@BananaJSSI I've never heard that. Could it be , it was another Terry Jacks , not the TJ of Poppy Family and "Seasons" fame ? I've never heard of him ever being based in Texas , but , that does'nt mean he never was.
@CornyPoopDude I did'nt know that (Or , maybe I read it , and forgot.). I thought this band was from Ft. Worth . There were so many bands in the DFW metroplex , some bands from "Big" D are listed as "FW" OR VICE VERSA ,...Or , DFW bands have been listed as being from Denton , like The Menerals. ( Denton's near DFW , but not considered part of the immediate area - like Arlington , Grand Prairie , Garland ,Richland , etc. , if anyone was'nt sure of that...)
Did this Chessmen play in the Kansas city area? I used to go to dances in 1966 in Kansas City where a band called the Chessmen played. They were considered one of the best bands if not the best at that time to play in KC.
@carthsting- There were so many bands and garage music was so prevalent many got lost in the shuffle.
Sounds like it was recorded in a gymnasium. Great stuff. One of the Holy Trinity of songs from Texas trash rock bands- The Briks 'Foolish Baby" and Shades of Night 'Fluctuation' are the other two.
This band pushed so hard to actually gain right to become famous!
Why didnt they? I mean, this is not some low-quality stuff that you actually like and blindlessly adore, this is really just does not make sence to me why this hidden in shelves. Even early Beatles were lower quality.
@JPeeblesLaRue I am french, it's one of my favourite songs ever. I looked for this song since years and years, i didn't remembered the name of the band. I got it tonite, it is 12 years i hadn't hear it ! SO COOLLL !
Thanks anyway!! Amazing!!
