  • this is how I want to play guitar

  • @julesgladiator how can you even say its not hard at all? yeah his songs might not be the most complex but id love to see you come up with a melody like that on your own. no matter the amount of time you put in i promise it wouldnt be comparable to this. your probably just some untalented dickhead

  • Why does the radio have to have so much crappy music????

im 15 and i hate whats on the radio.. i listen to some stuff like the fray. one republic. the script. etc. but all that other "country" pop country.. its all getting old.. some of today's country singers are good.. but it to is slowly going down the crapper

  • SoooooOo LOvely...! SoooooOo Beautiful..! It feels like I'm in air..! WOnderful Played....

  • I'm going to get a pet spider and train it to do that intro on my fretboard.. so I don't hurt myself =X.

  • He is a blessed talent. Humns don't learn to play like that - they're born with the gift. They then allow the gift to be passed through themselves to others. Thank only God and these gentle persons for putting in the time and hard work to allow these blessings be heard. Thank YouTube for hosting these wonderful musicians.

  • @quickdeuce Blessed talent? What he's doing aint hard at all. But it's true that he has some sensibility ;). But it's pretty easy to play.

  • @julesgladiator true musicality lies in being able to play fast and complex pieces (which we have seen with his other songs) but then also being able to realize that the basis of music is melody and emotion and then bringing that out of your instrument. This piece is absolutely beautiful, i dont care how complex it is.

  • Excellent @trevorhallguitar! Inspired by Sheldon Vanauken? :)

  • @VonHobbit yep I love that author!

  • @trevorhallguitar Just bought two of your albums on eMusic.com. :) God bless you.

  • This song is fantastic. My current favorite from the Entelechy album. Beautiful

  • from 3:21 to 4:16 is just ridiculously fucking awesome!!!

  • These kind of videos/talent has got to be the single greatest advantage of a system like YouTube. Thankyou Candyrat, and thankyou Trevor...all the very best in continued success!

  • This is what happens when you put Andy Mckee and Antoine Duffour in a Blender :P

  • WOW this may be my next favorite tune besides antione dufour Glimmer of Hope. AMAZING!!!!

  • the harmonic section is so amazing!!!!!!

  • i don't nopw what i can write, because nothing except incredible is not suitable

  • Bellísimo

  • sigh, i'll be as good as him one day

  • which tuning is this?

  • Where is the "LOVE" Button?

  • O jeito de ele tocar lembra Antoine Duffour....Muito bom!

  • Comment removed

  • E ele eh bem parecdo tbm com o Antoine...legal..bacana..

  • Lindo.... Simplesmente liiiiindo.... PARABÉNS.

  • i cant even explain how much i wish i had this kind of skill

  • Pause this video, go to Google, type in rainy mood, click first result, come back to this video and click play.

    Rain DOES make everything better

  • @DDFJ1230 His first CD that I know of had nature sounds in the background. This was a long time ago so its great to see that he is getting some recognition for his talent.

  • I fucking love this song. Seriously, I go into an absurd amount of detail about all the things this song achieves and how the composition works emotionally and musically and all that other shit, but I don't have to or want to. I believe simply saying, "This song is fucking awesome" is enough.

  • All my friends listen to rap/rock music.. Which I'm cool with and will listen to it but why cant other teenagers like me understand what real music is? I mean it's really sad that stuff like this isn't on the radio. I don't mind listening to secular music and all. But more people need to hear music like this because real music like this is getting harder and harder to find.

  • 9 people need to stay on the justin bieber videos.

  • Will you come and sit in the back seat of my car? I'm gettin' kiinda tired of the radio.

  • This man and Ewan Dobson. Add Tool's bassist to the mix and you have a string group that will make your ears transcend existence...

  • @Keerow27 unfortunatly youd never here more than 30secs of a song cuz youd cum all the time haha man that would be one helluva group!

  • It's a shame this is super compressed. Kinda killed the dynamics at about 3:29 If everything sounds big, nothing sounds big.

  • this song has a soul to it that i cant explain fully, and the melody is so peaceful. His music is beautiful and uplifting thank you sir :)

  • this guy is a badass

  • Any one of Gordon Hall's songs... I want played at my funeral. I just think that his music would make my loved ones feel that I've lead a good life and will comfortably rest in peace.

  • @MikeyMage make sure you tell your family that or unfortunatly it wont be done

  • Such a heart-warming piece of work

  • Tuning?

  • Impressive!

