@kimche3beb3 She is also hilarious when she tries to drag a stick around in the backyard that is 5 times longer than her. :)

@DxMaster14 yours is probably a poodle mix. my matlipoo is a maltipoo but the vet swears up and down shes a maltese.

@DxMaster14 You can get the eye wipes at a petsmart or petco. They are specifically designed for dogs and cats.

@TheChikita53 Fairly intelligent. Not as smart as German Shepherds or Labs IMHO, but definitely pretty quick. Also sly and stubborn, a deadly combination! But about as adorable as you can get.

@TheChikita53 why would it matter? if you want a maltese, dont base it on how smart it is. real pets are affectionet and you should have unconditional love. i have a maltese mix who is smart, but her twin brother is a little goof. but i love both.

Mine follows me all the time, but I dont mind though; she's a sweetheart :) And thats funny! my maltese's favorite toy is a blue bunny! haha.. oh wait.. was it a bunny or a mouse.. Either way.. Dogs are awesome!

@thatswassup22 She is pretty independent. If we are on the couch, she will jump up and sit with us. Otherwise, she goes to her favorite spot in the far corner of the room and plays with her toys.

brentlyjr is a maltese hard 2 groom because 4 mai b-day my mom said i can have a puppy and i really am like the maltese also is potty traning hard 2

@01fireflies They are not too hard to groom, if you keep their hair short. We keep ours with a "puppy cut", so her hair never really gets that long. Our was a little difficult to potty train, but we started out with potty pads and I don't think that ended up being a good idea. Once we switched her to outdoor training, she did well. Finally, I have to clear her eyes every night. They build up red goop there that you need to clean out regularly.

Thank you. She doesn't seem to like the bunny any more. But red stuffed animals are definitely her favorite. We can give her two exact same toys, but one is red and she always goes for the red one. :)

Your Cali is adorable. She looks exactly like the maltese we had in our family for 13 1/2 years. Her name was Issa, her loss, 11 years ago, unbearable. Even CAli's tail is exactly the same. She made us happy for a long time. I wish your Cali a long, healthy and happy life.

Aw! I have a maltese as well. His favorite toys are ones that are dogs [stuffed animals of course].

He loves the rest, but he goes crazy over the stuffed dogs!

i am getting a maltese for christmas because my grand ma bought me one and my dad is bringing it with him from florida when he comes to visit me im gonna keep it even when he leaves it will be mine and no one elses in this house.

I would recommend lots of walks. Our maltese is so mellow and well-behaved because we started walking her twice a day (keeping her on our side at "heel"). I also have a brief video posted of us walking her. I think this has really helped because most folks say she is the best behaved maltese they have ever seen.
