@lonewriterintexas I can think of two problems. 1) Did you possibly do all the work on the surface nodes, instead of the displacement nodes under the properties panel? 2) It's possible you edited the nodes correctly, but didn't tick the displacement check box. Let me know if either of those things help. -g
There are a lot of ways but a great place to start would be to copy your displacement node setup to the texture panel. It will most likely be in black and white but that's easy to tweak and it should perfectly match your geometry.
@ScottPadbury3D If the effect is showing in your viewport but not in your renders you probably didn't turn up the render SubPatches. It's directly below the Display SubPatch level in the properties panel. Let me know if that fixes the issue. -g
@AngriestAmerican I'm glad you enjoyed it. To create different effects you can try different shaders. Instead of the dots shader try crumple or any of the other, you should be able to create and effect you like. Same goes for the ship bit. Let me know what you come up with, I'd love to see it. Bests, -g
something is wrong, I tried everything you did and nothing happened to the sphere at all. It stayed round no matter what?

Great Tutorial! I am trying this for a planet. Any Idea how to get valleys and mountains as well as craters using procedurals?
Also, is there any good way to show a ship partially buried? Like a ship crashed on the moon.
