How do you think that will feel when you go to check out? And don't forget to add that 9% more to your gas. So lets say you go buy yourself a new 55" TV at Best Buy in Arizona. The tax alone on $1500 will be $294 making it $1794! Welcome to Europe folks! In Germany there is a 19% tax on all good plus your income tax.

Is the 9% federal sales tax in addition to the already implemented individual states sales taxes or does he want to take away the states right to tax? I don't understand, either way does not sound good at all, over here in CA, we pay an 8% state sales tax, would that go up to 17%? Or would it just go up to 9%? And CA would not receive that money anymore?

Im in Calif and 9.99% Fed sales tax + 9.25% State Ca Sales tax = 19.24% Sales tax!!

@globe199 At the last debate he said he wanted to get rid of the current tax system. He did not state that before.
It took 4 weeks for him & his team to figure out why his plan was being critized.
