I was at Canada vs Russia the other night and someone tried telling me it was louder than the 04 finals. It was loud, but it wasn't even close to this. Can't wait til we get another chance at the cup! Go Flames Go!
@PortugalFootballer hahaha actually it does mean much, if they're the most hated NHL team that says something, trust me...it's not just me that hates them. lol shouldn't you be watching gay soccer highlights??? after all soccer is just a bunch of fags faking injuries.
This is going to be waaayy off topic considering that this chat blog is mostly full of flames fans. But, I was wondering, considering that Luongo won gold for Canada, does any one think that that will give him inspiration for the playoffs for the Stanley Cup?
Hey im not hating flames.. there crowd is good!. Im just stating the fact Edmonton is the loudest bar far its not a question ask unbiased broadcasters.. and they all say EDMONTON. Its unbelievable come playoff time
do they all wear the same color... i think not, playin in a arena named after a drug store and saying there louder then the flames fan who pay an unruly amount just to get a seat, i mean if you and 3 friends wanted lower bowl seats come playoff time your lookin at 2000 bucks or more, in the regular season its no different, oh and we dont show up to lose 10-1 to the sabres
HUH?. Anyways look it up. Oil country hit over 114 decibels numerous times. Saddledome is not even close to the noise factor in rexall palce come playoff time. BTW i was there in the sea of red vs CHICAGO!!.. and YES, it was loud, but it snothing compared to rexall or the old WINNIPEG arena. its not even close
A group of 7 year olds could make alot of noise in Winnipegs arena, didnt it seat just about 10,100 unlike the flames 21,284, oh and isnt it like 5 times smaller, weird, the ratio there almost spells hey with this many people in a condensed area screaming, we make more noise then those guys in the much larger building even tho they have twice the people, the Edmonton fact you laid out, i will give you that, i cant deny that after looking it up.
Hey man im not here to pick part CGY. Flames had a very loud playoff crowd in 2004 cup run(they where the loudest), but its never been the same noise level since that year(if it was they would be at the top with EDM and MTL). Wpg arena had 15,557(youtube wpg jets playoffs check out that atmopshere its like oilers crowd). Cgy hold 19,289. I acutally know my seating charts very well, and im into the whole decibal levels and loudest crowds scenery. 115DB'S is equivlant too a JET taking off.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Edmonton Oilers Rexall place is alot louder then the saddledome, sorry but thats the truth. Cgy was very loud that year, but have never been the same in the playoffs again. There crowd is dead quite during gameplay again in the playoffs.
where is everybody getting the idea that edmonton is louder than calgary in the playoffs? the oilers weren't even in the playoffs, so rexxal was really quiet. lol, but seriously, calgary is really loud, I've seen it at 120 db.
Bro honestly.. Edmonton is the loudest NHL playoff arena, there is no question, google it up. In 2005 cup run, yes CGY was loud, but its not comparable to Edmonton, and I know this by honesty, and reality. I been to CGY last year for the playoffs against Chicago, dude, that is not what you call loudest arena lol.. its louder then most but not the loudest. Bell center in MTL is ten times louder then CGY.
1-Edm
2-MTL
Rest its up for grabs. St.louis this year was the loudest in there 2 games.
I know that Montreal is the loudest, I think Carolina is up there, but only in the playoffs. Edmonton is loud. Which game did you go to? because game three was way louder than games 4 and 6. I suggest checking out game six against the wings in 2004. quite possibly the loudest game
I understand the cup run for CGY was loud, that 04 run and now adays is not the same atmosphere as you guys had. I know game 6 was loud against wings in 04, all your games were very loud in that playoff year. But Edmonton any game you watch and go to in the playoffs is ear damangeing. It's been like that since 1997 in the playoffs. Edmonton is considered the loudest arena, just google it or watch the games, the broadcasters and such say so, along with the players from opposing teams.
yeah, I know we seem to keep quiet during play, not sure what that's about. maybe the crowd thinks the players can concentrate better, I don't know. but goal celebrations have to be louder than rexxal at the dome, simply because there are more people. tell me edmoton's loudest game, I'll watch it.
we started the trend of teams fans wearing the same colors in 1986. the difference between the "C" of red and let's say washington's "Rock the Red" is that we wear the actual jerseys, they wear t-shirts handed to them at the door.
well saiyajingafuck, go shove your balls in a blender, we won that year, Just cause your fraisers boyfreinds doesnt give you the right to tell Smeags here whats up
Nice creative retort...I especially liked the balls in a blender bit. Keep swingin, Flammer, maybe I'll catch a cold.
Fans like you and Smeager just can't cope with reality. It's my hope that the rest of the Flammer fanbase isn't made up of the likes of you - as the 2004 Calgary Flames were a respectable bunch - ones who didn't cry when things didn't go their way.
i aint complaining, im laying out the facts, our fanbase is amazing, im pretty used to disapointment, but seein as we just signed one of the most respected and prominent defence man bouwmeester , were not only gonna win the cup this year, were gonna do it with the least GA in the league
Mike, your problem is that you assume too much. Pretty much done, while it may make you feel better, doesn't cut it as far as a win or a loss. Let it go buddy.

Uhh...last I checked, the 2004 Lightning won the cup. You know this, yet you continue to spew on and on about how they didn't "really" win the cup.
Smeager, do yourself a favor. Watch the video called "Martin Gelinas Phantom Goal + Analysis" and get back to me.
Better yet, explain how any goal with 6 full minutes remaining would've won Game Six.
Even better yet, please find me some conclusive evidence that proves your assertion.
Have fun.