  • man what a gift. Is it me though, or are alot of vids on YouTube lately not in sinc? it's frusterating to say the least...

  • awesome!!! good relax music!!!!!

  • What's that thing on his guitar? You know, the thing that looks like a box of crayons..

  • @Kaijisss Marimba xD

  • @Kaijisss Go to his song Kalimbatar from Candy Rat or Pine Trees and Powerlines and hear it played.

  • @Kaijisss I thought they were colored pencils..

  • @cpn72 everyone did...everyone at first

  • @Kaijisss It's called a kalimba or thumb piano. They have a pretty cool tone.

  • This is amazing

btw go to rainymood . com and then play this video.. it makes it 10 times better

  • just imagine they use these songs in skyrim

  • I'm in love

  • Wtf the faces he makes while playing lol

  • I bet no one notice that there is a microphone on the left-top corner of the screen. Not that it is relevant.

  • Best song ever! Amazing!

  • Im in love with the sound of this mans soul

  • beautiful melody !

  • you're a genius!!!!!!

  • When I first heard this one live I knew it would jump right to the top of my favorite TGH songs > glad to see the video live up to the live performance. Congrats Trevor!

  • Fantastica!

  • 4:24 whats that finger "tink tink" sounding technique called? Can someone please tell me? Please please

  • @negee3 those are harmonics!

  • @negee3 Harmonics which are played with the index finger and the thumb! their called pinch harmonics I believe..

  • @negee3 artificial harmonics !

  • This. Is. Gold.

  • Mr. Hall, you're quite talented and such a pleasure to listen to. Keep on creating beautiful music and I'll keep on listening. :)

  • Beautiful!

  • When I first saw the first few of this guys videos uploaded on here I wasn't a big of of the kalimba, but this is just beautiful. I think I've got a new favourite song.

  • It is a box of coloured pencils . You just don't know what they are for. The 'tune' is devoid of melody. It's a drone.

  • @cruntpoop Wait.. what? Devoid of melody? This one? You high on something bad?

  • What the fuck is that pencil box on his guitar? Haha'

  • @meecob E B C# F# B D#

  • Great stuff! Added to the World United Music Websites under video catagory Easy Listening. 8O)

  • @2minstral Why not also add to that site his piece entitled: That Old Familiar Pain? The video in on the side and it would fit the website you are referring to.

  • what is that pencil box attached to your beautiful sounding guitar ? Actually I already may know what it does but what is it called ? Sorry, one more question... Is it standard tuning buddy ?

    Cheers, hope you read

  • @meecob it's called a Kalimba, or a thumb piano as some call it!

  • @meecob and I believe this isn't in standard tuning

  • simply beautiful

  • Now that's some beautiful music.

  • this song is unbelievable . . one of the best i have ever heard !!

  • this would have been a great Chrono Cross tune

  • super dope

  • Added to favorites. Really nice one.

  • Amazingly talented.. please continue to share.. I will continue to patronize!

  • Beautiful Harmonics at 2;50 or so... Later...

  • Simplicity.....BeautifulLLLL!!!!!!! Later.

  • He can tell everything with his hands and his guitar. Everything is beautiful.

  • Outstanding!

  • Like it...

  • Man, this guy is a storyteller. Every song is a beautifully crafted tale.

  • Great song and awesome tone!!

    Well done. :~)

  • awesome key change at 2:03!

  • Does anyone know what tuning this is in?

  • amazing!

  • Love it! Amazing, keep at it!

  • i'm glad to see another talented man to join the candyrat team:)

    that piece was astonishing

  • awesome dude !

  • you are fast becoming my favorite on this channel!!

  • You had me at Morning Sidewalk <3

  • Outstanding!

  • I do hope that guitar is over 18...

  • great dude !

  • my awe and respect grows with each new vid, Trevor.

  • Why can't RPG developers use CandyRat artists for their soundtracks? Seriously, this sort of stuff belongs in the heart of gamers, just like everyone else! Beautiful work, and please keep it up!

  • @EternalRecovery are you saying you want this in Skyrim? lol

  • @h8rsteve I could feel it for a Final Fantasy entry...AERIIIIITTTHHHH!!!!

  • @h8rsteve Fuck that lol, I have no faith in Skyrim. But I think this kind of stuff might fit in a calm village setting in Western RPGs or even JRPGs as well. My point is that CandyRat should be much bigger than what they are.

