It might seem strange but there is a slight meathod to this. If you look at her eyes while she stares you notice that at odd times she moves her eyes slightly as she moves them across the screen, also she smiles during it, these things slightly move your eyelids and the moisture around on your eye balls, try it, it works for me anyway. It means you can maintain a stare without your eyes drying up and making you blink.
