  • @neonshoji make it EIGHT!

  • there is a reason why america is called the United States of America, together, the north and south, whites and blacks, all races, every state, joined together to make this a great nation, during the revolution, there was the north and south together, in the civil war, there were blacks and whites fighting the south, then throughout, they all fought their way for peace, and liberty, thats america.

  • Barney omg

  • I'm planning on immigrating to the US. I simply love that country. This is one of the reasons why.. they're proud of their country!

    And performed really well!

It would be better in Boston, was drowned your independence with the tea!

  • God Bless the courage of the Continental Army and New Jersey Militia at Trenton and Princeton for defeating the dastardly British and turning the tide! And long live the New Jersey regiments that helped destroy the evil Southern Slave-Power Confederacy!

  • my school has a fife & drum and i dont know y none of them is on the internet we been to lots of places even knotts berry farm

  • @hugoportilloful you must be shit then !

  • Is this not a British tune that Americans took?, Im no historian just going by something i was told.

  • @arsenaljsutliffuk Yes, it is a British tune, although modern lyrics were written by Americans. The British used to play this song whenever marching to a battle. It used to annoy the colonists. Over time the Americans started to enjoy the tune and we've loved it ever since! From what i know, Americans played Yankee Doodle after Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, while British and Hessian troops marched out the Americans played it.

Greetings from a friend in America :)

  • The British used to play this during the war of independence. Some how it really annoyed all the Americans civilian and soldiers. It quickly became a favourite with the Brits who used it whenever they were on the march, quickly warning everyone that the British were coming!! : )

  • @Thekeir100 Haha yeah the colonists hated the song, I don't consider them Americans as they were still at war and didn't have independence. I know I am so anal about stuff like that lol. The song actually is a mockery of the Americans, Yankee = American and Doodle = Fool. But lets remember the Americans took kindly to the song and sort of reverse - trolled, if you will, and now it's become synonomous with the war and of America itself haha.

Greetings from your friends in America :)

  • @Natepianogod double trolled!lol

  • @Natepianogod But even after the war of independence it still annoyed the ,by then, the Americans. Finally I have met some one on you tube who is not a arse and who would not reply to me like this:shut up you know nothing!

  • @Thekeir100 I love my English brothers, as I am assuming you are? I still have family in Ireland and have a big ancestry background in Europe. So I have a place inside my heart for the people and countries of Europe.. in general! So I'm not like those idiots who comment back with an insult. Their just jealous haters! And yes the, by then, Americans still hated it but I meant over time it sunk into Americans heart and they started to enjoy it.

  • @Natepianogod You sir are epic! lol and after all it is just music, even if it says American fool.I am sending you a friend request because sir,you are epic!

  • @Thekeir100 I can't say I could hold a title of being "epic" .. I'm just a guy who has admiration for other countries. But I am honoured that someone has actually called me epic lol. The friend request was greatly accepted :)

Have a great week my friend

  • @Natepianogod No,you are not just a guy who just happens to have admiration for other countries. You are EPIC!Yeah America and Britain should get along and join in the tradition of hating the French, lol

  • @Thekeir100 Hahaha, oh those French! I thank you for the kind words :)

  • @Natepianogod Lol,Don’t get me started on those trouble some French frogs.I’m going on holiday today have a great week.

  • @Thekeir100 Have a wonderful holiday!!

  • @Thekeir100 the netherlands (holland) wants to join to hate the french we fought them 2. thats the reason why the half of belgium speaks french and the other part is dutch XD not bad for such a small country is it.

  • @justmesince1994 Yes Netherlands join the club.

  • You were shooting this on your bike? Wow that is some great camera work very nice man my compliments to your good camera work.

  • i like fife and drums. They should bring them back to the military. The modern military bands sounds bad with trumpets and all that shit...

  • @KingFreshmilk It needs to be traditional, keep the bayonets but and fife and snare. I wanna hear March of the Grenadiers in person!

  • Fantastic sound on this

  • Happy 4th of July.

