hey, after playing this game I realized that when the player loses heath, the screen should not fade to black. This makes it very hard to see and difficult to know where I'm going when trying to find a health crate to replenish my health. Nice game. I have one thing though which I think that you should/could improve:

When an enemy is killed, there are particles flying all over. These particles makes it a bit hard to focus, and I don't think that the particles are necessary in this game to make it good/fun.(my opinion).

@akatsukisunshine Definitely UDK,Unity is purposely made to help people begin in making games, the interface is simple and pre-organized.UDK is usually for more High End Games.That doesn't mean that you can't use it, it just means that it's more professional.Unity is good because of it's"broader horizon"so to speak.UDK has no MMO support and can only run on Higher end consoles/computers.BUT Unity has graphic limitations and features in free version are limited. But they are both GREAT.

it is advisable for most devs to include a violence level option in such game so that children with overly protective parents can play too.

Unity is what is considered an "artists' engine". minimal programming experience is required (you may want to learn some basic syntax though, and do some of the tutorials) and you can get started right away.

unity pro includes a couple of features pruned from the free version, such as audio filters and video streaming.

I don't like the sound of the bullets.  They sound like pop corns inside a microwave. I think you should use 3d models and not sprites. The interface needs a bit more of color I think.. Just a friendly opinion

A few pieces of advice- One, I found the powerup system to be a little confusing, I could barely tell what is what.

2) The health boxes..don't make them JUST disappear whenever you get one, have an animation. It seems incomplete for me to watch it just disapear like that.

Unity's website and forums come with great resources to begin with, there are plenty of youtube videos online to help get started with Unity. It requires someone to invest time into searching out help for themselves, spending lots of time experimenting with the engine before they find it easy to make a game.

I have been using Game Maker for quite some time now, maybe 9-10 years or so, and while I've only ever completed one game, it was a learning experience I felt was worth it. However, it seems that the 3D support isn't so great, so I thought I'd search for something new, like this. Have you had experience with Game Maker? If so, what all are the differences between it and Unity 3D?
