  • "Oil in the next war will occupy the place of coal in the present war, or at least a parallel place to coal. The only big potential supply that we can get under British control is the Persian [now Iran] and Mesopotamian [now Iraq] supply. Control over these oil supplies becomes a first class British war aim."

Letter to Arthur Balfour, Foreign Secretary, 1918, cited in Daniel Yergin, The Prize (Simon & Schuster, London, 1991), p.188

  • if we all give up our resources and burn the money and "share everything" we will be free ; no hunger ; no wars ; because we have nothing to make war for ...

    The tech for that dream . . . .

  • @CoronaMage topdocumentaryfilms

  • @CoronaMage very good doc

  • Human population growth has got out of control. For sure the % growth has plummeted but from an already unsustainable base. This base has expanded due to the Agricultural Revolution of the mid 20th century which was founded on cheap relatively easily extracted oil.As oil soars in price in an increasingly erratic manner so will food.Starvation, economic catastrophe accompanied by vicious repression even in advanced Western,"liberal","democracies" will ensue.

  • @strangemenssana

Yes and no... Human population will decline in the 21st century for the first time in the history of mankind - for purely demographic reasons (aging societies even in China). However, the future is not for us to see.

  • @moosesteak7

Thats what holds it back, one can think of generating it by renewable energy like solar, geothermal etc etc... only as most know those are expensive, and creating hydrogen is allready expensive when you would generate it with cheap (fossile fuel) energy.

So as long as fossile fuels are the main source of energy the price of hydrogen will be linked to those prices and thereby remains more expensive then the fossiles.

  • I'm not sure what the confusion with Peak Oil is. We've been consuming for years about 6 barrels for every 1 barrel we find.... I wouldn't want that bank account....

  • @MrEnergyCzar It isn't confusion that keeps people from understanding peak oil.

    It's denial.

  • The solution to Peak Oil is to drill more often, drill everywhere. The faster we deplete this resource, the better off we will be.

Lets open up the east coast to more drilling. There are now 510,000 oil wells in the USA producing an average of only 11 barrels a day each. With 1,600,000 wells producing at that rate, the USA will be self sufficient for oil for at least the next 5 years.

  • Human civilization is on a collision course with reality. We're falling off a cliff but we think we're flying

  • @FoxIslandman doom and gloom.. blah blah blah

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. Energy isnt going anywhere. Shesh.. you people need to stfu.

  • @FoxIslandman Well nuclear energy can be used as a Bridge towards fusion energy (whenever they find a way to make it work) And if you haven't noticed earth is HUGE! we've barely dug up anywhere near all the oil reserves.

  • oil is and always was awesome. the fact that it's going away amplifies the beauty of the product

  • @kroovyandcal: exactly true!

  • humans came so far , why let oil be our down fall , let God , Spirits , even aliens see that we can exist and keep on existing!

  • NIKOLA TESLA could have saved us from this 100 yrs ago! please look it up, he created a wireless energy system that allowed energy to be obtained anywhere on earth! i put up info on my youtube and i demostrate a 20 ft wireless transmission to prove that the system works! we could build it right away and get off of this oil dependence, you can run cars wirelessly and never need oil again. please read tesla's "increasing human energy" it tells u real clean energy

    COPY SPREAD TELL OTHERS!

  • but use less is impossible because nobodies want to make s step back in its way of life..and goverments are covering this situation to keep the power...who will be the politician the will say to the people 'hey you have to stop to use your car!!...people are very egoistic, from the small to the big..

  • @acavideo, I don't give a damn about this artificial oil peak theory. oil wells replenish themselves. If you want to pay more for your gas go ahead but don't expect me to believe that oil is peaking. Its a bunch of bull shit and I don't buy it.

  • not question to believe or not...look at the extraction data and look how countries that before were oil exporters, like US, UK,BRAZIL now have to import oil to survive and US is in the baddest situation...look how BIG OIL is not investing anymore in new researches and is investing in buy back its shares(try to think what this means...)

  • sorry 'in the worst situation'

  • Ok, since oil is so scarce, why don't you and the rest of your sheeples, ride bicycles and stop using plastic and rubber products. I'm tired of hearing nonsense from parrots.

  • mmmh your comments are non sense...you really are showing to all the people here that you really don't know what petrol is used for( so please stop to drink coca cola, stop to eat mcdonalds, stop to buy ipod, stop to buy mobiles, stop to buy computers, stop to buy medicines when you are sick....because oil is necessary for all thwe aspect of modern life, please be prapared do step back of 300 years and remember, we were 1 billions in thar age...)

