I think the music industry has a tendency to take a good musician and grind them to death, especially during the periods of their youth. . As much as I love music, I could never have been such a performer, and my deepest admiration and gratitude goes out to the ones who made me smile, and perhaps take hope, even if just for a moment. it's very strange but she reminds me so much of Roseanne , yet there's no blood relationship between the 2 of them. Carlene the daughter of June Carter and Carl Smith, and Roseanne is the daughter of Johnny Cash and his first wife Vivian Distan, so there should be no resemblance at all but there definitely is..
I really get upset when I read bad comments about CC. If you had the chance to "walk in her shoes" would you have survived? She is good people, if you can't say something nice shut the F&^K up. She has been through enough. She is one of the best writers I have ever heard, She is real, HUMAN and not perfect and I am glad, because perfection sucks. ROCK ON CARTER GIRL!

@todd11561 You can look at it this way: When she was younger and strung-out on coke, she was skinny. At her lowest, she probably weighed less than 90 lbs. She was finally able to get off the stuff, and that's when she started gaining weight. Personally, I think she looks great and am thrilled that she's healthy and has her life back.
Is that her mother June Carter's autoharp? I just watched a video of June playing autoharp with Carlene on guitar, and it sure looks like the same instrument.

a mulberry trunk 36" across weighing 3,000 pounds. Turns out a mulberry wood harp does sound good!
