1. you shouldnt criticize the artwork when youself can't even draw something which requires more than about 2-4 weeks of hobby drawing. (you don't have the skills to criticize art, if i look at the anatomical skills you show in your own drawings).
2. his skills have actually improved some, but i guess you can't see the difference in the quality.
3. a week is a very little time to draw a comic page when it isn't your main work.
1. I'm sorry but saying something like that is like saying I shouldn't criticize a movie or a video game because I don't know how to make them.Just because I don't have the skill to do them properly doesn't mean I can't see what could be wrong with it.Seeing and doing are different.

The term "Furry" isn't just used to describe the fanbase.Like a lot of slang or any other word in a language sometimes they're used for more than just one purpose as language and communication progresses.Not only that but considering the majority of the readers are furries this comic categorizes as a "Furry" webcomic regardless of what definitions of the word you're trying to use.

Dude...Come on. I don't read it for the reason your video explained. I like the story and characters alot even thought they are a little cut and paste. Though I do get your point, I am not someone who would do that. I find it slightly insulting that you would think that. Also, the art direction is fine in my eyes. I like that it is good and not great. I find that amazing artwork is sometimes not the way to go for the fact that it seems a little over done.
@teamhedge Actually Tom is upgrading hid equipment(can never remember the name of the machine)and the last 2-4 pages are full of color(or atleast more then usuall)hopefully it will increase even more to where he's not days behind on updating.
Actually you have a good point.As for right now I have some different opinions on all the webcomics I've reviewed so far and I intend on having them re-reviewed.But till' that happens I've only got these videos that were made for over a year with opinions that aren't really valid anymore and with some statements I actually want to take back.

It's odd for me to enjoy a "furry" manga. Mainly because some of them are just too perverted, and there is nothing to relate to. I was recently introduced to this by myself (so call it 'stumbled upon'), and instantly became interested in the story and characters.I find it to be quite appealing, and very affective to a reader's imagination. Say you read some before bed, you could be having dreams of adventure and romance (with furries). But it is a great comic/manga, and I hope it lasts a while.

I LOVE that webcomic, but I totally agree with you on every point you've made here. I noticed his style change on flora immediately actually, considering that Natani and Flora are 2 of my fav characters. (I also noticed that Natani has a white/gray streak in her hair in the beginning, but later doesn't. Simple character design, or laziness, how knows, but yea.) I've seen tom's artwork outside of the main comic, and its amazing. The picture at 5:15 was my background for a while too actually.

Well, an instant change would probably make the comic look like it had completely changed artists. If the change is slow and progressive, which would confuse readers. Also, Tom is Korean, and he grew up reading webcomics and manga, so those would be a major influence to the story and art styles. In fact, he said that Vet on the Net was the first webcomic he ever read. (Hope you enjoy this small wall of text that will probably be completely ignored on this year-old video.)
I try my best to answer each and every comment I get,normally if I don't answer it's because I had no idea what to type.But thank you for the info,as there's some things I never know about at times or do,but still manage to get a little extra pieces of info sometimes.(Plus,wall of text comments are far better than short ones in my honest opinion. :P)
the image is real actually.Tom drew this along with a few other artists making suggestive April Fool images they censored to make it look they they joined together to make a porn site.In reality the image doesn't have anything on it other than the usual TwoKinds anatomy on it,but I censored it just because I thought it was funny. :]
It's only my opinion but I'm more partial to traditional looking art.I like seeing neatly cleaned and detail images of black and white on paper over digital works.I'd go into further detail but I haven't done this in so long.I'll give you a full answer someday but today isn't the right time.

Definition for Mediocre: of only ordinary or moderate quality; neither good nor bad; barely adequate. I think your synopsis was rather accurate. However, I don't agree with your theory about why this comic is so addicting. In fact, when I first started reading the comic, I gave up on it after a few pages , saying "Screw this." and leaving it at that. And yes, it was before the fanservice started. However, I found myself drawn back to it shortly after, and I have no idea why. IT'S BRAINWASHING MEEE!

Eh,I dunno.There's probably theories out there and Tom's probably got either one hell of a retcon,or just a simple one.After all,it is apparent that Trace can change the species of a person,there was even a panel a long-long time ago where Trace temporarily changed his hand into a black and white furred one.
It really bugs me though since cross-breeding is one thing I really dislike in the furry fandom.It's overused and a poor excuse to make character designs over-the-top weird looking.
I'd hate to find out what the child looks like, see I come from ol' pen and paper 2.0 D&D and sometimes two kinds reminds me of The Legend of Drizzt by RA Salvatore. with the many mistakes but I seemingly can't get enough of it.