  • Yes, you're right, i don't know anything, we're running out of oil, its the end of humanity, we're going to die. Oil is so scarce that it's only $80 a barrel.

  • just you to know what 80 usd/barrel mean.

For western economy, just to stay up, the barrels has not to go over 90/100 usd, and now it is 80.

When it achieved 150 we all have seen the results....Now, we are in a VERY LITTLE economy crisis and the oil is cheaper, it is normal, but is 80 anyway!.

Next, the things wiil go LITTLE better and you will see oil going up and we will have another LITTLE crash, this until 2013/2015, after oil will skyrocket with no brakes and world will enter in the..

  • @nextlifeguitarist, I think oil will go up and crash down, just like it did many times before, remember the 70's we ran out of oil, people lined up for gas after that oil was dirt cheap, in the 80's, 90's, and just a couple of years ago, oil when up to 150 only to crash down to 45. I can bet my life on it that this pattern will repeat itself infinitely.

  • yeah i remeber 70's but it was very different, it was an artificial situation, now is different.....but just to your own curiosity, try to research by yourself on what BIG OIL is doing.... by their actions they are speaking very clear to all the world, try to ask to an economy student what means 'buy back the shares'..it can be very interesting....

  • How about 80's, 90's, and 2007, were they different too? Remember when we ran out of houses and land in early 2000's? Economic students won't be able to help anyone when they learn from clueless economic professors. I like the way you talk to me.

  • Thanks moniequa......Anyway, buy back the shares simply means that in 15/20 years BIG OIL will desappear from the market and it will be the only master of the oil reserves that it is managing now, so be prepared to pay oil like gold.

So, I am telling you that that we are entering in a steady recession,, it will be very easy to see just in the next months, forget any economy growth and may be, be prepared for other wars.

If not, moniequa, i wiil pay for you a true italian pizza...

  • Big Oil has big money, they'll invest it in alternative fuel, just like Rockefeller switched from coal to oil. If we want to, we can replace oil today but we don't because, why do something else when oil is so profitable. This peak oil production thing is only a hoax to justify future higher gas price. Just look, oil is only $80/barrel yet gas is $3 a gallon, what is their justification in that? I don't expect any economic growth any time soon. Buy something else, I don't like italian food.

  • alternative fuel is a hoax at the moment, we need at lest 50 years to get enough power, and to develop alternative fuel you need energy, and energy is coming to oil...and 80 usd/barrel is not only, is too much to stay up in a long term and 100 usd is too much to stay up in a short term, we will achieve 90/100 at the end of the year..and believe me, i work in alternative energy field, they are only good to light your house at the moment, we need at least 10000 nuclear power station

  • we don't need 50 years to be efficient in alternative fuel and we don't need t oil to produce other energy, we can use solar, fuel cell, wind, and others. If Brazil and Thailand can do it so can we. Cheap energy is over because we're crying oil shortage and we insist on paying more for our gas.

  • problem is that is too late for this.

Ceo of TOTAL company:'in the next ten years the world has to face a very serious energy crisis',and believe me, to manufacture solar panels, cells needs a monstruous quantitiy of energy, electronics industry and car industriy will be the first that disappear from the market.

USA are believing so strong in alternative energy that obama is starting the new nuclear age for US, crying for oil shortage? oh men! if so, why cina is kicking USA in the ass..

  • in all the world, also in Canada! Why if oil is so remunerative with this high prices and speculaltion, oil companies are not investing anymore in new researches? why shell is firing 24000 peoples in oil department?Do you know that China is sufferring black out every day because it needs more power?our needing today is 100 millions barrel/day and we are able to supply only 78/79 and request will rise more, please i am speaking with data! another thing related with the peak

  • IOAR mortgages, caused by high salary people now without job, caused by a economy recession staretd by 150 usd/barrell.

Do you think that USA will have enough money to save 416 banks close to collapse?..be prepared for the hell on earth.

