in what God has written.

  • @TriviaMaster

Evolution, if taught well, is never without opposing views as to the details of how the process works. The theory of evolution itself evolves (as does (slowly) religious belief). No evidence based views support Intelligent Design. Science is by definition evidence based. I'm in favor of teaching the Bible, Koran, and Torah in English and Comparative religion classes as 3 of many competing faith based belief systems, but none of these belong in science class.

  • @ullrichfischer "If" is the biggest two-letter word in the English language. No such thing as evolution taught well. Tell me, what scientist was alive to see that single-celled amoeba grow legs and crawl out of the water? Evolution is man's best guess, not his evidence. It is an attempt to explain what can only be explained by God. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 KJV

  • @ullrichfischer Also, if you really want to see it, you'll find that there is scientific evidence that supports the Bible.

  • @TriviaMaster What opposing view should be taught with the FACT of evolution? There is Masses of DNA, Evidence, Fossil Evidence and other evidence for Evolution. Its isn't an idea that popped into someones head then entered text books untested. What is 'Intelligent Design''?? Or more importantly, where is your evidence for it? Everything YOU believe is based on faith.and the writings of ignorant, superstitious men who knew no better. I don't 'believe' anything without Evidence

  • @XabiAlonsosCousin So if it's in a textbook, it must be true? You're saying that everything ever written in a textbook is FACT WITHOUT ERROR? And we all know that no conclusion drawn from evidence found has ever been wrong. Textbooks are revised all the time. Hundreds of years ago, scientists believed the Earth was flat. Secular scientists can't even explain how life exists! Basic life needs a minimum of 200 proteins. Each protein can have 20 to 1000's of amino acids

  • @XabiAlonsosCousin that must be present AND in the correct order. That's a one in a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion chance for basic life to exist. That's not dumb luck or random chance. Here's another thing...if evolution is how we got here, why did it stop? Why don't we see monkeys turning into men and walking out of the jungle?

  • @TriviaMaster Im a bit staggered that you are still accusing ME of being the one who believes something just because it is written. That is YOU friend, but still I respect you for your beliefs, just not the beliefs themselves. I already stated there is masses of evidence for evolution, some of which I have seen and studied. We can even watch Evolution and Natural selection/Random change live in HIV sufferers as the disease Evolves and mutates with a timescale of days and this is Proven..>

  • @TriviaMaster > the fact is that you don't understand what you are arguing against. I have at least read the Bible, Can you honestly tell me you have any understanding of evolution or the scientific method? If you did you wouldn't make claims of me like "So if it's in a textbook, it must be true? You're saying that everything ever written in a textbook is FACT WITHOUT ERROR?" or ask questions such as " Why don't we see monkeys turning into men and walking out of the jungle?"

  • @XabiAlonsosCousin By scientific method you mean ask a question, do research, propose hypothesis, test hypothesis by experiment, analyze and draw conclusion, and communicate your results? No, I don't know what that is. One of the basis of evolutionary theory is C14 dating which has been PROVEN to be inaccurate. All I've done is ask you about your own statements for which you don't have answer.

  • @TriviaMaster >3 replies that took. That's the point i'm making. You assume that Evolution itself is some evil alternative dreamed up to the Bibles Creation story anf refuse to educate and sadly probably your children too. There is a huge pile of information available to you. Study it and see for yourself why and how we know what we know. Strawman arguments are a waste of time. If you really want to take your blinkers off I can help you, but till then I cant discuss Evolution with you

  • @XabiAlonsosCousin Evolutionists try to say that we don't see men walking out of the jungle because it's too slow for us to see. That is a weak argument at best. Recorded human history goes back thousands of years. Why is it that we haven't seen half man/half ape colonies in that time? If evolution happens every day as you believe, why don't we see those things? You can't explain it and yet you call ME names and say I have blinkers(you meant blinders...LOL) on.

  • @XabiAlonsosCousin My apologies. Although you inferred my ignorance. You did NOT call me names. I retract that statement.

  • Christian parents teach their children about God and show them a Godly example by living what we teach. We are human and we make mistakes. My sons memorize Bible verses and we go to church faithfully, but the decision to accept Christ is theirs. That's how God intended it from the beginning. He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden and gave them a free will. Life down here is full of choices. Where we spend eternity is also a choice. I pray you make the right one.

