As far as this Josehus fellow goes, is his big nose really to be trusted? (Sorry. I sometimes like a little levity in the form of self-deprecation when I can get it now and then, especially in the abstract.:-)
Okay, seriously, what does the learn-id lady have to say about SIN?
i read somewhere that Yahweh was just a volcano god and thats why Moses had to go up the mountain to ''talk'' with him, and he is described as one in Deuteronomy 4: 11-12..have u heard of this
If jesus had been hung instead of crucified (equally common at the time) would rosaries have a little man swinging from a noose on the end? And would it be called a "noosefix"?
I don't think the video uses the Tertullian quotation as a confirmation of Jesus Christ; they use it to show that he did not exist. If the Marcion Jesus was not a real historical figure, why should we take the others seriously?
For further study on this please refer to the video "Did Jesus exist" 1 of 4 and so on. This video should have researched more history and no just the part they want you to hear!!
This video is an intellectual embarrassment to it's listeners, are they are left more deluded and ignorant of the historical record, biblical history and with outdated lies. The Jesus Seminar is an absolute fraudulent group that makes money off his speaking engagements based on FAKE and DISPROVEN New Age Data. His "evidence" is based on undocumented "made up" sources.
There is more evidence for Jesus' existence than the existence of atheists.
@ibsd Jesus was the ultimate liberal progressive revolutionary of all history. The conservative religious and social structure that He defied hated and crucified Him. He aligned Himself with the poor and the oppressed. He challenged the religious orthodoxy of His day. He advocated pacifism and loving our enemies. He associated with drunks and other social outcasts. He rebuked the religious right of His day because they embraced the letter of the law instead of the Spirit.
@ibsd Jesus was the original Liberal. It was the self-righteous religionists that He rebuked and He called them hypocrites. The primary issues of Christian Liberalism were birthed when Jesus spoke the profoundly prophetic words found in Matthew 25: 31-46. These scriptures reveal God's heart for the poor, the sick and other neglected people through out history. His Liberalism lives on today and the issues have not changed much. The teachings of Jesus are strictly liberal by today's standards.
@dewonderkind If that is what you meant by liberal than i am 100% with you. When I think of liberal today though, it means taxing working people, taking their money by force, and giving it to other groups of people. AKA welfare AKA theft.
@ibsd Yes, that is what I meant. I realize that "liberal" may have other connotations today, so that it is important to remember that Jesus Christ was one of the greatest liberal thinkers and influencers in history, based on the definitions of "liberal? in political science books and dictionaries.. I mean that with the utmost respect.
" and you shall seek Me and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart"
The tomb was empty, He rose and lives forever to make intercession for us, who will pay for your sins? if He doesn't, you will have to pay for them with your own life on judgement day! That's simple enough!
I'd like to hear/read more about the council, in Alexandria, that declared the incarnation of Jesus in 161. Please provide some terms to google or books to consult. The reason why I watched the video this time is to find out if I picked up the spelling Therapeutan from this video (when the more common spelling is either Therapeuts or Therapeutae). Steefen, author of The Greatest Bible Study in Historical Accuracy (available on amazon).
There is more evidence of the Life of Jesus than there is for, Homer, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Alexander the Great , Gaius Julius Caesar , Cicero, Augustus, the list goes on & on. Before making any such video you should do your research first, get solid evidence to back it up. The evidence & info given in this vid is as sharp as a pair of children's plastic scissors.
I find this video very valuable, informative, and insightful. I give it a 5 star rating, awesome. Thank you.
I will say I'm looking at the Table of Contents of The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls. It says Jubilees but the contents does not show "The Last Jubilee." Are you talking about the last of the Jubilees, 11Q12?
@SteefenSebashjun it is referenced as "The Last Jubilee" in some of the material referenced in the credits. Whatever scroll refers to "Melchizedek redivivus" as can be googled

What if Pontius Pilate had given Jesus 3 to 5 years, with time off for good behavior instead of having him crucified ?

I'm not too sure about John postdating Marcion's gospel. Didn't they find a fragment of John 18 (Iesous before Pilate) dating to 117-138 CE?

Tertulian's quotation in 4:57 is refuting Marcion and you use it as a confirmation... another sophism among many in this video.

Can't we all just get along! Of course Jesus existed. He was the world's first known liberal.

@dewonderkind Jesus teaching was not liberal. It teaches charity and love. Not theft from one group to give to another.
