LET IT FALL applies to every industry where these are moved like this, if it gets away from you you are to let it fall do not risk back injury by trying to catch it on its way down. they are designed so that if they tip over the valves will not take the impact, thats why they are more narrow at the top.
lol, wow.......... if i had to wear shorts like those, i wouldnt have to worry about how to maneuver cylinders; cuz i wouldnt work there. lol sorry bro and look at those socks fool. haha. oh thats the problem you work for the wrong company son............
Here's a safety video about dropping a tank: (YouTube) pe9gYRXQTTY
And here's real video of scuba tanks being broken open, then proceeding to behave as bullets: (YouTube) tyINNUaXa8Q&NR
This video shows how to properly move an empty tank around, or a full tank no more than 25 ft or so. Any further, and it should be moved in a cart equipped with a sturdy chain to prevent it from falling.
@aceon06 All safety procedures were adhered to according to Australian safety standards. These change all the time but you would have seen that if you had read the blurb at the top. Thanks for the concern though
@aceon06 that IS how you move cylinders at airgas, that is how they teach you to move them. how else are you going to move a 300lb tank sir? we dont use a dolly unless its 25ft or more away from where its going. and if you want to use a dolly all day try it for an hour see how easy it is.

# 1 you never move a cylinder with out a cap.
# 2 in the states you can't move the cylinder further than 25 feet without a dolly
