He's still going at 86, but I can't help but think about him 30, 40, 50 years ago and this song, Daddy's Hands, and Through the Eyes of My Father are all so like Dad. We lost Mom this year and I don't think we'll have him much longer. I love you, Dad, for all of yourself you've poured into others throughout your life of service to Boy Scouts, the church, the entire extended family as patriarch. He described how he threw up the first time he killed a man. He had to and he killed more, but he never touched a gun again when he came home and he gave his life in service to others. between the ages of 12 to 18 i was so angry at my father. i played basketball and ran track(especially in high school)he made it to 1 b-ball game during 4 yrs(thats it)i thought he didn't care.as i got older i realized working a full time and a part-time yr after yr to support me my brother and sister to feed us clothe us and keep the lights on he loved me more than i could ever imagine.i made him retire at 62 and move in with me.since then(now 82)his job is to do anything he wants !!!