  • @TriviaMaster I agree 100%. It us our job to teach our children the ways of the Father, but only they can have a personal relationship with him.

  • Wow. What a revolutionary free thinker you are!!! So when my sons want play in the street I should let them because even though I believe playing the street is dangerous doesn't mean that THEY believe it is. To force them back into the yard would be INDOCTRINATION. I should let them play out there and learn the lesson for themselves. I believe stealing, murder, and lying are all wrong, but I shouldn't tell them because that would be INDOCTRINATION. You are truly wise beyond your 25 years.

  • What makes you think your are in a position to advise people not to "indoctrinate" their children with religion? People of faith are generally happy, kindly, loving individuals which is often a result of their faith. Part of loving God is to be a loving person & love your neighbor. Parents want to pass on the treasure of their faith. Do you have a degree in theology? I rather doubt it. What kind of religious background do you have, and how many years of training in religion do you have?

  • @grandmajoyce2 I agree there's a video on here about an atheists summer camp ages 7-17 and basically tells the kids to be critical of the concepts of God and religion relying on critical thinking skills alone.Critical Thinking is great learn but the first time someone like this girl tells me not to take my kid to Church or mention God to them... well lets it won't be pretty.

  • but we have no complete knowledge of whats wrong and right remember just cuz it feels right dosent mean it is right remember he aint pleased with us but he sees every one of us like his son :) remeber "he loves you so dont turn away you are the fire but wont burn into flames"remeber if you really trust him put your faith in him so if something bad happens just know he has better things planned for you and he knows best remember big difference jesus and religion:))) peace is found in him=truth

  • Jesus died for u angie,he didn't die for nothing

  • YOUR DISGUSTING!!

  • Have you ever watched a TV show or film as a child, then a few years later after some growing up you watch it again and you suddenly realize an adult theme, that as a child you just didn't pick up on at all? Well, children listen to a song and it's just all about the tune, the sound of the words and the rhythm. Most people in general hear the song but they probably don't hear the message. I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Now you're actually charging people & profiting from spreading evil? Godless people will pay on judgement day when God appears. It'll be too late for you then.

  • You make me sick. Sounds like you body's turning on you too. Do you know what indoctrination is you beast? Public schools are indeed indoctrinating our young children, but quite the opposite in the manner you describe. From as early as kindergarten, teachers have to teach that homosexuality is fine. It's not! It's my right to teach morals. Not the schools. They teach that there's no right or wrong. Just be who you want to be. BS. Children need guidance. They can't even sing Xmas carol's in school

  • @lonardozee

You are one sad excuse for a human being. I hope people that know you don't agree with your intolerance and ways of hatred.

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk You are the sad, intolerant one. You're intolerant of christians. You're intolerant of my views. You're intolerant of traditional family values. The same kind of values that children flourished under. Your liberal, feminist, bias views are intolerant of anything but. That's the irony. If people don't agree with your views, then they're intolerant? People like you kill their babies before they even have a chance to take their 1st breath. Intolerant feminist!

  • @lonardozee

Traditional family values? What are we, in the dark ages? Let me guess... you're against gay marriage and interracial marriage? Also against divorce.... and the ability of people to rid themselves of essentially something that is a parasite, from their body? Not a baby.

How the flying f*** do you get "feminist" out of my words? Imbecile.

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk Ooooh, I love it when I strike a chord! You do indeed prove to be the intolerant one. Thank you for making my point!

  • @lonardozee

You must be looking in a mirror, when you use the word intolerant, because you're the only intolerant person in sight. I'm not the one against human rights, here.

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk okay, I'm using a bratty kids voice now "Takes one to know one" aaaaaahhhhhhaaaaahhhhhhaaaa!hhhaaaahhhaaa !!! You can't stand the fact that you're intolerant. You''re intolerant of EVERYBODY that doesn't think the way you do. Time to check your reality. You don't have to look in the mirror to do it.

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk It looks like I'm not the only one that has deemed you to be intolerant, according to your comments section. You may want to delete that conversation?

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk P.S. Keep advertising the Atheists videos so we can all see what an evil person she is, as are her followers. AHAHAHAH!!!

