If you really want the max torque out of your servo, you can run an external BEC delivering 6V, then it will deliver 168oz/0.18sec @ 6V instead of 143oz/0.23sec @ 4.8V (your current output voltage from the ESC). Then again, I don't know whether a 25oz gain is large enough to go and purchase an external BEC.
@tMac91684 Google for CC bec. You will have to some soldering since the bec will have to be connected to the battery connector. Castle has the guide to do it. Its pretty easy.
Its sounds just great. But ya for centering thats really important. As what John said thats a really good servo saver. But otherwise Im getting an universal servo saver for all hitec issues. A good thing about it is that its metal. -Greg
Like John said you will need a servo saver with stronger spring to make the most out of your servo. If you want ultimate performance you will have to drive direct, without the saver, but at the risk of losing the servo in a head on crash.
The programmable features on that servo will not help you that much since it allows you to change 90° stock rotation, 180° modified rotation, continuous rotation and reverse rotation using HiTech Programmer,
The factory servo saver is weak due to the spring inside. You need to use a Kimbrough #124 servo saver designed for servos with metal gears. The heavier spring will help center your wheels better when coming back to neutral. As for the programmable servo, you will need a programmer to change the default settings if you want. I have the same servo and it works great..John
its fine tmac i would change the servo horn to a better one thow.

@kavisl Ok thanks for the info I'll keep it in mind do you think I should get an external BEC?
tMac91684 1 month ago
@tMac91684 well you could. The castle CC BEC is only $23 and for that you get performance plus taking the load of the built-in bec of the ESC.

@kavisl do you by chance have a part number and how does that install on the car does it plug right into the reciever?

@tMac91684 one more thing more than the torque I would do the bec for the speed :)