  • @EternalRecovery it actualy reminds me a lot of chrono cross soundtrack

  • @EternalRecovery that's the great thing about pc gaming, i make these songs my sound track

  • @EternalRecovery Every boss battle will be to a Ewan Dobson tune.

  • @Ryoku1989 YES!!!!

  • @Ryoku1989

Blood and Ice will be when they die.

  • @roberto4396 Time travel will be set to Motion Potion, and that one random (hidden) boss fight will be Disk Read Error.

  • @EternalRecovery I've heard some good stuff in some video games, actually. But I agree, these guys would work so good for RPGs.

  • @EternalRecovery If you're good you can mod the game with your own music

  • @EternalRecovery they should make a RPG game game called The CandyRat :D

  • This is such a perfectly written and performed song. Thank you candyrat once again!

  • hey! he is not asian!

  • I forgot to breathe when i watched this, until i felt dizzy.. Now i gotta go get my guitar, and get a little better. Thanks for this wonderful and inspiring piece of music. It sounds like something out of my own mind. I just can´t express the ideas, as well as you can. Fav´d

  • Three words: AMAZING!

  • @joneric777 lol

  • man every time i watch you u inspired me to become a better guitarist :)

  • There is a time for driving music & a time for reflective music. We need both. Music that captures melody & rhythm to set a mood, bring relaxation, help one process experiences in life and find inspiration is needed. This song does just that as does his "That Old Familiar Pain" song. Listen to Kalimbatar if you want something more intense. Appreciate the beauty of the song and mood it captures. It you want complexity and incredible skill level you should hear "Cerebral" on the CD.

  • i dont get why people are bashing this... if you are looking for a harder song ... search a different genre. but if you are looking for a calming song - here it is :)

  • Why does no one on this channel play guitar with balls?

  • @andthentherewasham balls? what do you mean?

  • @TheMirindaMan

Balls here meaning, intense. Something a little "harder" or "darker".

  • @andthentherewasham Oh like that, this is still really awesome. I actually think it takes alota balls to even think of composing something as beautiful as this, let alone play it so perfectly whilst maintaing a cool vibe. idono ;D

  • @andthentherewasham Why do people (idiots?) like you assume that's what the guitar is for?

  • @TheDJNaylor

Its for all things. It is just that NONE of these amazing guitarist play anything that is intense.

  • @andthentherewasham NONE of you people realize what is intense to you may not be intense to me. You want "intense" guitar, go look for some. DO NOT insult these musical genius due to your personal preference.

  • @andthentherewasham Would you write music you didn't want to? Or play it? Or post it under your label?

  • @andthentherewasham Because they're talented enough to not need distortion to cover up the mistakes they don't make.

  • @shonkey

distortion has nothing to do with playing music that is more intense.

  • I thought he had glued a box color pencils on his guitar.

  • @LupusMike nice idea for a sidewalk show.... x)

  • Trevor Gordon Hall ! Candyrat! Only the best!!!!

  • I love this one Trevor! This tune shows off your straight guitar skill (which you have plenty of). I love your use of kalimba but this tune really shows of your composition skill. It reminded me a lot of Antione Dufour...

  • Absolutely gorgeous.

  • This was fantastic :) Bravo!

  • where is this guy from? he's awesome!!!!!

  • alien's chords lol (^_^)

  • reminds me somehow of T.E. - green thumb...still wonderful tune

  • fantastic skill but why the pencil case attached to the guitar?

  • @fluenty9 /watch?v=Lo9kGHYn_bI&feature=relmfu

It's a music instrument called Kalimba.

  • @fluenty9 i believe its a mini glockenspeil....i think

  • @kindasortaplayguitar It's not. It's a kalimba.

  • @TheGiantPony1 sweet, glad we got that straightened out

  • 4 ppl were born with no fingers

  • Your guitar like a drum. I love this. ^ ^

  • i can watch gordon playng with a smile on the face, i know it will be good!

  • So nice .....listening over a cup of coffee....thanks for the joy! Jim

  • @DanTheBrahman If you dont like this doesnt mean he has to throw this to garbage... there are a lot of people who like his tunes

  • Trevor you are awesome i wish you great success in music i chilled out and i can go to school now. Carry on :)

  • @aremenius Thanks a lot I appreciate that!

  • Beautiful, the whole thing, and I love the epic ending.

  • love the amazing melody a little more then half way in

  • nice:)

  • Nice way to wake up in the morning.. He is really good!
