@dastank They could very well be the Caspians but it's CGI so it's probably just based on the Caspians, heavily modified digital elevation models of a part of the mountains. And yes, the Caspian mountains are real, they're actually called the Caucasus Mountains, between the Black and Caspian Seas.

I watched this with my dad when I hadn't even heard of Final Fantasy before. We were like "OMG The characters look almost like humans!" I also started to wonder what Final Fantasy was until I got FF 10. That was when I became a fan of Square!

@TheNewEmphinix well, if you wanna get technical about it, they're both based on the real world Gaia theory but the movies version, being an all powerful bluish spiritual liquid thing was moreso based on the lifestream, which had taken that appearance in FF7, especially the Mako and Holy which used the Lifesteam in some way.

is this the same singer as the original or is it another performance of it? Or did you just move the vocals to the front or something? It sounds different despite the volume.

This is the original, it was copied directly from the end of the movie. But I did notice it sounds better than most other versions. Perhaps the other versions (with lower vocals) got their song from a soundtrack cd or something, as opposed to directly from the movie.

Me I don't prefer the vocals in the front so much, at least for the beginning, which is my favorite part. I was mainly comparing this with the vids of the final part of the movie that can be found on here.

Strange that it seems to sound different, but it could be my volume. Is this the bluray or dvd?

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) is the first final fantasy film and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (2005) is the second final fantasy film. But their plot does not follow up on each other.

The plot of Advent Children is set two years behind the events of the game Final Fantasy VII. Whereas the plot of The Spirits Within is not directly related to the plot of any game.
