this is a really bad method. its good for getting credits but i know alot of people who have gotten demoted back to recruit ... pretty much it was a small mistake by Bungie and people were taking advantage of it

@zoinggo To be honest, it's been several months since I've played this, so I don't remember exactly how, but there is a way to turn scoring on in the campaign menu before you actually start. I think I have mine turned on "Free For All."

@matterhornbobsleds1 I honestly don't know but I'm pretty positive they are not patching it. If memory serves me correctly, they mentioned it on one of their weekly updates a couple months ago, saying like if this is how you want to earn points and commendations, so be it.

I've only got a few commendations and I've been getting 680 and right before I got the check point I got a commendation so when I revert to the last save it keeps on popping up (i'm doing it right now). I'd laugh so hard if it said I got that commedation multiple times... I'd level up from a warrant officer grade 3 to some weird level soo fast!

@PROCODGAMER FYI exploiting a glitch like you are is what got many people's accounts banned or reset to zero a couple months ago. people would complete a daily challenge and immediately disconnect their ethernet cables, reconnect and the daily challenge would be reset but the points would stay. bungie eventually caught on, fixed the glitch, and everyone who used the glitch got screwed. your strategy is hardly any different and i'd suggest stopping.

@tigersrockandroll they are the iron, bronze, silver, gold, and onyx ranks you receive for doing different things throughout the game. for instance, shooting 250 enemies in the campaign with pistols will get you the iron rank for small arms, followed by shooting 750 will get you to the bronze rank. everytime you level up a commendation, you get a good point boost (usually between 500 and 2500, depending on the rank and category).

@gears2525 you are, you're just not seeing them show up on screen, if you pause you'll see your score going up. the better way though is to switch the game type from none to free for all or team, then you'll see them show up on screen

The easier and faster way would be to detonate the target locater, and before the missiles come down back up get the check point. When you revert to last save you don't have to shoot it just rains missiles and essentially in stead of 1 target kill every ten seconds you can get 2 in 10 seconds. If done right you get the commendations done faster and instead of an hour it takes about 25 minutes. I would post a video but it's pretty self explanatory if you use common sense.

You only receive credits from the Commendations though don't you? Sooo the difficulty doesn't matter does it? :S

Do you know of any other ways of Boosting Credits because i've maxed out my commendations for this :L

@ThePirateVsTheNinja no you get credits just killing them, if you get a commendation you'll get an additional 1000 or 2000, depending on which one you get. but the more commendations you get, the less cR you'll get for killing them. those numbers accumulating in the bottom left of your screen are the credits you're earning.

@ThePirateVsTheNinja one reason you may not think you're getting credits, do you have team or free for all turned on for the campaign? you'll still accumulate credits when doing this or anything else during the campaign, but they won't show up on screen like they do in firefight or multiplayer, they'll just get added to your total score

@ThePirateVsTheNinja The higher the difficulty, the more credits you'll earn. I did this on Heroic since I died 5 times in a row trying to get to the tunnel on Legendary.

You do realize that if you set the target locator off and then hit the checkpoint right before it hits down on the baddies you can do the farming a whole lot faster. Just revert to last save over and over. No extra step involved.
