I have also bought a Creative DTSS-100 decoder off Craigslist and pretty much have all the inputs of the Logitech + much more on my Promedia 5.1's. Got my Xbox 360 connected and get 5.1 Dolby Digital and can decode DTS and all that good stuff. Suck on that Logitech :)

Your promedia 5.1 will last longer when you install a cooling system. The cooling system will bring down the temperature of the amp since it can become very hot whenever it is on. Installing a cooling kit will prolong the life of your promedias. The cooling kit is available on eBay or you can make one yourself. The sound quality of the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 does not stand up to the Logitech. The Promedia 5.1 has superb sound quality with total distortion ≤1 %. You can still buy them on eBay.

the Klipsch down't stand up to the Logitech's..? You're sorely mistaken..they are what every pc speaker manufacturer wishes there's to be..only problem is Klipsch has some crap CS..try posting on their forum..no one will help you..

@THEJEDEYEMASTER Agreed! I have the Promedia Ultra 5.1's myself and they have been running strong for what.. 4-5 years now and still sound incredible. No problems with amps frying or anything and don't even have a cooling kit installed. Apparently there is the older batch floating around with the amp problems and then there are also ones that don't have the problem.

But yes, when working properly, these speakers are just amazing and surpass Logitech in quality.

@gunit2004 In fact the only way to get pc speakers that sound as good as these is just to get home theatre speakers and hook them up to a receiver then to the PC..no other pc speakers can come close..

but again their customer service sucks ass. and because of that I sold mine and went with definitive technology

Sounds pretty clean. Like others have said though, Ive heard bad things about the amp frying. Have you thought about making a cooling system for it? I'm buying both the pr0media 4.1 and prmedia ultra 5.1 sets tomorrow and upgrading the cooling.

The sub is crap and will fry on you shortly...  Don't get me wrong sounds amazing.. just doesn't last.

Mine fried 2 times too many... Klipsch will only repair to factory setting not actually fix it so it wont happen again.

Mine broke once...returned it and bought a new package...and that broke about 6 months later. All with the BASH ampliflier inside...its definatly the most shameful product from klipsch...I guess thats why they discountinued it.
