true, but not all of my customers have a lot of trees in their backyards. so I usually just put a bag on the lawnmower and go over it...it's more effective
But you're missing the point since It has a lot to do the airflow. If it blows more, it's obvious that the engine has to more powerful to produce that amount of flow. If you're telling me that, then STIHL is false advertising and the variants of the BG56 (namely the 66, 86) would never be made. They add on these slightly better blowers to attract customers into buying their products. I've seen a more diverse selection than I do with Echo,Husqvarna, Redmax. Sorry for the posts
I would've never bought the 86 if I know it would be a BG56 with the same power but black grip and a different starter handle for $80 more. I would have bought the bg56 instead
The same thing goes for the larger back models. The BR430 is the same as BR350 but more hp and more air flow and same with the BR500 and BR550/BR600 even tho they all share the same cc sized motor.
Put this way. Why are supercharged engines have more power than Normal engines...airflow. Hope it helps
No problem, yes it is a good question. Yes It is the exact same blower. The only difference between the two is that the 380 has a smaller tube at the end, which helps it blow 3mph faster than the 420...but it has a lower cfm rating (465cfm) than the 420 (518 cfm). The BR380 is not sold in Canada
Yes it does, so does the quieter BG66 model. The 86 offers more power, a better comfort grip, and comes standard with a round and flat nozzle. The best handheld you can get from Stihl.
because its commerical graded version...Same like the FS-56 and FS-70RC; they're identical. The 86 is top end handheld model, so naturally its more powerful and more expensive. Check the specs you'll see:
BG56 has a 27cc motor rated at 0.9hp. It blows an air velocity of 143mph (only round nozzle) with an air volume at 418 cfm
BG 86 has the same motor, but is rated at 1.1hp. AIR VELOCITY AT NOZZLE Flat:190 mph Round: 69 m/sec (154 mph) AIR VOLUME: flat (359cfm) round (418cfm)
now 0.2hp between the 2 engines is not much different but when you compare the air volume between the two models...the bg86 has more, which it makes it stronger and more powerful..Sorry I made a mistake the bg86 has a round nozzle air volume of 459cfm rating as not 418.
BG56 is a great blower for the money, but if you're running a commercial business the 86 is a better buy since it's more a commercial type blower. Its $60 more than the 56, but it's been great to me
Hey jon thanks for review. Was going to get my br600 fixed but would cost too much. I didn't know that with flat nozzle on bg86 was 190 mph. Only 11 less then new br600 magnum. That made me happy to hear. Parents got 3/4 acre leaves fall so I'll be using flat sizzle then! I love my bg86. Best blower for the money.
Derrick I know you have a BR600 and yes of course it's not even close to the 600, the cfm is much higher on 600 than on the 86, even tho they still air velocity closely matches when the 86 has the flat nozzle. Not everyone has $700-800 to spend on a blower. Br600 are exceptional leaf blowers, but I've been told by many those are go in the shop the most often for valve adjustments on the 4-mix..
you should get a vac kit for your bg 86

Do you know how to clean a stihl blower muffler
exmarkdude24 4 weeks ago
@exmarkdude24
You would need to take a blow torch to burn off the excess carbon. My friend shows it on this video watch?v=5k_BOK7FP_w

michaelkoolaid 8 months ago
@michaelkoolaid
Mike, I've written the specs for the blowers in the video description
The BR420 Magnum has an Air volume rating of 518 cfm with the tube is 724cfm without the tube. It blows with an air speed of 172 mph

i've seen it. It is a very good blower, but I don't need one that powerful...it's good to have one if you have over 1 acre jobs blowing leaves.
