  • I agree. This song was on an album my older brother owns. My sister and brother had heard this song played on the radio. I always wanted to know what they were singing. Thanks!

  • @TheStamplover

How could you not understand singing? Listen to to most of today's music

    Thanks Hwaj5300

  • a great ballad from '57. Nice to hear it again. Might be the only DooWop song to say the name of the song at the end.

  • Didn't know they were from Philly, but 1965-1966 Jerry Blavet played it a ton

  • @boltsyllable

  • @106732

Hey someone who remembers .......I was in Junior high and the school put on a talent show and these guys did this Loved it ever since

    Thanks

    Hwaj5300

  • God how I wish I could go to these dances that some of these posts mention. Alas doo wop just ain't well known in the u.k. I'm glad in a way, keeps it exclusive and kinda special. I have just bought an atco 45 of this after first hearing it on YouTube. Absolutely stunning 2 sider!

  • @pyeblackbox1

Well welcome to doo wop......the best ever music

    Thanks Hwaj5300

  • @pyeblackbox1

One of the best contemporary doo-wop groups is from the U.K.

    They are called the Roomates!

  • @tumsabai1

    Not this group

    Hwaj5300

  • Perhaps, my favorite Doo Wop/R&B song.....I recorded it with my group Frankie & the Fashions and also The Emeralds.....recently did a version doing all the parts/voices. I love this song and there is nothing as good as the original, I must admit.

  • @franklafarostorytell

    Seem you are very talented....

    Great song

    Thanks Hwaj5300

  • @franklafarostorytell

I've never been able to figure out whether they did any other records. If they did, they weren't widely played on oldies shows. Anyone know?

  • @RaananVolesPianist

There are some other song on the tube ......They are from Philadelphia

    Thanks

    Hwaj5300

  • One of the best songs EVER, simply put.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!,MEMORIES OF GUS GOSSERT,

    Thanks Harptone55

    I appreciate your comments

  • One of the best!

  • @johnpelurajr

in my humble opinion........that's all i post..........but I'm slightly prejudice

    Thanks Hwaj5300

  • A great record, reminds me of GUS GOSSERTS shows on WPIX on sat n sun nyte.

  • maybe nuneoero uno close reminds m of the passions just2 be with you

  • wow Hyski and Joe eichhornn played this at the sumney west tavern in lansdale pa.. on oldies nites

  • I used to hit the old Sumney West up until about 15 years ago till the cops started prowling for partiers, but they didn't have that back then unless I was too intoxicated to remember.

  • Hy Lit used to play this song all the time on his Sunday nite oldies show- this was the only song that my dad liked. He was a

    stone Big Band guy.

  • This still gives me chills after 40 years of listening to it!

  • what can i say, the greatest music of all time, the groups that made this music sang from their hearts. they gave us something to remember their generation from. wonderful!!!

  • Thank you

    Hwaj5300

  • A stunner from back in "The Day"

  • Agreed

    Harry

  • What a great recording ! Thanks for taking the time to post. . Danced to this a million time @ Wagners on Sunday - Thanks again.

  • Yeah, I used to hit Wagners back in the day as well as many other "dances" coming down from Willow Grove.

  • Well that's 2 of my favorite songs of ever ever ever,... that you have posted ... my friend you are awesome!!!!!

  • Well Cris

what else can I say except

    THANK YOU

  • Small world.

  • AMEN. I was from Northeast, but now live in Media.

  • I have a sister in law out there

  • This was very big in Philly. I played my 45 to death.

  • If you check my bio you see I am from and still am in Philly

Thank God for digital they do not wear out.

  • This song always brings a tear to my eye. Love how it's presented.

  • You wonder how a song like this didn't sell a million copies. Thanks for posting it. As PhillySouth said, this one has remained popular among oldies aficionados in Philly.

  • Absolutely one of the very best songs ever recorded! It is almost the perfect record!Too bad this group never received the acclaim they deserved nationally.

  • I don't know how you could make a better recording than this, in any era, using any combination of instuments, singers or echo. My vote for the greatest 45 of all time!

  • Great compilation of video and graphics...loved the song, lyrics and graphical work...Lovely, thx for uploading.

  • This one has never gone out of style in any decade or year since it was new here in Philadelphia, as far as whenever or wherever oldies are featured on the air and at dances featuring R&B, doo-wop and Old Soul.
