  • i wish i had a job id luv one of thes cars

  • Best song for domestic muscle :D

  • @pwkid - I think so. Thanks!

  • i woudlnt really call that car trash at first lol .. just broke up a tiny bit lol. i was watching this hoping it wasnt a v6 haha

  • @leafsrule16 - Yeah you're right. I should have worded it different. It wasn't trash at all. And NO V6 in this baby! It's the all american LS1. Have you watched the second part to this video? The video was taken this year.

  • @UtRadioGuy

yeah your car is awesome. at first i was like i really hope this isnt some wanna be muscle car owner with a pussy v6 but that is a nice nice car .. good job. i really like the stripes too

  • What song is this? Its not Pump It by Black Eyed Peas.......

  • @dhart1977 - I don't know why they promote the black eyed peas on here. I had someone else ask me about this song, I didn't remember what it was, so he figured it out and put it in the comments below somewhere. Search the comments on this video.

  • @dhart1977 12 sTONES IS THE BAND CRASH IS THE SONG

  • @Smokie420ish - Thank You! I will post it on here.

  • I have one of these but my trans is fried (no longer shifts out of 2nd-it's an auto). Since I'm unemployed and no cash to fix it, I wonder if I should just donate the thing? Nice car by the way :).

  • thats a sick ride. only one thing is the stripes in the back. doin both the wing and the underwing kinda over does it. but its still a hott ride.

  • @TheLT1driver - Thank you. About the stripes, that's how they came from the factory on all the 99's 30th anniversary. Mine's a 99 so I thought it would be a good thing to do. I really like the look.

  • how much did you bought for?

  • @Tys1997ta - I paid $5500.00 USD

  • Not feeling the stripes without the ws6 hood. Nice tranfsormation though.

  • I would say put a air intake system on its a cheap mod and can add up to 10 horse plus your car will sound better!!

  • nice car dude go on

  • so do you bolt the license plate in the front where the emblem is un the like on front bumper or does it flip to hide it or what ? lol

  • @bigTexStevo It comes from the factory like that.

  • i must say, really nice car. thats badass

  • sick

  • I need to do a new video on this car. I've made so many changes to it since 2007 when I did this video.

  • Btw UtRadio....nice car man...I have been meaning to get rid of mine and move into a V8 soon but I am so damn picky about what I am wanting that the closest I have found is a guy selling a 98 LS1 for 13grand and I basically blew him off...Love the car man still wish people would see the beauty in the blacked out rims vs the chrome on a white fbody....Cheers man

  • nice car i saw on the pics u turned the parking lights on and the headlights poped up my formula did the same thing but had an aditional grinding noise the dealer replaced one of the headlight motors now i can run around with the parking and fog lights on with main lights in their off positions like its sposed to be

  • @tranz15 Ive found on my 98 that if you turn the headlights on (Full on position) then turn them to parking lights the popup stays in the up position...but if you turn them off and then turn them to just parking WITHOUT going to the headlight position...you can run in sexy mode with just the fog/running lights....granted when the lights go up its a even sexier feeling...but only when you see a crowd of people call you rediculous for having "Motorized" lights :) I still love it though :)

  • nice car but you should put the ram air hood on it that completes the trans am look otherwise VERY NICE!

  • Nice fix :] Let us hear that baby roar? 5*

  • Looks good but how much did this cost?

  • dont worry about performance chips until you make major mods, but start with exhaust, CAI, cam then once you get into superchargers and what not is when you get the chip

  • nice Trans Am dude. Awesome paint job. You should check out my WS6. Its underneath the name litemup

  • too bad its an AUTOMATIC!!!!!!

  • Yes, too bad! However I have beat ALOT of stick shifts.

  • Hey its a proven fact autos are faster than standards. Autos are all computerized as to sticks are human and we make mistakes in shifting. Your auto stock should run the 1/4 in the 13.2s all day but a standard is diff.

  • I'm not sure what song that is on my Trans Am vid. I picked it from the YouTube list of music.

  • But if you know how to double clutch, not granny shift, and do it reliably, you can blow an auto out of the water. The autos are computer controlled and cannot shift as quickly as an experienced driver with a manual.

  • Actually their is no need to double clutch with a newer car like these. Humans make to much error in shifting. You will tear your clutch up if you shift like you are racing all the time and that's the only way to get good practice. An auto is better from a dig or a slight roll. like 25mph or less. From a roll a a standard will eat the auto alive. Now if the Auto lets say has a stall converter. That's a differnt story.

  • Well, with kevlar and ceramic discs its much much harder to harm your drivetrain in that manner. Btw, in a TA, the m6 has a lower first gear ratio than the auto, combined with the ability to launch at higher rpm without tearing up tranny internals, so therefore better acceleration off the line. And double clutching helps with positive clutch engagement regardless of how new the vehicle is.