Energy alternative is the solution? well...why expensive wars in all the world for oil? It has no sensePeak oil is hoax? well why some countries has stopped exportation? Why the farm of ex Bush is totally independent in energy? He said'USA is addicted to oil'

  • please if you want to discuss about this, show me your data, showm me the investment of the oil company in new energy(high power energy not solar cells please), show me that in 2008 we didn't achieve the peak WITH DATA please, show me that 5 billions people can survive without oil, show me that farmaceutical production can continue without oil, show me tha agriculture can go ahead in intensive way(necessary for 8 billions) without oil..i show the data for my side, coming from CIA, IEA,etcc

  • Data, data, data, statistic, history, and evident... have you ever read those economic expert newsletters? They are saturated with data, their prediction is almost always inaccurate. If I take a couple of second to look I can find you some data but why should I when I know its a bunch of bull. Your oil shortage prediction base on data what if your data is manipulated? No one knows for sure that oil is a finite resource, not even your "oil experts".

  • at the moment data are saying that 560 oil fields in the world on total of 800 peaked, Cantrell oil field in mexico has seen fall down its production from 2.5 millions to 750000 in 5/6 years after the its peak and these are facts..and please, before to say that oil resources CAN BE INFINITE, try to study the second principle of thermodynamics, if you can contradict this for sure you can win the nobel prize in phisics!..but for the moment, just wait IOAR CRASH coming in the next months

  • @nextlifeguitarist What's an IOAR crash? Is it some kind of report or review?

  • @tagaug....sorry tag i was meaning ARM mortgages...that time i really didn't remember the the exact word( here we don't use that kind of mortgages)..my mistake, ioar doesn't exist...

  • I think you need to learn not to look at data but at factual evident. From 2000 to 2010, without looking at "research or expert" data, we went through, population exponential growth, housing/land shortage, oil shortage, water shortage, and now back to oil shortage. I suggest you stop reading and seeing the actual evident in front of your eyes.

  • in fact i am not looking at experts, i am looking at extraction data, that are independents from expert.....and like alredy told you, is very simple to contraddict me, world needs 100 million barrel/day today, show me that oil production is capable to go over 78 millions like today production, very simple to demonstrate, if you can. These are facts all the other things are fantasies..and oil everywhere? so why making a expensive war in iraq?

  • mmm 2 billons before the wwii and now close to 8 billions you dont' call it exponential growth?..You are not thinking that 8 billions have the right to live like 260 millions in USA? you know that to permit this the world needs at least 50000 nuclear power station equivalent energy? Of course, is thermodynamics is invalid everything is possible...and you don't think that for this right, we will have in the next future devastating wars for the last drop of oil?

  • housing shortgage? i have seen that a lot of people have lost houses in USA, but the worst about houses will arrive very son and and it will affect directly the banks and i am not so sure that Obama wlll have enough money to save them this time....

  • ARM mortgages..sorry!

  • Please understand that we're not shortage of anything. You have to use your logic, stop reading those nonsense, if those economic experts were so good they would've solved our economic problems already. But our economic experts know nothing about anything and most of our economic problems are artificial, they're not real, but our dumb experts don't know it.

  • as you want....but i don't think that arm mortgages are super real..any way i have my little farm, animals, now im making it independent, i have not investment in US so, it will be very fanny to be at the windows in the next months, if you are so sure that everything is artificial you can leave your money in the bank..good luck

  • and you are right when you say that there will be not economy growth, economy growth depends only from cheap energy and we will never this situation anymore, but without growth we cant' have 8 billions people on the earth( i remind you that before wwii we were 2 billions so, during the 60 yearsafter where energy was very cheap, earth achieves 8 billions) so anyway, for sure cheap energy era is ended(gas follows oil), and is starting a high tension era in the world, starting from iran

  • Anyway, because i only speak with data in my hands, and look, international energy agency is admitting finally a peak oil problem(it denied it strongly in the past) .When you will see, i dont' say more then 85 millions/day that was the peak in 2008, but more then 80/82 give me a ring..it will never happen...and 2 million is the need of a country like germany

  • final recession...just wait a little time...right the end of 2010 you will see oil to achieve 90/100 usd...good to invest now buying oil futures..and spend the gain to buy a little farm!

  • For those of you who believe in oil peak, stop driving and stop buying petroleum base products. If you don't, you're contributing to this "oil peak" problem.

  • You're the type if you don't see humans & buildings it's waste land. Their are enough cars to go around the world over 12 times last i heard a couple of years ago. You can't buy a car in China until you can prove you have a place to park it. India worse! You can't learn from these older countries. not a hole lot of humans in the U.S. 200 years ago. You think the U.S. should let everyone come here. You're like a fat bitch crying about her illegal that she's been fucking.