God Bless the United States of America!

  • Awesome sound of those pounding drums, it brings back my marching band days. Makes you feel like you are sitting on the parade route.

  • Funny how the tune was originally thought up by the Brits at around 1755 during the French & Indian War, making fun of the Colonists for being unorganized, being cowards, etc. and How it was turned around to suite the American point of view (Despite the fact Doodle derives from the German word Dodel which means fool... American Fool)

  • @Iceman5164

    so what happened?

  • @Iceman5164

oh nvm, taught you were a limey

  • The orange marches in parts of Ireland and Scotland are controversial. Are they triumphal and hate-spreading or just a historic ceremony?

I hardly think this is the case here, and it 'don't half sound good'.

Re the orange marches, why not make them more carnival? Open to everyone with food and entertainments etc? A light hearted day out? Just a thought.

  • 6 people are British

  • we walk into England claiming their land in the name of the President playing this song and then some guy starts talking and says Surrender in the name of President or be destroyed british scum its pay back MotherFoe

  • I just love the sound

  • I am your president, John Henry Eden, and you are listening to enclave radio.

  • @SaintLouisRocks

A lot can happen in three hundred years. Remember we are now friends with Germany after only sixty five. And while the rest of Europe would be speaking German, by the time America entered the war the UK was up to full strength once more. It was nearly two years since defeat in France and one year since the Battle of Britain.

  • excelent march, my regards to the band :)

  • when i hear this song makes wanna march to it holding the flag

  • yankee doodle went to town riding on a pony, stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni, father and i went down to camp along with captain gooding and there we saw the men and boys as thick as hasting pudding, yankee doodle keep it up yankee doodle dandy mind the music and the step and with the girls be handy, and there was general washington upon a strapping stallion shouting orders to his men i guess there were a million, repeat chorus

  • Long live the confeds!!

    Long Live Johnny Reb!

  • From looking at the comments all i can say is... this ain't about communists, socialists or any other wars. This is about the perspective of freedom and equality, the very ideals that formed this nation under fire and inspiration such as this music. It's a pity that it's not the same, but it's still the same land so fuck yea and bless those who still believe in the old America.

  • Yeah, the civil war wasn't about slavery, it was about the right of the southern states to own slaves. Lol. You guys can't change history. It was about slavery, period.

  • @igurube No doubt a considerable portion of the war was about the despicable practice slavery, but i think the main reason that the war started was because of Washington's (ie the north) was putting taxes on cotton and other cash crops. Their justification was that the slaves were the ones doing the work, so the owners should be taxed more for the crops. Almost every major war has been fought over money. its the way history works.

  • looks like 6 commie bitches saw this movie

  • damn that sounds good!

  • @WoW1323Zeedawg

Then I gonna sing "I'm a good ol' rebell" for him.

  • The thing is that the slavery was not a big issue, only an excuse for the yank's to unite the confederates by force.

See you in hell Billie Yankee!

  • One of the comments is "good old america" and since I'm just about the biggest Revolutionary War nerd out there I just wanted to point this out. Yankee Doodle was a song that was meant to offend the colonist. "Yankee" is an rude way of calling some one a colonist and "doodle" means that someone is an uneducated stupid farmer. Love the video! I flipped out when I saw it!

  • @Quatro7777 Pretty much everybody knows that.

  • @Quatro7777 - "stuck a feather in his hat & called it macaroni" is also a bust as macaroni was slang for fashionable fellow in britain, so it was making fun of the early stages of a new fashion over here, it all stems from lucy locket which has the same exact tone and was an old n. rhyme in britain, ive heard yankee was first used in the french&indian war when colonial malicias fought along side british regulars which called them yanks as they were disorganized

  • It's funny how everyone celebrates the colonies secession from the british empire, when the colonies had slaves under the cry of "liberty". Yet, when the southern states tried to secede from the U.S...they are some how traitors and slave drivers.