  • Trust me with the double clutching. I asked one of my buddy's that has a 02 WS6. It doesn't help with newer cars like these. I will ask him to tell you why it doesn't help cause I don't remeber. They do have slightly better gear ratios. I still would say an auto TA will win off the line, but a standard will take home the win.

  • Auto or manual Tranny....doesn't matter if you're drag racing street legal heavy. It's all about your times. If you're consistant you'll beat the fastest car at the track. I've seen it done time and time again.

  • That is 100% true.

  • @UtRadioGuy Hey this song is called Crash by 12 Stones

  • @UtRadioGuy the standard transmission does have an advantage so you will be faster off the line 60ft will be better and over all your time will increase. unless you have a stall automatics can launch off at about 1500 rpm and i think thats already roastin the tires lol

  • @djmacdammit Thanks for the comment. I know the auto is faster off the line because that's where I beat all the other stick TA's that I have gone up against. Not to mention a bunch of rice burners.

  • @UtRadioGuy you must be racing rookies lol i own a 2001 ws6 with just exhaust and short shifter i ran a 13.2 109mph

  • Auto or manual Tranny....doesn't matter if you're drag racing street legal heavy. It's all about your times. If you're consistant you'll beat the fastest car at the track. I've seen it done time and time again.

  • Hey this is what my buddy told me in his own words. Almost all newer trannys use syncromesh gears. This means that not all the gears disengage and have to re-engage when you push the clutch in and shift gears, so its no longer necessary to double clutch to match the engine speed to be a suitable shifting speed for the tranny. This was important back in the day because in order to shift gears the gears had to match up just right

  • nice car fuck ford ponys were back in 2010 motherfukaz

  • Back with what? The turd, piece of shit Camaro? hahaha, That's the joke of the month right there!

  • Except that the Camaro SS is the best "muscle car" produced by any of the big 3 right now, with the exclusion of the overly expensive Shelby GT500's. Those are a huge waste of money.

  • I am a die hard Muscle guy, but sorry to say.. the Muscle Era is no more... Quite sad if you ask me :( All we have now are over priced, under powered emission friendly sports cars with "Muscle Car" badges...

  • Except that most of the modern versions of GM's "muscle cars" make more power per cubic inch, and in some cases more power overall than the original versions. The emissions equipment we have today is still somewhat restricting, yes, but not like it was at the start of the emissions era. And some manufacturers build in restrictions, just because they know that owners will modify them in the search of more power.

  • im sorry but no, i am a big camaro fan but the trans am is equivlant to the rs , the ss is equal to the ws6 and the ws6 transam would whoop the ss ass...

  • That depends on what era you're talking about. If you're talking solely about the 4th gens, the RS package is just an appearance package that was available on the base V6 and the Z28 (same with 5th gen, with the exception that the SS is the base V8 now), and was the sister package to the Firebird's W68 appearance package, which was also available on the base V6 and Formula models. The V6 equipped RS and W68 came with the Y87 performance package.

  • Beyond those though, the Camaro Z28, Formula, and Trans Am were all equal cars. Differences were merely related to exterior and interior trim and conveniences. The Camaro SS, as well as Formula and Trans Am WS6 models were all mechanically identical. With the new 5th gen Camaro, you have the coupe V6, and the SS. The RS package is still merely an appearance and convience package that can be added to either level. Perfomance wise, the 2001-02 F-bodies can easily outperform the new 5th gen.

  • @jj922011 You still forgot about the Firehawk man.

  • Looks good. They did a nice job with the paint and the stripes look really good on it.

  • so glad you are rich enough to afford that...must be nice. lucky ass hole.

  • NICE VIDEO.. you should check mine out its from trash to .... just decided to buy a new one. lol im still fixing the other but its gonna take about $8,000 money i dont have right now, again nice video.

  • how much did u buy that for and how much did it take to fix it and rt the SLP part trans ams firehawks?

  • All in all I have about 12,000 into it. That is the car, paint, and all the other work. I got the car as a repo for $5000.00, paint & body $3800.00. SLP approx $1000.00

  • which is not bad thats a nice ass car

  • nice nice... I like the combo white car / red stripes!! :-)

  • I see these cars all the time were i live but they get riced out ........ it sickens me. its sad seeing a fart can, unpainted wide body kit and in black primer with the finishing touch junkyard rims!! fucking ricers I've seen that car 5 times the only thing that changed was the license plate rack and that was just replaced with one of those angled ones ....... I wish they did what you did to yours, then Ii wouldn't want to jam nails in my eyes when ever i see one.

  • put some american racing rims on it n that thing is set

  • I put the chrome 5 spoke wheels on just after the photos were taken, along with a red bird on the front license, and a few orher small details that make it pop.

  • Thats one bad ass TA

  • Damn bro very nice TA!

  • Thank you very much!!

  • GOD DAMN. thats a beauty

  • how much did you pay for this baby?

  • I paid a little over $5000.00. plus what I put into it to fix it up. And the book value on it is not going down.

  • Anyone knows the name of the song?

  • It freakin tells you in the video, pay attention.