  • We have enough room for everyone you just have to move your fat ass over. I don't think the US should let everyone in but if we insist on keeping them poor and hungry then we should. There is enough to sustain everyone, so go fuck yourself you selfish evil psychotic bitch. Just for that I'll adopt 10 Haitian babies, what are you going to do about it?

  • The U.S. should just keep a steady flow of people coming but, don't let the whole world in. i guess that's how you think. So after we have a billion people then what? One child for every couple and if it's a girl kill it like the Chinese do because they want a boy to carry the name ching chang chong? Your about a dumb bitch! We will have a woman run the country soon then we will fall like Rome. i see into the future, it's horrifying.

  • No dumb ass, I didn't say the US should keep a steady flow of people coming in, if we don't want them here don't go bomb their country. You're so stupid you can't even keep your argument straight what the hell are you talking about, woman president? Why is it horrifying, are you saying women are incapable of leading, hello, Margarette Thatcher. Go see a psychiatrist for your sexual frustration problem.

  • WW1 WW2 The United States of America tried to stay out of both wars. For now on the U.S. will keep the peace even by force. Learn about life a little, you act like your clueless about how unstable this world is. After WW3 the new order will be erected. There can be no freedom with an overpopulated planet. According to you there is plenty of oil, fresh air, and room for everyone. if i'm a dumb ass but, much smarter than you. What does that make you. Try and figure that one out. Room for everyone.

  • Make sure you vote for Sarah Pailin to run the country. More women then men in the U.S. it will happen, it's in the bible. That's how people predict the future.

How do you think Russia lost Alaska? how Rome fell? Egypt? The garden of Eden?

i don't have a sexual frustration problem, when my balls swell i releave myself in my girlfriend. what do you think women are for? to satisfy? to please her? to beg her not to fuck other men? Give her all my money? Run the world?

  • I'm not going to vote for that stupid Sarah Palin. Russia lost, Rome fell, and Egypt gone because every empire has its inevitable end. Just like the US will because there are too many stupid people like yourself try to fuck her over, it has nothing to do with women in power. Please don't equate sex with power, no one can have power over you without your permission.

  • Sex is very powerful, people will kill you for it, animals will fight to the death. and yes women in power will fuck up the world. Bible says women will take the place of man before Jesus comes back. Women are the biggest gay supporters, a woman took God out of American schools, and now that most women don't need a man to support them they're not staying married. Ever been to an abortion clinic? it's like our borders, a steady flow. Rome, Egypt, the fall of man is coming.

  • BadAtt, if sex were powerful, women would've used it to stop war, get higher paying jobs, win election, and control the world. So stop saying nonsense you know you're wrong on that one, why are so angry at us women? Who did you wrong? Tell me maybe I can talk to her for you.

  • Sex is powerful in an evil way, not for good.

  • Sex is powerful to only those who are weak. Please stop hating us we're not bad people.

  • i think we should just keep breeding and suck the earth like a giant tit! only thing that matters is humans are comfortable. i have no kids fuck you people your all to fucking stupid to know over breeding is the problem. (i tell my 6 kids and 32 grand kids to do their part) how fucking stupid!!! teach your bitch how to suck a dick! soon the U.S. will be as India & China your kids will suffer, long over do for all the human cockroaches.

  • "oil is the bloodstream of the world economy"

...and its soon to have its throat cut.

  • Monique where is your data coming from? Honestly, you think oil is abundant everywhere? Please show me where you found this data. The truth is you are talking out off your ass. You have no idea what you are saying and you are exactly the reason America is going to drive it's economy into the ground. Blind ignorance is no defense.

  • we got nuclear energy we can build electric cars,so society won't collapse.

    oil=terrorism, war, global warming.

  • i think i'll take that risk, thanks all the same

  • interesting.

  • One thing I learn about oil peak theory is people are incredibly gullible and extremely stupid.

  • The most outdated philosophy possible.

  • There is oil for everyone please consume generously. I used to be very careful about using oil because I believed oil was finite but now that it is cheaper than dirt I knew I was lied to, so I'm consuming liberally.

  • Do you know what the term "non renewable resource" means? It means that we are consuming and not producing any more of it. There is a finite amount of oil that was created over the course of millions of years and has been nearly depleted over 2-3 hundred years, a blink of an eye in geological history. Whether you believe that oil will run out in your lifetime (which it may not), you need to realize that oil will indeed run out, and according to most estimates, it will run out rather soon.