    Deo Vindice

  • @IslandersMets10 Some people tried to get rid of slavery, but were afraid the south wouldn't join in the fight so they did nothing to solve the issue. If we had taken care of it then we wouldn't of fought the civil war.

  • @newsflash90 Slavery was driven out of northern ports. The New York city and boston ports. Check your facts. The north had just as much to do with slavery then the south, if not more.

  • @IslandersMets10 You're right, there was still slavery but the south had more. I'm just saying if we fixed the problem then, there wouldn't have been a civil war.

  • @newsflash90 Slavery wasn't the "problem" that was "fixed" durrig the war between the states. The right of a state to secede was haulted by force and a powerful federal empire was forced down the throat of every american.

  • @IslandersMets10 Are you saying there was still slavery after the Civil War? I agree that in the beginning it was more about seceding but turned into a war about slavery. I think there was better ways of handling it then going to war.

  • @newsflash90 I''m saying rights were lost durring the war between the states, not gained. We lost the right to secede and choose to opt out of a political union of one state desired. You can't have a union by force. So therefor we live under and empire

  • @IslandersMets10 I agree. There were other ways of handling the situation. I don't think any state would have entered the union if they didn't think they could get out of it.

  • I was really glad to see Towpath at the National Muster. Come on, Towpath - Deep River 2011!!!!!

  • One of the best tunes I can think of, the original first verse of this tune was sung by British officers to mock the farmer-esque and unprofessional American soldiers. I like how they included the verse into this song, as if a proverbial middle finger was stuck up to the "British elite" for making fun of American heritage.

  • @MrNightlyProductions I've always felt this fact was underplayed in America. It has all sorts of positive implications on what to do when someone calls you a name you don't like

  • nice sound quality!

  • I always hear those drums in the back of my mind. Thanks.

  • The only way to hear it is civil war style.

  • great song!! love from japan!!

  • It has the sound of freedom, new idealogy and passion for liberty. Makes me feel patriotic too.

  • It makes me feel patriotic too, and I'm not even from America...How does that work?

  • ah, this makes me feel patriotic

  • It is highly desirable that policy practice be formalized to the maximum possible extent

  • Learn your history pal! :)

  • This is by far the best version i've heard

  • naw lad ulster flute bands r better u aint seen a band to uve came to GODS country

  • @larmouRlad awe man. You have made my day. From a fellow ulsterman.

  • @davetonia1233 cheers lad

    F.G.A.U.

  • Good old america. :)

  • @WojekSiren

We Americans have to thank Britain seeing as this music originated on your side of the pond. lol

  • Man, this KICKS ASS! :D

  • This song was originally written just to piss off the British, but, as Americans do, we turned it to a rally cry against the aristocrats. Can you not feel the resolve for your freedom rise in your throat when you hear this music? This is our land, and I dare an invader to JUST TRY TO TAKE IT!

This nation of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from this Earth!

And I lay my life and my faith with my fellow Americans that we shall not allow our nation to fall.

  • And to that I pledge my allegience to the flag and the nation it represents.....now and forever I am a fighting man of the United States of America..Let freedom ring...

  • @jeep1234567890 Wasn't it written BY the British to piss off the Americans? Well, it says so on Wikipedia anyway.

  • Americans are british...techicaly..

  • @NuclearHoaxFuel What??

  • @antred11 Americans are british ....whats so confusing here?

  • @antred11 Well firstly, I don't know what that has to do with anything. Secondly, there are millions of Americans that don't have British roots and even those who are of British descent can hardly be called "British" any more, so the statement "Americans are British" really doesn't make much sense.

  • @antred11 There are 36,564,465 british people living in USA alone.British people with real british roots.Well thats what wiki says but you get the picture.

Most of majority in USA today is mostly german and Spanish. And a bit of french.

The term American comes from Native American. So Americans don't really have a country. They are living in a stolen land and above that in a nice corporation :)

And they are legends in their own minds.

    Again learn your history.

  • @NuclearHoaxFuel I disagree. And I'd like to leave it at that.

