i simply made clear my opinion about Airbus & Boeing. I didnt specify an aircraft, that would be very dumb of me because i am standing up for BOTH companies. Now thank you for caring so very much about my opinion. Bye.
If Icarus had only know what it actually takes for people to fly he would have realized he couldn´t do it without the cooperation of a whole bunch of people, ideas, resources and energy, know how and experience... this video is a great example of how organized large scale production processes can get... just a thought but does anyone know ¿how many countries do all the parts come from ?
they have a considerably smaller assembly factory than that of Boeing's. Great plane though.. I personally like the 777-300ER and 747-400 the best.. But Airbus has been making some really sweet aircrafts recently.. especially the 4 engined ones such as this a340-600 and a380-800 (maybe even an a380-900 in the near future!)
Hooray! Another video ruined by pointless Boeing vs. Airbus arguments. istashrub, i suggest that you close the comments section so people can enjoy the video and not be distracted by the arguments below. Great video, by the way.
It's nice to see a single-deck plane with four engines again. That's how is started with the 707. I know its better to have two engines like the 777, but aesthetically anyways the A340 is great, and it still gets the job done.
I dont know why ignorant people bother to leave comments saying boeing is better. We ALL know both are good. They both have good safety records.NOW I prefer tech not Boeing.Boeing keeps plane olds while airbus tries to put more new tech on them.
@keduardop The flight controls are the only major differences between the two air framers and only represent a difference of philosophies. All of Airbus' fleet uses fully fly-by-wire flight controls, putting a computer between the pilot and the control surface. Some of Boeing's fleet has the same. However Airbus believes the computer should have final say on the flight envelope, Boeing believes the pilot should. Fly-by-wire makes no performance difference whatsoever in reality.
@keduardop Oh and you know so much about tech. I'm wondering weather you just didn't know or your an idiot....... The 787 is not "old". Do you know how much "tech" 787 brings into aviation?
Well actually the Airbus a340-600 is about 75.30meters long, If you did'nt know that a Cargo plane called the Antonov 225 is longest and biggest plane in world it measures 84 meters in length. But the a340-600 is the longest passenger plane in the world at the moment. i read somewhere on wikipedia that Airbus are planning to build the airbus a380-900 which will be about 79 meters long after the a380-800 production reaches 40 aircrafts per year estimated to be in 2010.
in my opinion the 346 can still compare on Longhaul with a 772, (any) 767, or a md11. Dont forget it has over 370 seats, and the fuel consumption isnt that bad after all for 4 burners.
amazing plane. Only because aircanada sells some, that means nothing. Swiss has bought 6 new 343,and we would buy more if we could. This comes from the decision of aircanada, to have a boeing fleet again(less simulator costs ,training costs and easier/faster qualification of cabin and flight crew.
Good video. Unfortunately Airbus is losing a lot of cash at the moment because they are produced using Euros and sold in American Dollars (Wow! That's really smart!!!) The exchange rate is not very good at the moment. Who knows what will happen.
Yes! AIrbus is in Europe. in different countrys they are build. For ecample the A320 in Hamburg. Boeing is located in Seattle ind USA. Sorry for bad englisch
Well. Boeing is from the USA and headquartered in Chicago. Their main factories are located in Seattle and Renton. Another company is Airbus, Hearquartered in Toulouse, France, but with subsidiaries in Germany, United Kingdom and Spain. These are the biggest companies actually. Another smaller are: Bombardier from Canada and Embraer from Brasil. There were another companies as McDonnell Douglas (Now part of Boeing) from USA and Fokker from The Netherlands but they don't exists anymore.
wow, cool, thank you so much for that information. you sound like a real wiz at questions regarding aviation, well the important locations at least. i guess if i have any questions i'll ask you?
happy to see how many people appear to have an aviation engineering degree on youtube. The fact is that whatever an airplane is more or less efficient, if it wouldn't be able to make a good concurence, it wouldn't roll out anyway. It appears the a346 has the longest range, but costs much more than a twin engine aircraft like the b773. Ask companies why they buy airbuses and/or boeing for their fleet, there's always a good reason (for instance a cheaper boeing and a quieter airbus).
really? you think a lot of people have an aviation engineering degree? how do you come to that conclusion?! i would love to find someone who does coz i'd have some questions for them! you, by any chance?
Airbus built planes much stronger than boeing. Americans love money compared to the Europeans you haven't got moral and you dare at other country how to live ???!!! there is that the money you want. Airbus is confidence with the buyer who account the safety on board and thus more expensive
Boeing 777-300ER burns more fuel when take off but save up fuel when cruising. This is because Boeing install the world most powerful jet engine on 777-300ER.

777-300ER caries more people and goes farther, and burns less fuel in the process.
andyplace 4 years ago
No the a340-600 caries 380 people and goes 7500nm
and the 777-300ER caries 365 people and goes
7250nm.
So no the the 777 doesn't go farther or doesn't take more passengers.
And about the fuel the 777 and the a340-500/600 series aren't from the same class so you can't compare it.
repsollenny 4 years ago
Tell me how they are NOT in the same class? 777 burns at least 5-8% less fuel each flight.
The range of the 777-300ER is listed as up to 7,930 and can carry more people. One example is Emirates.
andyplace 4 years ago
They aren't in the same class its like saying the 777 is in the class of a 747, so no its not in the same class.
And i checked it the 777-300ER goes only 7250nm the a340-600 7750-7900 max with max passengers. And AGAIN the a340-600 caries more people.
repsollenny 4 years ago
Boeing 777-300ER burns more fuel when take off but save up fuel when cruising. This is because Boeing install the world most powerful jet engine on 777-300ER.
PS: Don't stand behind those planes.
