Special points to Lyude, who is about as wooden as you can get, Xelha, who sounds unnervingly like a man doing a really good falsetto, and Geldoblame, whose voice actor was apparently enjoying himself very much.

Honestly this is one of the best games! the picture is really beautiful and the game itself. it made me feel...almost as if i was there? or had a mission lmao. i know it sounds so weird, i love this game! i also have the origins too. Thing is.....i got So far on it and lost my memory card T_T Sigh, i'll still play this any day !!
I've been seeing this game just sitting around on top of a shelf at my local game store for half a year now. I never knew what it was, until today that is. Now I feel like a damn moron for not picking it up months ago when I first noticed it. I hope it's still there tomorrow.
If only the voice acting in-game was as good as the trailer. It's as if they botched the acting in-game. Compare everyone from the trailer to in-game. The more noticeable differences would be with Kalas and specially Xelha. The game would have been so much more epic with proper voice acting.

This is everything that the west fears; they like to root for underdogs, which empires are not, they think autocracy is the source of all evil, and empires are also expansionist by nature which makes them ideal aggressors.
Ah yes, one of my favorite gamecube games. For some reason, I choose this game over the Tales games any day. I think it's because of how the combat works.... and the fact I don't like how Tales is cell-shaded (lack of better terms).

SNK 2 EO, Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex, Custom Robo, Def Jam Fight for NY, Timesplitters 3, Ikaruga, Mario Party 4-7 are my favorite Gamecube Games.

@XelchanTheBrave When it comes down to that, I usually just keep those two games separate and try not to compare them. I've played and fell in love with both games. They're both good in my eyes.

Seriously, this has to be the best intro ever created, even better than the fight between Seifer and Squall in FF VIII. I mean, the last 15 seconds are just way TOO epic! From "AWAKEN, ancient god of destruction! to the last shout of Kalas, everything is so amazing it gives me chills each time I watch this. Baten Kaitos was one amazing game, and it took me 4 or 5 years to realize that, now that I'm about to begin its prequel, that is said to be even better. Can't wait.
i didn't even like the game design and still i think it's one of the best games i ever played.
think about it, you're about to prevent the resurrection of the evil god, you fail, you get a super awesome sword to kill the god, fail number two, evil god becomes super evil god, you attack him in his flying demon fortress of doom and... win. you're happy to watch the ending, blah blah everything is fine now and you still have to fight another boss.
Games that have an enticing and involved overall story plot, such as this, Tales of Symphonia, have so much more backbone than games such as Fable or Dragon Origins
@godlydrmr You know nothing of Story if thats what you really think. With Fable you may have a bit of a point, but BioWare (Mass Effect/Dragon Age) are truly masters of the craft when it comes to story. The moral implications bring the nuances of story much closer to home and make it much more of a "Role Playing" Game. As opposed to following a pre-set path. That said I LOVE both (Linear and Open World) rpgs.

@ForrestPresley Origons was terribad, I was really hoping for it to be awesome and I was severely disappointed. However I maintain that Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is the best, and my personal favorite, Gamecube RPG. I have played Tales of Symphonia, just to let you know.
The story had a couple minor points I really enjoyed and one major point that still get's me to his day. I traded it into gamestop a few years back(I was young) and I consider it to have been a major mistake
Sometimes I just have to watch this trailer because it is the most awesome intro ever! When I first got BK I skipped the intro but the next day I watched it and was STUNNED.
This is my favorite game for so many reasons. It's beautiful, the plot line is amazing and the characters are intense. You feel like you're there with them...not to mention this game takes FOREVER to beat, which is awesome because lately games are over in like thirty mintues anymore :/
This game is so underrated...it disserves so much more credit. Baten Kaitos Origins was a masterpiece to, even though it took me year to beat it because it kept freezing all the time.
@Tarazed1 It's ok :) My Origins copy would freeze in most of my battles. I don't know how many times I fought Shanath over and over because it would freeze >.< I think it was my gamecube, because when I play it on the Wii it doesn't do it anymore lol.
@AubreyHalo yeah probably the gamecube seemed to short circuit after 5 years. I had to play mine on my old GCN at the time because Im pretty sure my brother was hogging the wii with twilight princess. but right after I beat origins my gamecube pulled a kerplunk then I managed to sell it :)
@dobadobadooo They do though, in an certain manner. I'm sure if the game had cinematic throughout it would include these parts, but the gamecube couldn't handle all those graphics. It's a hook, this pulls you into the game further. When Mizuti says "us heroes we have so much to do" that happens within in the game right after you follow her out of the shadowy fog. The thunderfish attacking you occurs, maybe not on a boat, but it occurs. Savyna has been waiting for you, Kalas, and Xelha.
@dobadobadooo Geldoblame saying "Kill him, he proves a threat to my empire" occurs at Queen Corellia's castle with Falon following him. Kalas earns his white wings within the fire pits. The old witch fortune tellers are a part of it. Mizuti's mask breaking is a part of it. Some if it is just a introduction to character personality and storyline. All of the scenes occur in the game, and I agree, they are overdramatic, but true. It makes you want to play the game.
Another bad thing about the intro is that it makes some of the characters seem really bland, like Gibari who comes of as an always pissed of brute, and Lyude who comes of as just... lame.
I don't know about you, but when I first saw this I almost decided then not to buy the game. I'm glad I did though, for even as the intro is lame (imo), the game is absolutely marvelous.