  • @NuclearHoaxFuel Im an American living on American land. I consider being called British an insult . I am Half Native American and Half Mexican just thought youd like to know pal :)

  • No wonder you kicked the Southerner's asses with marching music like that.

  • How bout this for a comment: You see any guns on them? Why the fuck should anyone respect them? I'm a Tea Party Patriot, myself, but, seriously, in the spirit of the Revolution, fuck them! Who couldn't roll over these clowns with a couple cavalrymen?

Get some guns, wear them responsibly, and stand for you nation in full force.

    God Bless!

    Yes, I'm a wiseass! :)

  • For the uniformed the band marches in front of armed troops..and still does. This is not to threaten anyone but is a reenactment of what it was..relax...imagine General Washington on the lead horseback....This would make anyone brealout with chills..

  • @raginroadrunner Another helpful fact is that Gen Washington LEAD his troops into battle, which is one of the reasons one of his cloaks was shot through with 6 bullets, and he was never shot in battle. This is why an Iriquis Chief said he would lead a great nation. This is not a simple song of revolution, but a declaration of freedom by a free people who put their faith in God.

Faith, Hope, Charity, Courage; works every time it's HONESTLY tried. And we need HONESTY. The truth shall set us free.

  • I really hate that people Keep saying that the French Spain and Dutch won the american rev war, when it was really us, They just interveined

  • @luckyday465768 You're right. We fought for four years by ourselves and perservered under tough circumstances but we still needed their help in the end.

  • lol don't yell requests to a marching band, buddy.

  • Did you see anyone stand when the Flag went by?

  • I think looking at comments on this page, that occidental should have a war...All that pent up rage ends up on youtube XD

  • You spoilt this truely awesome and spine tingling performance, by shody camera skills

  • This is the way I enjoy hearing Yankee Doodle Dandy...fifes and drums and a good cadence, not like the stuff modern bands now play with very tight kevlar heads, very tight snares or no snares at all. Bravo.

  • was this filmed in new york? that looks like our state flag.

  • I wish people would stand up as the flag passing them.

  • @Gustav92069

An if it wasn't too hard hold their hand over their heart as well...

  • @grobo11 Its not the object its the values and ideals the object stands for.

  • Show some respect for the flag as it passes by people. good lord.

  • @Silverfish17 It's only a flag.

  • @grobo11 do you mind us yanks burning the british flag here? thanks pal!

  • @PvtGaryRoach Go ahead. You bought the flag, so you would be burning YOUR flag not mine. Un-like America the rest of the world can invest their culture and heritage in to more than a bit of cloth. A flag is meant to define your country, not to be its heart and soul, that's just silly.

  • @PvtGaryRoach Haha and you are a private? What fools do they let in the USMC? Do you not realise that the British are dying in Afghanistan more than any other nation other than your own?

  • @CcccclarkkkkK you knbow tere are things called "account names". its like me saying "Haha and you're a CcccclarkkkkK?"

  • I am a proud American when I watch this clip. Watch some of the Irish fife and drum corps, man. They lack in musicallity.

  • They look good and sound good, very good.

  • yankee doodle went to town, a-riding on a pony! i like the marches of the 18th century with the flutes and special uniforms

  • A lot of people outside of the US and UK don't realize that we're like brothers, we fight and bicker amongst each other but would kill for the other if anyone ELSE tried to!

  • @Arobins11 so true man

  • Comment removed

  • @Arobins11

It's a very nice parade, and tradition, but I can't help feeling a touch of annoyance every time I watch this :)

Long Live Our brothers in America, From Britain

  • @Myles0Harcourt oh gosh, my brothers, are you crazy?

  • @Myles0Harcourt brothers? lol

  • @cepomwa

I suppose you have a point. It's hard to remember when the UK last got something major from the "Special relationship"

  • @Myles0Harcourt are you retarded?

  • @Myles0Harcourt Make no mistake, we love our British brothers! We've shared more bloody trenches than we've opposed each other. God bless the U.S.A. and our big brother, Great Britain!