  • looks nice man, you choose a sweet car, i have a 98 formula,6speed, r those formula wheels. never seen em on a ta...nice bird

  • @howieketchdem

The "twisted" 5 spoke wheels replaced the older style 5 spoke. They were used on the Firebird and base Formula and Trans Am.

  • I have the chrome 5 spoke wheels on the car now.

  • I know, I caught that part, I was replying to the guy who was asking about the rims that were on the car before.

  • Hey who sings the song on your vid.

  • good looking bird man

  • Thank You! I have added a few things that make it look even better, like the chrome wheels, and the red phoenix on the lic plate cover

  • u should get a ram air hood

  • It is a functional ram air hood. It's just not as high. But I wouldn't mind getting one.

  • Yea I'm saving myself for a Ram Air Hood for my 88 GTA but the hoods are like 1g alone. but they add a nice bit of hp and are like the best form of Intake for these cars imho but I love how you made your ta look badass

  • Thank You!

  • fixin up cars can be expensive as hell, i fixed up a 77 vette, painted it blue, chrome rims, stereo, interior next, engine rebuild, exhaust, and if you wanna know a good way to fund projects like these check my channel!!

  • oh yea sorry sweet trans am, really love the racing striped look on that car!!

  • I have a question....where did you get that antenna from??? I have been searching for one like that for months...lol

  • You can get it at Checker/O'Reilly Auto parts stores

  • google SLR performance chips they give your car up to another 50 horse power increase gas mileage 3-6 mpg and other and they are only like 70 buck good useful cheap upgrade if your lookin for chips

  • You got tranny?

  • Yes I do. Do you?

  • Nope. Im selling my car soon. I have a firebird only because my Uncle sold it to me for 3 thousand. I want to get a Trans Am.

  • Well if you want stuff that wont cost alot and you want it fast there is the K&N air filter, and an intake would do. Good stuff get Long tube headers with the off-rad y-pipe. Flowmaster 80's series (my personal Favorite) is very mean and loud all around. Performance chip, i think there something like Jet V chip or something. Some stuff kinda basic.

  • Thanks for the comment & tips!! And thanks for watching. It does have the headers & y-pipe and it's a very loud, good sounding car. It's got that throaty low rumble to it. Not to mention when I get on the gas! I've heard a lot of bad things about the K&N filters. I'm the announcer at our race track here and I've talked to a lot of racers about it, and they don't like K&N because it lets micro pieces of dirt into the motor. So the trade off for more air vs dirt in the LS1 is not worth it to me.

  • So how much did u use for the whole thing?

  • I had a late sixtys trans am with the blue stripes, thats why I would prefer the blue. Also alot of the cameros of the time had the orange/red stripes.

  • Nice bird. The red stripes look good ,my self I would have went tith grabber blue colored stripes.

  • too bad its an automatic

  • I have driven a stick for about 25 years. So it's nice to have an atuomatic. But I know what you're talking about.

  • Is it hard to install custom guages?

  • Not to bad at all. Just follow the instructions.

  • How did you get those guages in your car? was it a custom install? were can i get some for my 94 trans am gt?

  • tight song bro, nice car to man i got mine running 375hp very nice cars

  • headers throttle body and some 4.11 gears

  • i am gregorysk8metal btw but from my brothers account :p

  • yeah that would be cool my dad let me a bmw m3 and i am about to fix it just like you:) but its all about money

  • and it would be much better if you changed your rims put bigger once :)

  • I changed them to the chrome rims. I would like to go bigger but it's all about money money money. I want to go to 18" wheels.

  • nice car man but i hate automatic cars

  • whats the name of the song??, nice T\A BTW.

  • Just an idea, if you were to paint your Drivers side Headlight cover (PONTIAC), Front license plate Cover (Phoenix), and Lower tail piece on your bumper where your tail pipes come out the red to match your stripes, It would make it look 1000 times better. Nice work though!!!!! Beautiful T/A

  • I have done all of that other than the headlight letters. Plus I have added chrome wheels to it.

  • ram air hood defenitly and then it will be perfect

  • Way to go!!

  • no they didn't, i have a 2002 TA, no trans am ever came stock with an LS2, somebody lied to you, and the engine on your video shows an LS1 engine i dont know who told you that was an LS2

  • I am sorry I was thinking of the LT1 Yes it's an LS1

  • Nice Ghia. =D

The Pontiac isn't half bad either.

  • what year is it? what kind of engine does it have by any chance?

  • 1999 With the LS1

  • I'm disappointed at the fact that it's an automatic. Other than that, I'll take you up on the offer for a race. Should be fun to see how fast it is. Add an exhaust system if you havn't already.

  • Nice... subtle changes but great outcome.

  • Oh and the car steroe you see in theis video is no longer in the car. I went back to the orginal pontiac audio system, ans it looks so much better, not to mention I can control all radio/CD functions from the steering wheel.

  • I've always liked to keep my vehicles stock as well. I don't even do tint.