  • Nope. We teach our kids the best of what we know.

We indoctrinate them to bath, brush their teeth, eat healthy.

Just always teach the kids keep an open mind and look for evidence before belief.

Magic is entertainment not a life philosophy.

  • @dsrtdawg1 Teach the kids that their Dads are just as valuable and necessary. Teach their kids that they put them 1st. Teach the kids that there is a right & a wrong. Teach the kids that It takes a man and a woman to make a child. A woman can't teach a boy how to be a man. A man can't teach a girl how to be a woman. That's a fact. That's why every child deserves to have a mom & dad in the same home. It's time we put kids first!

  • @lonardozee Wow, so a widow can't raise her son? That's inane, and how does your reply address anything I said?

  • @dsrtdawg1 Of course a widow can raise her son. I'm speaking of the growing population of women that have kids without ever having the intention of having & keeping the father of their children. I'm speaking of the women that don't value the role of fathers. I'm speaking of women that only use men as sperm donors. It's an attitude that they have that they pass on to their kids & especially their sons. That men aren't necessary. What message is that to a boy?

  • @lonardozee You said earlier it was a "fact" they couldn't and you still aren't addressing the points asserted and diverting the conversation to your soapbox. You need some therapy..not posting on youtube.

  • @dsrtdawg1 Can you read? Do you have common sense? A woman doesn't know what it is to be a boy or a man. She can try, but she can't know how to raise one because she not one. A man and a woman are different. Biologically & socially. What don't you understand? Are you in denial?

  • @dsrtdawg1 Ladies & Gentlemen: This attitude is courtesy of our Union owned Public School Educational System. The liberal/secular attitude of this poster is becoming the norm. The teachers union owns our schools. This union is intolerant of traditional family values & goes as far as re-writing textbooks to endorse their "opinion". 90% of union endorsements (paid for w/union dues) goes to democratic candidates. A liberal agenda that is indoctrinating the young to become lil democrats.

  • @dsrtdawg1 " Mommy, is there a Santa Claus"? "No son, he doesn't exist." He's just a fantasy." "What about the Easter Bunny & Tooth Fairy"? "No son, they are all fake". "Nothing exists that you can't see including God" "You'll never see your loved ones again once they die". "No ones looking over your shoulder, so don't worry about your life after death" "You won't have to face God" "Do what you want, and remember, there is no right or wrong. Just do what makes you feel good".Sad

  • @lonardozee You're a moron, I'm done. You address nothing you just assert bullshit. You contradict yourself. You're a worthless human being. Believe in God, and living forever without proof, believe everything you've been TOLD, never think for yourself.

  • @dsrtdawg1 I addressed you, you MORON! Grow up & use adult language. How many times do you need the "fact" explained. It's a fact that a woman doesn't know what it's like to be a boy or a man, so she can't know a boys DNA.. Same for girls. What in the hell don't you get? Girls & Boys are completely different. Different traits, personalities, likes, dislikes, different brains. You are just too immature to understand. I'm worthless?Bandaid stat!

  • @dsrtdawg1 I believe in God. You believe in nothing. I believe there's evil. I believe there are evil people & anyone that encourages abortion & the killing of an unborn baby is evil. You'll see one day. But you believe in a bunch of theories, hahaha. You're so enlightened, PSYCHE!!!

  • @lonardozee You've really drank the Kool-Aid. Funny how Atheists account for Point 02 % of the prison population and yet represent 10% of the population and climbing. Atheists are more trustworthy then believers.

Yes, her child will grow up without big brother reading his mind to condemn of thought crimes. Her son will grow up looking at the world for all it's wonder and beauty. Her son will live each day and treat it as a precious gift, because in the end this is our only life.

  • @dsrtdawg1 I'm actually a coca-cola drinker, hahaha. With that out of the way, Your stats are wrong. Even if you read that somewhere, you have to use your brain to decipher them. Many criminals find religion only after they're incarcerated. Of course, had they been practicing their religion before they were incarcerated, they wouldn't be in prison. There are exceptions to every rule.Regarding your 2nd point, all I can say is wow, sorry for you. You are an empty soul.I'll pray for you.

