Just wondering, is your Conky transparent when you rotate the cube? When I have Conky running and I rotate the cube, the background behind Conky on all faces of the cube remains opaque. How'd you fix yours?

Got same thing. If I'm not wrong there's an option in conky config, something like "transparent background" but I didn't tried it.

i have awn installed but the windows juz collapses into the bar normally without much effects

Hey, I just got linux 2 days ago and I think its great. Especially all the customizations! I had two questions:

1) Does the dock at the bottom function as an application launcher and a taskbar?

2) How did you get the windows to reshuffle when u select a lower window for focus? (time 0:10-0:20)

Woot! I found it. It was in the compiz animations menu, under window focus. Its called the Dodge effect. Thanks for all your help!!!

Yeah, it's what i'm doing it atm. It's called Dual Boot ;-)

You can keep your pre-installed vista or just format and reinstall all. I had no problem installing ubuntu on my notebook, just the fact that you can't have more then 4 partitions on your hd, and well the notebook got already 4 partitions when you buy it, so you have to format all or just remove 2 partitions. Almost all hardware is linux-compatible =)

I used gtk-recordmydesktop and mencoder for record and encode the video. I'm using BlackMarble2 as dark theme and Glider as windows setup. I hope you enjoy :-)

thanks a lot i already installed DUAL BOOT ubuntu x64 bit and windows xp x64 bit for the games of course crysis and stuff and fully customized soon will upload a video to show you finally the dream setup well actually the dream set up is run 3 virtual machines with FULL CAPABILITIES windows mac os and ubuntu x64 all that will come soon mac can do it on parallels

i cant find mencoder but tellme something when i record with gtk record my desktop i get a file type named ogg i dont think youtube acepts that when you edit the video what type of video file you upload here and how do i get the mencoder

er can't help you to find mencoder, i just had it.. If you can't find look for a software to convert ogg in avi :-) the type of the video i uploaded is avi

its ok now im trying something else i foudn a way to activate partially 3d graphic aceleration on vmware workstation 6 but now i hearad you can also boot up a real windows installation into the virtual machine while runing linux as well im working on that soon will upload a tutorial