It pains me to read it how Tom's slaughtered its potential and it's god awefull but this is the second or third time I've complained on Tom's DA about over due strips. Also I have no other comics to start reading and do you know how much the Legend of Drizzt graphic novels cost, well it's not as bad as Do androids dream of electric sheep that costs like thirty bucks for each issue.
Eh, I like Two Kinds because it makes me laugh. Sure the art ain't amazing, but it's good enough to understand what's going on, and I thinkthe random sexy moments not fanservice, but just another way of comedy. To me, it's a funny/romantic fantasy.
I can't stop anyone from enjoying what they enjoy.But as much as people love stating their opinions,I have the right as well.Which is what I love about making these reviews.Even if my comments differ slightly or drastically,it's nice to hear other POV's from people.But I didn't really say anything BAD about the art,but I don't love it all that much either.As for me,random sexy moments can be used effectively,but their effectiveness for a comic as this would be improved if done sparingly IMHO.
tom is in collage as well as his parents banned him from the book for a while and only let him do a little a week. that is why he doesn't have so much time to draw write rewrite and redraw.

The thing I haven't told you all yet is the main reason I haven't been updating Twokinds - I cannot. My parents have banned me from my comic, and to be truthful, I don't blame them. If anything else, my constant and unending attention to the comic could only be described as an obsession. An unhealthy one at that.

@TeamHedge and i don't think twokinds is a sexual tease(it does contain some of the stuff, but not a lot compared to others) Both my parents are film critics and my dad is a director and they have kind of imprinted their movie attitudes into me. i do not enjoy the sexual stuff at all. the reason i think i enjoy it so much is because i am a fan of fantasy stories as well as its a nice idea and i love their relationships.

Sorry to say Frost,but I'm gonna' have to say it's a sexual tease still.Tom's one of those people who draw their characters nearly naked 24/7 but keeps it censored enough so that it doesn't seem so NC-17.After all,some women like to tease guys by showing as much as them as possible while not showing all of them and that's how I feel about seeing naked female Keidran.Sure the retcon is that they culturally don't wear many clothes or any at all,but as said it's a retcon.
And not to be rude TeamHedge but for me I've never been picky with art work. I've stuck with the motto "Drawing comes from the heart." which means that even if it isnt at full potiental try to bear with it. I think the comic is great, it has a good sense of humor and the story grabs my attention. Plus, Tom is busy in college (I think...lol) and thats one reason why its not done better.

okay, I agree with you on so many levels. I heard that a lot of people liked it, so I searched it up and after about 10 strips, I got sick of it and just browsed through the newer entries. After doing so, I found that even more furries enjoy this webcomic. It's like..what the fuck, why? It kind of sucks. so kudos for this review.

I have to agree that seven days is plenty of time to provide a higher level of quality of art than what is provided now, however you have to take into consideration Tom is a college student and college can easily consume all of that time. And to be honest the current art style I find quite enjoyable even though my art standards are quite high i.e. compared against the great renaissance master’s Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, etc.
Yes,it would be quite understandable actually.I'm sure college does take up a lot of time,after all,there are many people whose works I've seen that have went on hiatus due to such circumstances.However,Tom is per say "experienced,the comic has been around for 7 years so I brought up about how his style could of broaden when it hasn't all that much.He's improved,but for 7 years it doesn't seem much.But trust me,I would never raise my expectations too high,I'm not mean like that. XD
Over all a good review but I disagree with you about the artwork. while I wouldn't say it's UBER AWESOME...It does have a rather cool simplicity about it.

It's odd for me to enjoy a "furry" manga. Mainly because some of them are just too perverted, and there is nothing to relate to. I was recently introduced to this by myself (so call it 'stumbled upon'), and instantly became interested in the story and characters.I find it to be quite appealing, and very affective to a reader's imagination. Say you read some before bed, you could be having dreams of adventure and romance (with furries). But it is a great comic/manga, and I hope it lasts a while.

I LOVE that webcomic, but I totally agree with you on every point you've made here. I noticed his style change on flora immediately actually, considering that Natani and Flora are 2 of my fav characters. (I also noticed that Natani has a white/gray streak in her hair in the beginning, but later doesn't. Simple character design, or laziness, how knows, but yea.) I've seen tom's artwork outside of the main comic, and its amazing. The picture at 5:15 was my background for a while too actually.

Well, an instant change would probably make the comic look like it had completely changed artists. If the change is slow and progressive, which would confuse readers. Also, Tom is Korean, and he grew up reading webcomics and manga, so those would be a major influence to the story and art styles. In fact, he said that Vet on the Net was the first webcomic he ever read. (Hope you enjoy this small wall of text that will probably be completely ignored on this year-old video.)

the image is real actually.Tom drew this along with a few other artists making suggestive April Fool images they censored to make it look they they joined together to make a porn site.In reality the image doesn't have anything on it other than the usual TwoKinds anatomy on it,but I censored it just because I thought it was funny. :]

It's only my opinion but I'm more partial to traditional looking art.I like seeing neatly cleaned and detail images of black and white on paper over digital works.I'd go into further detail but I haven't done this in so long.I'll give you a full answer someday but today isn't the right time.