  • There is a fundamental contradiction in Angie's thinking. On one hand, she asserts that it is "wrong" to indoctrinate children. Yet on the other hand she has constructed a doctrine that will shape the way her son understands life, God and religion. In other words she is indoctrinating him to reject indoctrination. Could it be her bad experiences growing up have pushed her so far in the opposite direction that she has lost all perspective on what is truly good and right for children?

  • @stuntbaby63 Nail on Head!

  • Great to have you back Angie! Pertaining to the video, I wonder if there's an app out there that would let ur kid choose his own music. I know there wouldn't be any atheist themed songs, but it could be a safe environment for him to explore and find different songs he might like. Just an idea. But hope you continue to feel better and once again glad to have you back around these parts. Take care. :)

  • You know nothing!

  • Wow, it's been a long while since you did a vid. Didn't think you were coming back. Glad to see you back! Sorry to hear about the ulcer.

  • Probably because of your abortion.

  • Very interesting; but why is indoctrinating bad? After all, you do want your children to advance your beliefs, your morals, and your way to thinking (its social evolution, imagine evolution when you start from scratch every time); otherwise they will take someone else’s doctrine very easily and quickly (to fill the void you left). I would hate to think I am doing the right thing by not teaching my kids what I think is right or wrong, and then finding out that my son joined the KKK.

  • @acev1per Right or wrong isn't the same thing as god or no god. You can teach your kids to have an open mind, to think, to question, without bringing religion or the lack thereof into it.

  • @Barkymanschnouzers

I think the point is that you were shown one religion as positive, since your parents practiced, and no other religions. Is it a coincidence that you grew up in a culture that was christian and you became a christian? If the religion of a parent didn't have any effect on a childs choice of religion then the world would have much more equal proportions of every religion in every region/country.

  • That's murder and you know it

  • @rattapax

A baby with a heart beat is a human being, with rights. the government has to step in make laws, that prevent the murder of the innocent children. It's people like you that are so messed up, you think killing a child is ok. Do you have children. Woman choice your out of your mind, so if a woman wants to go back to school, but her two year old is taking most her time, she can just get a big vacuum in suck the child into it.

  • @SolarExavior

I will tell you who I am, I'm the one who is speaking up for the innocent unborn child. Religion aside, you don't have to believe in god to realize, killing a baby is not ok.

Whats with all this, its a woman choice,

Have you ever sat down thought what that actually meant. Let me some it up for you,

Kill an innocent little baby with a heart beat, finger nails, a baby who can feel pain just as you do.

  • @jimg778 It is a woman's choice because only the woman ought to decide where life begins (because it is a philosophical question that can't be definitively answered). Moreover, a government has no right to legislate a woman's body--that is technically slavery. Third, the god you believe (if anything) is in favor of abortions. Just read the Bible and that your god is a genocidal maniac.

  • I hope you find your way to jesus. If you don't repent for you abortion you will burn in hell

  • @jimg778 That's not cool..She has a right as a woman to make that decision and who are you to say otherwise? :/

  • Why Do Retards like you feel the need to express you hate towards Christians. Tell me please you SFB

  • You Are a Stupid Fucking Bitch .

  • Glad you had an ulcer you deserved it.

  • @greatness1406 ...that's very Christian of you.

  • haven't seen you active for some time. you did good video work. Hope to see you active again.

  • Always been a secular humanist, I wasn't aware that people believed in the existence of god until I was five as my parents never mentioned the concept, I did however go to a very strict catholic school which was a whole pile of fun. Never caught onto it though.

  • Great godless days? when gods in front of you try telling him to have a great godless day and my mom telling me about god was the BEST gift she could have given me! if someone said the bridge might break and another said it wont a would u let your son go on the bridge? same with religion theirs a chance as we say if your son as he gets older dosent except jesus he will burn for etetenity OR he can except jesus and die and go to heaven or have a "fairytail in your eyes" happiness too!

  • @udntknome1000 Accepting Jesus or any other God because of the fear of burning forever is not faith....it's simply fear. If someone practices a faith because they're frightened of what God might do to them then it's a pretty shallow faith.

  • @udntknome1000

Pascals wager falls apart when all world religions and/or all possible gods are considered.

