  • Sadly we will never have a day where these great WW2 aircraft will be the best of the best. They were at one time, however we moved on. These aircaft were the greatest!

Why did we have both the 24 and the 17? Why did we not just pick one and build only that aircraft? Was it about contracts and spreading the wealth of production?

I have always loved the 24 more than the 17, It just looks like a peterbilt with wings and the 17 was just a corvette. Much like the 47 and 51. Loved the P47!

  • @barmtrail The b-24 was a pickup truck... the b-17 was a real plane! lol jk but we made both planes because the b-17 had a greater bomb load for when we needed to bomb the shit outta ground targets... the b-24 had a lighter bomb load and when they were in a squadron, that squadron would normally have more b-24's than a squadron of b-17's... and buddy, my grandpap flew a p-47 in ww2 and he said Quote " The Jug had the balls to take the hits... and keep on fighting."

  • This is NOT THE LAST ONE flying. The CAF B-24/LB-30 has been flying since it was built.

  • The prop wash almost knocked me over...it was EPIC!!!

  • there is a b-24 museum in pueblo, colorado, at the airport. they have a few, i believe.

  • shes beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Get 'er going now, lads! She's to go well on like! Got get 'er up!
