Being the biggest Van Halen fan to ever walk this earth I was deeply upset and worried when David Lee Roth left Van Halen, whatever the circumstances. I couldn't believe it had happened. This, I thought, was going to be the biggest rock n roll mistake ever. And then Roth came out with "Eat Em And Smile" and all was forgiven immediately. I was wrong to even worry. Roth, Vai, Sheehan and Bissonnette kicked all ass. There may never be a better band. They were that fuckin' great. Peace.

I'm finally starting to get it. I think Roth split off from VH as a money thing. With the new band he probably gets 50% of the money and the other guys are on salary or get a lesser split, you can be certain. Can you blame him? One must be stimulated to do their work. But it is pretty evident in the new band the players are hired on and The Big Talent gets the coin. Would be interesting to know the split though this would be private information. Makes sense now.