  • @Barkymanschnouzers Im not saying youre wrong but would you think im just as smart as you if I believed there was an invisible monkey next to me who cared for me? No you would think I was a complete asshole. Seriously children are more likely to believe what their parents believe. They may not be your only reason but in most cases it has a real affect.

  • Also, don't eat when your upset. Its bad for digestion. A little moment of gratitude before eating helps because our bodies are simplistic. They can either be ready for "fight and flight" or produce digestive enzymes. If you eat when you are in "fight-and-flight" mode you produce adrenalin, and your body has to turn off the digestive switch to do this. Peace be with you.

  • I don't have ulcers, but I juice, and in one of my juicing books, it says you can GET RID of ulcers by drinking cabbage juice. You will not find 1 medication that you can buy that does not say, if you go off the medication, your ulcers wil return. I guess this advice can be classified as indoctrination...sorry...just want you to feel better.

  • @dartigens10 (An addendum about music of my childhood - I only had classic rock. My parents couldn't afford new tapes when I was a kid, so I had Dad's music.

I did have trouble relating to other kids at school, at least initially - they were singing The Wiggles and Humphrey Bear and all the religious songs, I was singing Hell's Bells and Rhiannon and Choir Girl.

The jury's out on whether it had any real effect on my current beliefs though.)

  • I had never heard of this song before today, but I just watched, liked, and favorited it! Awesome! But I do see your point here. Maybe wait until the kid is like 7 or 8, but you don't want to shelter him or have him grow up not knowing about the issues and having seen both sides. There's a fine line, I think, between teaching and indoctrination sometimes.

  • I understand your point, but it seems like you're going way too far.

Like those moms who don't want their kids watching anything violent or anything sexual or anything that might "shatter their innocent little worlds" and therefore they shelter them and the kids are not exposed to real life. In real life people hear and listen to things. I don't think they should be sheltered from it. Spiritualist or anti-spiritualist. Whatever you call yourself I think too much of any idea, or thing is bad.

  • The godless ignorant atheist slave: "We should be teaching our children about tooth fairy and santa and other total lies like evolution rather than teaching them any morals."

  • @AikenBruce I agree!! We should instead teach our children that there is an invisible "big guy" in the sky who will has nothing better to do then sit around dictating your every move and thought. Yes we should teach our children from that "good" book that condones slavery, intolerance, stoning, rape, incest and the ever popular killing of "witches". I think I'll stick with the Brothers Grimm. They admitted their stories were just fairy tales.

  • @milomilo55 Please give examples of verses. If you read deeply, Jesus says "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her" (John 8:7). Obviously no one is perfect, so therefore, He is counseling them NOT to stone. Leviticus 18&20 prohibit incestuous relationships. I'm not quite sure where you're getting rape or killing of witches... As far as intolerance, that is unavoidable. Even "tolerant" people are intolerant of others intolerance. it's a viscous reality.

  • @caitland23 In Leviticus 20:27 it states that persons with "familiars", or wizards, should be stoned to death and Exodus 22:18 states “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live". The condoning of rape is rampant in the bible: Judges 21:10-24 condones mass kidnapping and rape, Deuteronomy 20:14 and Judges 5:30 slavery and rape and my own personal favorite is Deuteronomy 22:28-29 which explains how a man can rape a women, give her father some money, and the rape victim becomes his "wife"...nice.

  • @milomilo55 ooops...sorry about the hyperlinks there...not sure how that happened.

  • @milomilo55 As far as the raping. I don't have an answer. But i never said i did have all the answers... But my bible reference fer stoning comes later than yours. When Jesus came he provided an alter way to deal with sins. No longer was sacrifice &stoning allowable, because His coming was to take the blame fer every wrong doing that we did here on earth. In Deuteronomy it says they may take those people, but it doesn't tell to make them slaves. Or how slaves were to be treated.

  • @milomilo55 additionally, in dueteronomy it says that he "must" marry her. Marriage was different back then, &if he was married to her he would have to provide her a home, a life, they would most likely live with his or her family, &he would have to repent for breaking the commandment of adultery for the rest of his life.

  • @milomilo55 in a way he is saving her life. for if she was still an unmarried soiled woman, no man would ever marry her, &she would be stoned. For that was the law established by old testament values. It may seem crude to you, but it was a different world.

