I met Craig Biggio at my job back in September in Houston. He was there for a St. Thomas College dinner. He was a class act and shook me and my buddie's hands and spoke with us. He is a Houston sports legend!!
How many times did this guy say "oh my God." LOL I was at this game. Biggio was 4 for 5 and Carlos lee won the game with a grandslam. Truly memorable.
More than the 3,000 hits, Craig Biggio played with his heart on his sleeve. I am sorry, but you cannot teach heart. It is not a skill you can acquire.
Biggio and Bagwell are the reason that i like the astros and i thank them for that and when i heard the he hit 3,000 i was really shocked and it was just so awesome
okay so that was an amazing night i am a huge fan of the astros and craig biggio he is an amazing guy and a heck of a ball player. if willy taveras didn't get him out bigg would have though it was fair
biggio is awesome great guy to my parents and I have dinner with him all the time he says the reason he tried to take second "there was so much adreneline ,i didn't care if i got thrown out or not"
Fuckin' great moment! Makes me cry everytime. That'm my eternal connection with this team regardless. We really need to bump it up this season in 09. Berkman's still in that damn slump from when we had a 3 day break from the hurricane which caused us to play a *HOME* game in *WISCONSIN!* Biggio and Berkman, my favorites from the Killer B's.

congrats to him and everything great player. but what a retard.. why wouldnt he just stay at first base and take the single. i know either way its a hit. but im pretty sure he doesnt want to remember his 3000th hit by getting thrown out at second kuz hes slow and made a poor baserunning decision... i dont get it
what a douchebag^^^ whats wrong with trying to stretch it out for a double? in case you didnt know, he's got the 5th most doubles in major league history...
I remember watching this on TV. That was fantastic! Especially considering that Carlos Lee saved our asses in extra innings with a game-winning grand slam. That was a great game. I'd love to see the Astros return to the postseason, maybe to a World Series like back in 2005. Be tough without this guy, though. He's going to the Hall of Fame.
i am chicago cubs fan, but love craig biggio that guy is a warrior, hall of famer no doubt played the game the right way, Miss you biggio beating my cubs all the time hahaha.
Great video. I was in San Diego at work watching this game on MLB TV and I went completely nuts when he hit 3000. But how they ended that game, Carlos lee, walk off home run. AMAZING!
Would like to see that happen, but not 100% sure. He batted over .300 only 3 times and was a 7-time A/S in a 20 yr career. On the plus side, every eligible player who has reached 3,000 hits after '62 has been elected on the 1st ballot. (Non-eligible players include Rose, and unofficially probably Palmiero, retired in '05). HoF has high standards - look at the case of Jim Rice: 8-time A/S, MVP, led league in HRs 3 times, 7 times over .300, 382 career HRs, four 200 hit seasons, but not in HoF.
Coach in his glorious days, now he's our school's baseball coach. :)

He's not slow you meathead! He tried to push for a double because a double is his signature hit! And he still can run fast even if he's 41 years old!

One of the greatest players to ever step on the field. This is way more impressive than Barry Bonds' juiced up home run records in my book.
