tales of symphonya already did this and it made the game have a little more depth to its game play but it took away from the over all game play and i find this type of thing should just be left in pokemon because if im beating somthing with a sword and such i dont really want a big slime comming in and taking away party member slots. this is nothing more than a gimmick and it would do nothing for the game if the game uses this to much then whats the point in haveing extra characters at all

To me it's like taking the Eidolons and replacing them with monsters. Which isn't bad at all. Considering the monsters themselves have leveling system and upgrade system like a classic rpg I have no problems whatsoever. @torchicguy What fucking logic are you using? XIII required you to run in a straight line and follow one of then SHITTIEST stories Square has EVER come up with. No side quests, no exploration, NO NOTHING. VII and VIII had a MASSIVE free roam world with plenty of side quests that gave you MORE insight into the actual story of the game that if missed, left out HUGE but minor chunks. Plus VII and VIII's stories were 200x better than XIII's shit stain of a story.

Sephiroth was just dull and soft spoken, like a psychopath.Tifa, Barret and Cid had a lot of personality as supporting characters. The only downfall to VII was that it had a great story that everyone loved, and they milked the shit out of it.

I'm actually not upset about the new Monster thing. Why? Because what class is actually in the previous Final Fantasy games? Beastmaster. That's what Noel is. Plus, it looks like they really spent a lot of time on the monsters. Sure, I'd prefer the other characters, like Snow, Sazh, Lightning, Hope, etc.. but this is alright. We'll just have to see.