  • So what if it runs out then we'll replace it with other alternative fuel. I'm tired of being manipulated by people who claim to know that oil is depleting. the truth is, you don't know and no one else does either. So stop singing and dancing about this oil peak thing.

  • Maybe you should watch the film and learn that the energy stored in a barrel of oil is equivalent to 12 men working for an entire year. All current alternative energy sources combined make only a small dent in the demand for oil.

  • Explain why oil is so cheap right now and don;t tell me about the demand and supply theory because when something is scarce the supply/demand theory doesn't hold because if the oil peaking is true, oil depletion is irreversible and oil price should go up continuously not drop back down.

  • Comment removed

  • spoken like a true cancer

  • Oh please go to hell you stupid asshole. We are not running out of oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what was that first stage of grief again?

  • The only person who is in denial is you. We're running out of oil yet oil is now cheaper than water. It makes perfect sense to me, when something is rare it is dirt cheap.

  • Yeah for 1L it's cheaper than water but you need more than that to do anything with it.

  • He who laughs last laughs loudest.

  • I don't have to go see anything, I already know that we're not going to run out of oil. People are just stupid that is all. If you tell them we run out of shit they will believe it, people are that stupid.

  • It is crude a fakening

  • Yes that's right, a bunch of crapola with with cherry on top. People are so god damn stupid.

  • yeah, its true... global warming is total bullshit i have to say... all its takes is a egomaniac al gore & meteorologist on PCP or you know what... i'll do this 1 for the people; the meteorologist was to busy taking in fumes from a cryogenic dewar full of dry ice(cardon dioxide/CO2)... ever try that shit? believe it or not that shit is real psychoactive 2

  • There isnt a solution to save the human race in its current existence. The human race like any species has an expiration date, to think humans will go on forever is wishful thinking. Just because we're the temporary kings of the earth doesnt mean that it cant come to an abrupt end. We've spread like a virus, but the host is dying. Throughout all of history, nature always has a reset switch, and all these towers, monuments and skyscrapers will eventually crumble to the ground.

  • If humans can implement permaculture techniques, and learn to grow their own food and supply their own energy, we can ride this out.

Peak oil might be just what we need to get back into balance with nature.

Check out my channel or google permaculture for more info...seriously, this could be the only true solution for all of humankind.

The animal that can adapt best to a changing environment will live to see another day. We are smart enough to adapt. The time is now.

  • dave ur gay

  • yeah then watch your asses get kicked by the allies if Canada being that Canada is neutral they are allies with countries that the U.S is not. Isn't the middle east enough for you greedy sons of bitchs.

  • "another dumb white man"

  • lol he is joking! - come on guys!

  • great work, is this an amateur film? I thought I was watching "There Will Be Blood" the sequel!

  • few years being, many years as production still goes on just that the demand is shared more and Distillation is more effective. EG. Cracking for kerosene + LPG

i live in UK and if our government is getting VAT from produces money, the government should be taking reserves for future desperation, along with profiteering produces who foresee oil production completely stopping.

  • Between the water/hydrogen car, Nanosolar's new thin photovoltaics, using waste to heat your home with geothermals, sugar plastics, hell, even nuclear, we have the resources and money to create renewable, clean burning energy on a vast scale. We need do only one thing - tax carbon, which is not a good option for the oilmen running the US government! As much as I valued watching this film for pointing me in a direction I might well have to take (farming), doom is pointless. Live on!

  • take it up the ass imperialists!! the empire is falling!

  • Reminds me of being back in France.

  • Movie is now available on iTunes.

  • There are a lot of other resources available to generate power, and other ways to lubricate. In the 1980s an artifical fuel was created that cost about $50 a barrel to manufacture and had very little polution, but then the cost of oil dropped to about $25 a barrel and the project was scratched. Being that the economy is the welfare of the state this is no time for politics.

  • What exactly was this artificial fuel that you are talking about because oil was and still is our biggest energy source.

  • It turns out that members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries didn't appreciate the competition so they started bringing down the price of oil. From 1980, when SFC launched, to 1986, when it was shut down, oil went from more than $39 a barrel to less than $8 a barrel. Suddenly, synthetic oil didn't seem so important anymore.

