  • wowowowwowowowowowowowow!!!

Today started off great with this oh man

  • 60otaku3: Thank you for getting this back on Youtube partiularly Chelsa Bridge,Iv'e heard Tommy say on the Dr Billy Taylor PBS show he loved too bring big band arrangements into his solo and trio work.Love the Raincheck quote. From Hank Jones too Huge Lawson I love Detriot piano players. They know the American Song Book and speak the BeBop languge fluently make you just want too sit back an enjoy.Once again a most excellent post kep them coming.

  • Thank you again for enjoying "Chelsea Bridge" by this trio, hremdldw-san!!

I am glad that you love great pianists from Detroit such as Hank Jones and Tommy Flanagan.

  • In my opinion, Tommy Flanagan Overseas is one of the greatest piano trio records ever made. Elvin (on brushes only on this session) is sizzling. (This was before the Sonny Rollins Vanguard recordings.)

Check out the cd with same rhythm section in the J J Johnson Quintet Live at the Cafe Bohemia, also from 1957. Thanks for posting!

  • You're welcome, mynewflame-san!!

    I agree to your opinion.

And I think that this record is underestimated till now.

  • Instant fave!

  • I agree withSimonlarsen.Hard to believe not many people appreciate the beauty of this kind of music. Tommy always played

with the intensity of Bud and the light touch of Shearing, coupled with his own sense of dynamics, which made him instantly recognizable. thnx for the post!

  • You're welcome, perryjthomas-san!!

  • Masterful interpretation. Please remember: That's a blues in C Major, all white keys, very hard to play on piano.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Bruno

  • Thanks for your comment about this jazz music video, Bruno-san!!

  • I can't believe this video doesn't have any comments.

    These songs are absolutely incredible.

I'm ordering this from Amazon right away!

Thanks for introducing this master piece to me! :)

  • Thank you for the comment, SimonLarsen-san!!

This record is one of the masterpieces by the jazz piano trio in 50's.

I'm glad for your having liked these performances.