This game was fun as hell, but I never completed it for some reason... Not really sure why. Fun gameplay and a great RPG, but the voice-overs were absolutely HORRIBLE. I ended up turning them off and reading the game.
Good game though. Creative, innovative, and had a decent story if I remember correctly. Wouldn't mind digging it up and beating it...
Awesome game. Played it back on the day on my cube... never completed it for some reason, but the game was fun! My only problem with it was the the terrible voice-overs. I recall just turning them off and reading the damn game. Not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that.
I'm kind of craving going back and completing it... Maybe picking up origins at some point.

Seriously, this has to be the best intro ever created, even better than the fight between Seifer and Squall in FF VIII. I mean, the last 15 seconds are just way TOO epic! From "AWAKEN, ancient god of destruction! to the last shout of Kalas, everything is so amazing it gives me chills each time I watch this. Baten Kaitos was one amazing game, and it took me 4 or 5 years to realize that, now that I'm about to begin its prequel, that is said to be even better. Can't wait.

i didn't even like the game design and still i think it's one of the best games i ever played.
think about it, you're about to prevent the resurrection of the evil god, you fail, you get a super awesome sword to kill the god, fail number two, evil god becomes super evil god, you attack him in his flying demon fortress of doom and... win. you're happy to watch the ending, blah blah everything is fine now and you still have to fight another boss.

Games that have an enticing and involved overall story plot, such as this, Tales of Symphonia, have so much more backbone than games such as Fable or Dragon Origins

@godlydrmr You know nothing of Story if thats what you really think. With Fable you may have a bit of a point, but BioWare (Mass Effect/Dragon Age) are truly masters of the craft when it comes to story. The moral implications bring the nuances of story much closer to home and make it much more of a "Role Playing" Game. As opposed to following a pre-set path. That said I LOVE both (Linear and Open World) rpgs.

@ForrestPresley Origons was terribad, I was really hoping for it to be awesome and I was severely disappointed. However I maintain that Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is the best, and my personal favorite, Gamecube RPG. I have played Tales of Symphonia, just to let you know.
The story had a couple minor points I really enjoyed and one major point that still get's me to his day. I traded it into gamestop a few years back(I was young) and I consider it to have been a major mistake

This is my favorite game for so many reasons. It's beautiful, the plot line is amazing and the characters are intense. You feel like you're there with them...not to mention this game takes FOREVER to beat, which is awesome because lately games are over in like thirty mintues anymore :/
This game is so underrated...it disserves so much more credit. Baten Kaitos Origins was a masterpiece to, even though it took me year to beat it because it kept freezing all the time.

@Tarazed1 It's ok :) My Origins copy would freeze in most of my battles. I don't know how many times I fought Shanath over and over because it would freeze >.< I think it was my gamecube, because when I play it on the Wii it doesn't do it anymore lol.

@AubreyHalo yeah probably the gamecube seemed to short circuit after 5 years. I had to play mine on my old GCN at the time because Im pretty sure my brother was hogging the wii with twilight princess. but right after I beat origins my gamecube pulled a kerplunk then I managed to sell it :)

@dobadobadooo They do though, in an certain manner. I'm sure if the game had cinematic throughout it would include these parts, but the gamecube couldn't handle all those graphics. It's a hook, this pulls you into the game further. When Mizuti says "us heroes we have so much to do" that happens within in the game right after you follow her out of the shadowy fog. The thunderfish attacking you occurs, maybe not on a boat, but it occurs. Savyna has been waiting for you, Kalas, and Xelha.

@dobadobadooo Geldoblame saying "Kill him, he proves a threat to my empire" occurs at Queen Corellia's castle with Falon following him. Kalas earns his white wings within the fire pits. The old witch fortune tellers are a part of it. Mizuti's mask breaking is a part of it. Some if it is just a introduction to character personality and storyline. All of the scenes occur in the game, and I agree, they are overdramatic, but true. It makes you want to play the game.

Another bad thing about the intro is that it makes some of the characters seem really bland, like Gibari who comes of as an always pissed of brute, and Lyude who comes of as just... lame.
I don't know about you, but when I first saw this I almost decided then not to buy the game. I'm glad I did though, for even as the intro is lame (imo), the game is absolutely marvelous.

This game was fun as hell, but I never completed it for some reason... Not really sure why. Fun gameplay and a great RPG, but the voice-overs were absolutely HORRIBLE. I ended up turning them off and reading the game.
Good game though. Creative, innovative, and had a decent story if I remember correctly. Wouldn't mind digging it up and beating it...

Awesome game. Played it back on the day on my cube... never completed it for some reason, but the game was fun! My only problem with it was the the terrible voice-overs. I recall just turning them off and reading the damn game. Not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that.
I'm kind of craving going back and completing it... Maybe picking up origins at some point.