In announcing the SFC's closure, then-Energy Secretary John Herrington said that oil prices had simply dropped too low to make it a viable business.

  • Do some reserch on Synthetic Energy Corporation. It's still viable today as it was then.

  • Great idea. I'm sure if you do that crude prices will collapse immediately and new reserves will be found in an instance.

  • That's stealing. DVD is available from Amazon...

  • who the fuck cares? we have bigger problems in this world besides stealing DVDS

  • Maybe the film makers care? There are always bigger problems. Does this justify depriving them of their income?

  • ZeroFossil where can I download the entire movie? Let me know please.

  • Judgment Day is inevitable.

Problem is the world population. Soon theres going to be a serious energy shortage and I don't even want to think what madness follows after that.

Fossil fuels are used for a ton of things. It's going to be nasty. We are F****D! SO F****D! Oh well.. survival of the fittest goes back on track..

  • Does petrol have a shelf life?

  • you tube

    The Energy Non-Crisis

  • yes

  • Nope,

The petroleum "jelly" that the Lander that went to Titan, a Moon of Saturn, landed in was only a few hundred years old, while the petroleum and hydrocarbon "sea" below it got as old as titan itself lowerdown.

Oil, Coal, and Petroleum are different compositions of hydrocarbons and come from deep earth like dimonds, gems, and "lava rocks"..it isn't "Dead Dinosaurs" and some of the spent Oil wells are refilling (not fast enough to re-open them though)

  • 6-9 months for gas. If you mix it with motor oil it will be good for 2 years.

  • Thanks BanjoNaps:)

  • sharing knowledge of any kind has got to be man kinds most redeeming attribute.

  • Quite right

  • To Read List;

    The Empty Tank, Jeremy Leggett

    Peak Everything, Richard Heindburg

    The Long Emergency, Harold Kunstler

    The Last Generation, Fred Pearce

and The View from Hubbert's Peak, Ken Deffeyes.

Read a couple of these books by journalists talking with respected scientists in their field and then tell me that any of this is BS. This is going to happen, it's going to be soon, and it's going to be worse than you can imagine.

  • yes you people are, and 9/11 ... look for ''loose change 2'' watch it start to and, then give me a reply

  • I can only hope the next decade will be safe and prosperous.

  • food for thought: at what price does price start to cause hardship? $5.00/gal,$10.00/gal,$20.00/gal.

  • yes! very interesting question

    anyone who has some info?

  • Actions speak louder than words, folks. Big Oil..the Exxons, RDSP, Chevron, etc,., etc.....They have their finger on the pulse of oil supplies far greater than the average internt conspiracy theorist. What has their reaction been to the coming "peak oil" armageddon? Hmmmmm....Well, I know Chevron has taken out expensive mag. ads to tell us that we have used up all the "cheap oil".

  • dont worry be happy the same miserable gits spoiled my teeens worrying about nuclear war !so be positive spend more on renewables and incentivise the scientific comunity to come up with solutions plus a kick up the arse for the motor industry wouldnt go amiss just dont get on jo publics back were too busy trying to survive

  • We need to harness the power of the ocean's currents to generate electricity for the future in addition to solar and wind...

The world's currents are an endless sources but how to do it without damage to the the life in the ocean... that's the trick

  • Do you honestly believe any kind of natural energy can hope to come even close to fullfilling society's gargantuan needs for energy? Their's nothing we can do. And that's that.

  • So you'd rather not bother and just watch the world fall into disarray as we continue to destroy the place? How positive of you.

  • What makes you think I WANT to watch the world just sink down the shitter? If I could help it I would. But all of these useless "zomg nature energies" are just pie in the sky nonsense. The only way you could possibly hope to stop Peak Oil is have a massive die-off of people on the planet. And since no one is going to volunteer for that anytime soon, I don't think it's out of the way at all to simply say "We're fucked".

  • This is why we should pass laws against hybrids you can plug into a wall and recharge with solar power. Liberals are threatening to slow down Armageddon because they don't want Christ to cleanse the earth and reappear as the Messiah. Vote NO to fuel economy laws for cars and solar power. Vote YES to Oil Armageddon and the Messaiah

  • Latte Liberal, FUCK OFF. Stick your Jesus and Messiah bullshit where the sun (that you seem to hate so much) doesnt shine.

  • Reivenne...note the black humour in Latte Liberal's comments. You may want to stock up on some of that as the shitstorm approaches.