  • @caitland23 Humm..saving her life? I don't think a man who'd rape would hesitate at other forms of abuse so the victim's life, for as long as it lasted, would be a living hell. Throughout the so-called "good book" women are treated as "things" to be used as sex objects, birthing vessels, and chattel. The parable of sodom and gomorrah is a great example of this. The so-called hero of this story - Lot - rapes his own daughters and ,prior to this, offers them up to the townies to be raped.

  • In the bible it says that each of Lots' daughters seduced him and gave birth to a child. Seriously?? How often does one hear of a child wanting sex with their father? The more likely case is that Lot raped his daughters (incest) repeatedly until they both became pregnant (chance of each becoming pregnant first time are pretty slim). The bible writers realize this tarnishes their hero so it becomes the daughters fault..they "seduce" their father and miraculously become pregnant first time around

  • con't Sorry but I find the bible to be an real horror story full of condoned abuse, murder and all around depravity. That it's used as a life guide by so many amazes me.

  • @milomilo55 I'm not saying that i don't value your opinion, just back it up.

  • @AikenBruce

Since you've decided to be vile, I can think of another fictitious character to add to your list. I'll give you a hint, savior-on-a-stick. BTW, science and morality are not mutually exclusive.

  • Saw the disability vid, and what a bummer! If you want to do something that makes you feel useful from home, try Tutor.com. It's lots of fun and you get to help educate kids. Not a ton of money, but some.

  • That, my dear, is some brilliant parenting, strong morals and articulate ethics!

  • So you don't teach or discipline your children?

  • @jt7887 exactly....ANYTHING you teach ur children is indoctrination in that light?!!!

  • by acid blocker do u mean a proton pump inhibitor or H2 antagonist?

  • where is angie? i hope she's okay but i need some more video's.. please come back in piece.. muah

  • I would say that since we realistically can't keep children from being exposed to ideas of religion or against religion, you shouldn't worry and try to protect your son from those ideas but just be willing to talk about things with him. It's fine to share your beliefs with your child. You might be surprised - kids can be pretty astute and while he might not totally understand some things yet, he still might have questions about them. And sharing your thoughts isn't the same as indoctrination.

  • okay than don't have ur child listen to music or read books because you want them to decide what they like first. deprive him from any type of entertain meant that has an opinion until he is 18..... good plan

  • its ashame this ugly skank's parents didnt have an abortion

  • ulcers are caused by stress. your stomach uses acid to digest your food, why would anyone want to block their stomach from making acid? Shouldnt you want as much stomach acid as possible? Try eating healthier foods and drink fresh spring water.

  • You should pray..wait...BOooom!

  • It's not indoctrination if a child grows up around it and eventually embraces it. I know many people who grew up in the church and didn't become Christians. just because your son learns a song on his own of a particular belief, it doesn't make him brainwashed.

if your son ever embraced Christianity, how would you feel?

  • @freedompeacesoul

But isn't growing up around a religion the reason that people in Pakistan tend to grow up muslim? If it's all you are taught, especially from childhood, it will always have more significance.

  • They don't even try reading the new..christ spoke peace and love to his people and his enemies. How is that bad? It's not. He adored the little children and prayed for His persecutors..something none of us would do because we love revenge for some reason. My point is, don't go off what others say, find out for yourself with unbiased reception.

  • around them or a trauma ended up happening in their life. So they blame the God they lost faith in. Or their elders for having 'forced' their belief system on them. I don't believe in forcing anything on anyone..but I do believe in showing my child the love of God and goodness of God. Atheist seem to think the bible is full of horrible things when most of them havent even read 3/4 of it. They only look at what others had to say and it's usually all about the old testament.

  • I know you said you were going to wait till he is older to discuss God and belief in a higher power, but if you are completely honest with yourself, usually atheistic parents stir their child away from believing in God whether unintentionally or not. A child who was taught about christ and the morals of the bible usually only become atheist later in life because of the influences around them, people began to be hypocritical or maybe there was much oppression and anger

  • Do are you going to let your child choose to believe in God on his own or are you going to influence his life with atheist actions and thoughts? That's just as bad as what you seem to think Christian parents do to their children dontcha think? Are you going to keep your child away from anything Christian like just because you choose to not believe? That's hardly fair don't you think? Goes both ways..