So far everyone seems to think I hate the art style or something because not a single person has referred to my quotes of saying "Mediocre." Definition for Mediocre: of only ordinary or moderate quality; neither good nor bad; barely adequate. Nothing against you in particular,but something tells me just because I don't find the art amazing like most fans I must think it's terrible or something and it gets annoying to have your opinion twisted around by others.

I think your synopsis was rather accurate. However, I don't agree with your theory about why this comic is so addicting. In fact, when I first started reading the comic, I gave up on it after a few pages , saying "Screw this." and leaving it at that. And yes, it was before the fanservice started. However, I found myself drawn back to it shortly after, and I have no idea why. IT'S BRAINWASHING MEEE!

Eh,I dunno.There's probably theories out there and Tom's probably got either one hell of a retcon,or just a simple one.After all,it is apparent that Trace can change the species of a person,there was even a panel a long-long time ago where Trace temporarily changed his hand into a black and white furred one.
It really bugs me though since cross-breeding is one thing I really dislike in the furry fandom.It's overused and a poor excuse to make character designs over-the-top weird looking.

It pains me to read it how Tom's slaughtered its potential and it's god awefull but this is the second or third time I've complained on Tom's DA about over due strips. Also I have no other comics to start reading and do you know how much the Legend of Drizzt graphic novels cost, well it's not as bad as Do androids dream of electric sheep that costs like thirty bucks for each issue.

Eh, I like Two Kinds because it makes me laugh. Sure the art ain't amazing, but it's good enough to understand what's going on, and I thinkthe random sexy moments not fanservice, but just another way of comedy. To me, it's a funny/romantic fantasy.

I can't stop anyone from enjoying what they enjoy.But as much as people love stating their opinions,I have the right as well.Which is what I love about making these reviews.Even if my comments differ slightly or drastically,it's nice to hear other POV's from people.But I didn't really say anything BAD about the art,but I don't love it all that much either.As for me,random sexy moments can be used effectively,but their effectiveness for a comic as this would be improved if done sparingly IMHO.

The thing I haven't told you all yet is the main reason I haven't been updating Twokinds - I cannot. My parents have banned me from my comic, and to be truthful, I don't blame them. If anything else, my constant and unending attention to the comic could only be described as an obsession. An unhealthy one at that.

@TeamHedge and i don't think twokinds is a sexual tease(it does contain some of the stuff, but not a lot compared to others) Both my parents are film critics and my dad is a director and they have kind of imprinted their movie attitudes into me. i do not enjoy the sexual stuff at all. the reason i think i enjoy it so much is because i am a fan of fantasy stories as well as its a nice idea and i love their relationships.

Sorry to say Frost,but I'm gonna' have to say it's a sexual tease still.Tom's one of those people who draw their characters nearly naked 24/7 but keeps it censored enough so that it doesn't seem so NC-17.After all,some women like to tease guys by showing as much as them as possible while not showing all of them and that's how I feel about seeing naked female Keidran.Sure the retcon is that they culturally don't wear many clothes or any at all,but as said it's a retcon.

And not to be rude TeamHedge but for me I've never been picky with art work. I've stuck with the motto "Drawing comes from the heart." which means that even if it isnt at full potiental try to bear with it. I think the comic is great, it has a good sense of humor and the story grabs my attention. Plus, Tom is busy in college (I think...lol) and thats one reason why its not done better.

Ehem. By all means, the webcomic isn't really bad, but as you mention, the comic has a strong sexual side.
I know that the damned fandom is based on a sexual fetish, but I try to tell myself otherwise.
I read this comic mostly for it's story, but the sexual aspect isn't amusing me that much.
A good amout of people believe that the story is bullsh--, but it's fun if you just enjoy it without thinking too much over it.

okay, I agree with you on so many levels. I heard that a lot of people liked it, so I searched it up and after about 10 strips, I got sick of it and just browsed through the newer entries. After doing so, I found that even more furries enjoy this webcomic. It's like..what the fuck, why? It kind of sucks. so kudos for this review.

Love it, just love your review. I like this webcomic because besides being a furry webcomic, it is also a Sci/Fi comic. I also like how the story plot goes on. heheh XD The main character, being a douchebag, becomes a nice gentleman because of amnesia....Hooray for amnesia :D!! I also remember that i watched the picture at 7:20. lol, i wondered what might Natani's brother felt when, umm, that underwear vibrated XD. Oh boy,

I have to agree that seven days is plenty of time to provide a higher level of quality of art than what is provided now, however you have to take into consideration Tom is a college student and college can easily consume all of that time. And to be honest the current art style I find quite enjoyable even though my art standards are quite high i.e. compared against the great renaissance master’s Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, etc.

Yes,it would be quite understandable actually.I'm sure college does take up a lot of time,after all,there are many people whose works I've seen that have went on hiatus due to such circumstances.However,Tom is per say "experienced,the comic has been around for 7 years so I brought up about how his style could of broaden when it hasn't all that much.He's improved,but for 7 years it doesn't seem much.But trust me,I would never raise my expectations too high,I'm not mean like that. XD