  • ok lets look at this logically.

If god, or Jesus decide to come back to earth to fufill our little lives with hope and despair then do you really think that any mere mortals action not even the actions of all of us mortals can prevent it. Assuming you don't when the destruction of the earth is going to occur would it not be prodent to be kind enough to leave a better earth for future generations. Acts of man will not start the end of the world. So think of others

  • Surely, if anything in history has ever been worth a shot, this is it though, right? No matter how useless it seems, to sit back and do nothing is basically sitting back and saying "bring on the death of the planet, cos I dont care." Even if its just to prolong LatteLiberals precious Armageddon, its totally worth it.

  • CaptHawkeye, the only option to stop peak oil does not come from massive population die off. Countries that have significantly more people than the US consume much less. It comes down to production changes which would lead to consumtion changes. Thing is most people would refuse to change their cloud 9 lifestyles and major corporations would lose money and we all know they won't allow that to happen.

  • God hates oil alternatives and conservation because they threaten to delay Armageddon and the holy return of His Son Jesus Christ. If we let Armageddon happen in the middle east we shall see the Messaiah. Don't you want that? Would you rather have forced population control, liberalism, homosexuality, hybrids and solar power?

  • Man I hope this is a joke...

  • NYMEX crude currently topping 90USD in the final thrust of the bull market from 1998. Get ready for years of abundant cheap motor oil and gasoline.

  • I've watched this whole video (or at least as much as I could stand) This is the new way of making documentaries. You find a whole lot of people who agree with your viewpoint and invite them to be part of your film whilst not even mentioning, NOT EVEN MENTIONING the other side of the debate. Balanced reporting it is not!

  • What you speak of is Armageddon. When everything collapses because there are too many of us fighting for resources we will finally see the Lord for He shall come down and burn off those who do NOT follow in His word and SAVE those who DO.

  • God said Armageddon will come. Liberals try to slow it down with solar power, plug in hybrids, fuel economy, public transit, but you know what? You will all burn in hell because you can slow it down but you CANT STOP IT! We will be cleansed of your liberal filth and a NEW world shall arise. In Jesus name I pray.

  • Interesting point you make. Hope your praying helps then.

  • your a nut case........ pray for reality!!

  • Reality? You liberals "pray" for plug in hybrids and solar power so you wont have to SERVE YOUR MILITATY DUTY! You cowards! You have no faith! You have "science".

  • Why so angry?

  • Hello LatteLiberal. I'm not sure that Jesus would agree with your theology. The Bible doesn't say liberals go to hell, it says those who don't walk with Jesus will go to hell. The Bible also tells us look after our planet. We've got at least another 1000 years on it

  • buy guns, lots of them

  • u can't manufacture any goods without oil

  • How are you going to move raw materials and manufactured goods around without oil produced fuels?

  • This documentary was shocking. When the oil is depleted, it will be a very different planet. A must see.

  • I'm looking for a good list or source of all the things that are produced from oil...?

  • hey well apparently there are a whole wad o ppl who say that it impossible that 9/11 couldve happened just by planes crashing into the buildings and that the explosions were setup...politics are horrible

  • Correct me if i'm wrong but there hasn't been a major oil discovery since 1960, and Saudi Arabia's reserves have apparently been overstated.

  • I believe that you have completely misunderstood my post. I was responding to a comment by someone that said that peak oil was a liberal conspiracy theory. I am more than aware of the imminent peak in global oil production and its irreversable decline. However, I don't believe it is a production/refinery issue. This, to me, looks like a short term 'excuse' aimed at reassuring people that there is no shortage.

  • Machinery to produce bullets = oil-powered

Not to mention artificial Salt Petre is oil-based.

    So no.

  • Yes those are viable energy sources, but it will cost energy to make the transition from an oil based economy to an economy based on renewable energy sources. The question is if we still have time to make that transition. Our political leaders ignoring the problem of peak oil for decades sure has not helped.

  • How can they belive oil runs out in 2050, when lots of oil deposits has do be found. There is no garantie for finding more oil deposits, but there is a big chance in finding it still,,so i would say not 2050, but 2100.

  • At current trends all the Crude is gone by 2050. Between now and 2020 looks like a very bleak time... watch Mad Max - you'll get the picture.

  • Soon they'll find oil on Mars... man, that stuff's gonna be expensive then, yet it's still too cheap for the price future generations will have to pay