  • What a fair minded decision :)

  • she seems to think all Christians are the same.

  • My mum did an awesome job raising me, didn't speak a word about religion and still hasn't, I really don't even know what she believes in to tell the truth. I figured out that god doesn't exist all on my own, through healthy, unbiased, open-minded development.

  • I don't Angie, I think there is a difference from you kid singing a song and dragging him into an environment of constant mental manipulation. I hope you don't try not to indoctrinate too hard or might find that his unperpared for crap the world forces on him. You have to give him some tools early on before he needs them or he won't know how to use them or what questions to ask JMO

  • No, that's stupid. You shouldn't keep your likes and beliefs from your kid. He'll just know that you like/believe it. At some point he'll figure out that you're not always right. It's not indoctrination.

  • In order for your child to NOT be indoctorinated, you will have to be Completely silent on ALL issues, and ask everyone around him to be complete SILENT. When he ask you a question leave him alone, don't answer it, because anything you say or omit will be an influence. Wait, wait, wait, Silence is can impact his worldview as well, nevermind.

  • @Creationcreed

On the other hand, all questions could be answered and all beliefs and non-beliefs discussed. I think it possible for one to be sufficiently unbiased, if that's the desire, and inform without influencing.

  • @DoctorBlissphd Is that your view on whether you can be unbiased if you desire? Because some would disagree, but you would have to convince them, which puts you on one side, and you have the BIAS to put forth. Everyone has a bias, even within your statement. What's the solution? hmmm. I don't think the solution is not to be bias, but listening and discussing then coming the most sound-est conclusion along with reality: universal truth.

  • @Creationcreed

I think giving an individual, child or adult, the full spectrum of information regarding religion is about as unbiased as one could get. Maybe complete deprivation would be less biased but would be nearly impossible without depriving the individual of all human interaction. That's problamatic for a child. Evidence of this is the fact that comparative religion classes are tought this way. I guess you could make a point about some liberal agenda in academia.

  • Heres the deal.. We have eyes to see. Ears to hear. and Skin to protect our body from Disease. Now you have to know theres a God. But I believe were all on the same stream to the same big ocean. Jesus did exist... Muhamed too They were messengers for GOD. Which I believe is a MALE and FEMALE Enity. After all everything is male and female.. The Bible Says God is love. Love is made when MALE AND FEMALE HAVE SEX. Religion just clouds the truth of the real GOD. But IT does EXIST and is All KNOWING!

  • I agree with you that there is no religon on this planet that has it right, but i must say no atheist either lol. Again, what we believe doesnt change reality. I believe whatever created us and our galaxy ect... just created us. There are no rules, but if you are kind, and loving, you can feel it, and I beleive that is our conection with..our creator (s). Should you ignore such things, you could find yourself king of the world, and still be damn miserable.

  • Agree.

Young children can be taught critical thinking skills...and even a child understands the "Golden Rule".

  • @Whoever claimed Atheism unnatural, understanding child psychology, if media, or society didnt indoctrinate a child, it would be a billion dollar lottery ticket of a chance that a kid touched by invisible holy spirit would miraculously start speaking of a holy trinity. Such a thing NEVER OCCURS IN NATURE!

  • @PayneReceptors

That's an interesting idea, though I think it could have been stated more politely. If a group of people were completely isolated with no knowledge of any god/s, would the real, true god speak to them like he was supposed to have spoken to other prophets? Would the same information about the nature of god be revealed i.e. the same doctrines, rules, names ect? That would be very good evidence in support of god.

  • When we expose children to one religion, it inevitably indoctrinates them. If we expose children to many religions it unequivocally inoculates them.

  • Whats wrong with natural parental desires? I mean your all for nature right?

  • @enemay

Nature, while unendingly fascinating, is not always best. Some instincts, like violence are not appropriate in a modern context. For example, oxytocin is the so called bonding hormone. It circulates in large doses during child labor and when physical contact is made with children (pet owners bond with pets this way, just like a child.) While bonding ensures proper maternal care, it can also cause aggression when a mother feels that an outsider is interfering with a bond.

  • @DoctorBlissphd

While this would be great in the more dangerous human past, it can be very negative today.
