Love Pavarotti with all my heart... but sometimes he did whatever he wanted with the music and went faster as he pleased. When he did that, to me was like been disrespectful to the music and the others singers too. Love him dearly, but that wasn´t right. Here is one of those moments.

from what I heard through the rumor mill, Ms Quivar isnt the best musician. According to a source where she was cast as Azucena she had a very difficult time with last act duet, specifically with the recit before the more sung section of the scene. You can actually hear her get off in this duet. So being rythmically challenged could have something to do with her dissaperance. I say who cares, fantastic voice.

Ms Quivar grew up playing the piano. Her mother was a piano teacher and organist. The late, great Pavarotti couldn´t read music.

This is some fine singing!!!  Wonderful!!! I love how technically secure Ms. Quivar is. She plants her feet and sings, totally in control of what's going on. She's got thrust in those climactic high notes without getting wobbly. YES!!! I wish there were more video performances of her. Well, as for Pav...we listen in awe and admiration...
